Well, I do not know much but if you prefer scientific monster movies over mystical, G2 may be your faveorite.

More Good News! There is a contest revolving around the Heisei Gamera box set at this link:

http://www.bs11.jp/enjoyment/gamera/

Apparently, the first two winners get a copy of the Box Set
The next five get a reproduction poster of "Gamera: Giant Monster Midair Showdown"
The next three get to go on a free vacation in Japan

Showa looks nice, though I really wished that JP and UK blu-ray cases were thin like they are here with blue plastic... I just think the black casing looks bad, especialy for the Heisei films. Though it wooks great for Daikaiju Gamera...

Interesting that the prints are looking bad and only encoded at 1080i rather than 1080p.

I really hope we don't have to wait long for other Godzilla/kaiju BDs here because recently I downloaded the Heisei series in HD. they where the 1080i TV broadcasts downconverted to 720p but from what I saw the films looked great especially Biollante I seen things I've never noticed before.

Sadly I just skimmed through them as I hate watching movies on my PC and I'm currently having issues streaming the files to the PS3.

I haven't tried my 360 yet.

Someone with undoubtedly more spare cash to spend than me right now. I have been tempted to pull the trigger and start buying the Blu-Ray Showa Gamera films. The thing is, I have recently been watching my DVD-R's of these films, all copied from Region 2s and with English subtitles. They all look good so for now I'm going to abstain from getting these Blu-Ray releases.

I'll wait for a better release of the Gamera stuff before I buy them on BD. As for Goji films I'll most likely play the waiting game and get those as they're released in the States.

Or wait till I get a BD-Burner and someone comes up with a method to add subs to films much like James Ballard had that guide up for reburning R2 DVDs with subs.

Better? Well, they are making new documentries for the Gamera trilogy for their blu-ray release. I don't know what could be better than that since if you own the ADV DVDs, you already got all of what the Japanese regular DVDs had except for lacking picture quality and instead of "Gamera Always Wins", the theme song for each film was to be playing.

I was thinking of the Showa stuff my self.

I'm not really a fan of the Heisei series but I'm sure I'll pick up the BDs for the completist in me.

I'm not really a fan of Cloverfield yet I have that on Blu-Ray. Odd isn't it.
