Well, because of my new 2002 Mutang GT, which will be my first car though I still have to get my licence, I wanted to make this topic to car movies a grindhouse classic genre!

Car movies are basicaly movies with the main thing showing action are the cars. Thiese are some films that are "Car Movies":

-Death Proof
Posted Image
-Vanishing Point
Posted Image
-Cannonball
Posted Image
-and who can forget the holiest of car movies:

Road Warrior AKA Mad Max 2

All of thiese movies have become legend. Vanishing Point was one of the films that inspired Tarantino to make Death Proof. Cannonball had a remake 2 years later and the remake got sequels, and Mad Max is legend on it's own. The most recent of thiese car movie is Death Race, which sounds familiar with a car movie that also starred Carradine called Death Race 3000. So, what do you think of car movies?

How is that possible?
It's simple: I have seen none of the "Mad Max" films in theaters nor do I own any of the DVDs. These films are not a priority for me right now to buy. winky

Overall, I liked it. Kurt Russell is one of my favorite actors so any analysis of his performance in this film would be somewhat biased. I do think Tarantino's pacing was a little sluggish in this film during the part of the story line of the first group of young women and their initial encounter in the bar, and conversation, with "Stuntman Mike". A minor gripe. The cars were outstanding, especially the Dodge Challenger towards the film's climax.

I like the "Vanishing Point" trailer. I may pick up that movie up on DVD by the end of this year.

Here's the trailer for Two Lane Black Top(1971):

That looks good, you've seen it?

This is a clip for Cannonball:

Cars used:Dodge Charger '68, Ford Mustang '69, Pontiac Trans Am '73, DeTomaso Pantera, Lincoln Continental

Saddly, no one has put up the trailer, so here is the plot: Before Cannonball Run, there was Cannonball, the first film to be based on the famous illegal car races of the 60's and 70's, which pushed the speed limit to 58 M.P.H (If I remember correctly). David Carridine is out protagonist. The blsck car is the antagonist, and everyone else are unlucky people.

Though this movie is categorized as a crime drama, G2K, you should check out this eleven minute sequence in Bullitt(1968), starring Steve McQueen. McQueens character, "Bullitt", chases after a couple of bad guys in his Mustang fast back, the bad guy driving a Dodge Charger. It is the considered one of the best, if not the best, car chases in cinematic history:

Forgot to comment: Well, in that clip, the editing is good, but I rather go with the others mentioned above. But Steve McQueen is great. He always has, always is and always will be.
