Music, what a dull world it would be without tunes. What are you listening to right now? Post here. Mr. Smiles

At the moment, I'm listening to the music from, Flesh For Frankenstein and Blood For Dracula, great soundtracks with some hauntingly beautiful tunes.

The members of Slipknot remind me of rabid animals, in the way they conduct themselves on stage. I mean that as a compliment. Mr Green

The topic is self-explanatory. Talk about what role music plays in your life. Is it significant? Does it help you get through the day? Does it help you fall asleep at night? Talk about music and it's influence, however great or small, in your life. Feel free to elaborate about the kinds of music you listen to, your stereo system or portable player. What influence does music have on you? If you play an instrument, or are learning how, please feel free to discuss. All replies welcome. :)

If I don't have a DVD in, then music is always playing in the background. While my taste in music is rather eclectic, I have a special fondness for tunes from the 50s and 60s. I've been a Beatles fan since I was a wee lass and my parents has the 'Red' album.....I'd ask my Mom or Dad to play that over and over and over. I also enjoy the heavier stuff from say, Black Sabbath, Ozzy Osbourne, Juda Priest, Rob Zombie, etc. and I also enjoy some classical tunes and instrumentals. I quite often will pop on my headphones and actually fall asleep listening to a disc of tunes I've burned from various CDs I own.....I'd say music plays a big role in my life, it's just something I enjoy and in spite of not having the ability to carry a tune in a bucket, when I'm alone, I'll sing along as happy as can be. :D

After tiring, as a much younger man, of consuming several shots of straight whiskey in an effort to improve my chances of falling asleep quickly, I began, at the suggestion of a friend, listening to nature sounds after hitting the rack, e.g. a flowing stream, a river, ocean waves breaking on a beach, that kind of thing. While these CDs have not turned me into Rip Van Winkle, they have improved my sleep and sleep habits. eyebrow

It's funny, I know a few people who say they can't have anything playing in the bacground while they try to sleep, because if there's music playing, they feel they have to stay awake to listen!

Another thing music provides for Packmule is some relief from driving during my day job-as a landscape foreman I drive a company truck around Atlanta, where traffic, even(and sometimes especially) in the suburbs, is something not for the faint of heart. Music while I drive tends to take an edge off suburban driving, for me anyway. eyebrow

... and computer music.

What exactly is that? Obviously it has something to do with computers but beyond that I am in the dark about this. Can you elaborate? eyebrow

I see. I am obviously not the most informed person in regards to this kind of music. Thread drift: what is Megumi Odaka up to now? If you would like to start a thread about her that would be most welcome sir. :)
