"SACRIFICE"[a.k.a.; "Bob's Giant Monster Movie"] : http://sacrifice.brickcavemedia.com/ Have you ever wanted to make your own giant monster movie?? Who hasn't right?? Just stop and think for a second how totally awesome that would be Yeah I know...gets you a little choked up and brings tears to your eyes huh?? How cool would it be to be able to brag and tell your friends, family, co-workers, boses, arch-nemesises, school mates, enemies, and eventually grandchildren that you had some small role in the making of a great kaiju film?? Well, I'm here to tell ya that yes it could happen:This is your opportunity to do just that. To be a part in the making of something potentially great. Bob[zilla] Nelson stands here humbly before us asking for our help in making his very ambitious new giant monster film; "Sacrifice". A film that he's making especially for us the truest and most obsessive of kaiju fanatics. He doesn't want to just make just another cheesy/crappy, horrid, straight-to-dvd wreck of a movie, no, he wants to make us the very best looking and most exciting giant monster epic possible!! However he needs our help. I know...you're thinking 'oh great this nutcase wants us to donate a bunch of money to make his movie and we get nothing in return'. Not this time friends. Nope. He's got something great to offer up; "Starting on September 22nd, we'll be making the first two chapters of the movie available- one will be a free download, one will be $1.25. It's important to note- this is how we are raising the money to fund the movie, so we are asking for the support of the Kaiju/sci-fi/fantasy community to- at the very least, give these first couple chapters a spin. If it's a good story to you, we certaainly like it, then hang with us and you can pick up each chapter as it comes out. ![]() Also, we have scheduled an internet chat session with the "Gang"; myself, Kent, Michael and Brent, so that people can talk about the chapters, and ask about where we are at in the project. That is scheduled for September 30 at 7:30pm Pacific Time. More details will be available after we do some major updates to the Brick Cave Media site this weekend, but i think we look forward to sharing our excitement with you and starting the next stage of the project. " OK you guys LOVE a good kaiju fiction right?? You'll really LOVE this one!! If you can't afford to toss up $ 20.00 right away no one's saying you have to. It's just $ 1.25 a week!! That's dirt cheap!! What in the %&*& can you buy these days for that?? How about downloading the first 'free' chapter and giving it a read and see if you'd like to stick around with the rest of us and help make a monster movie?? They're already lining up helicopters, humvees, military equipment...Yeah, you don't want to be left out!! Now, I'm not saying; give us your money. I'm just asking you to check it out and see for yourself if you'd like to be a part of it all. THANKS!!: More details: http://roberthood.net/blog/index.php/2008/09/19/bob-and-his-monster-need-you/ Edited by AVERY GUERRA, May 26 2009, 08:30 PM.

Great!! They could use all the help they can get so PLEASE spread the word!! Also; : [NOTE]: I should probably point out that this film is meant as a legitimate release and NOT a 'fan film'. It's creator's are planning on releasing it through a regional theatrical release with some targeted theaters then following that run releasing the DVD through an official distributor. They even hope to be able to present it at next year's "Comic Con". |

Yeah, we just wish that we really knew what that mysterious new creature looks like. That pic shown obviously is just our imagination showing. I'm totally digging the revamping of the official website/blog and those "Cloverfield" like viral campaign catchphrases on the shirts; "Is it in you?", "What would you give up?", "I believe in Sacrifice." etc... This feels like it's getting HUGE!! |

Will the design of the monster be revealed at all? I ask because the "Cloverfield" monster was never officially revealed before the movie released to theaters in 2008 and I believe part of this movie's great box office success was the suspense so effectively created by the effective viral marketing campaign of Abram's "Bad Robot" productions. Perhaps the makers of "Sacrifice" will opt to keep their monster a secret as well.

No. They have repeatedly expressed that they have no intentions of revealing the creature. You'll have to see the film. There have been only three "Cloverfield" mock-busters and they only copied the hand-held camera point of view. While this is definitely no mock-buster of that film at all; it will use the same idea of a no show before you watch it. I think it's a brilliant idea and will really help to build the momentum. That and those viral-like catchphrases on the t-shirts. This one's pretty damned exciting huh?? |

Well...they are in and from Arizona. However it does say in one part of the website about if you're interested in being an extra you'll need to be willing to travel. It also says you'd have to be willing to run and get stepped on by the giant monster. I figure most of it will film where they're at and some else where. This is like the next "Cloverfield" but on a much smaller budget. However these guys have some pretty big plans for it.

One of my "dreams" as a horror/sci-fi fan has always been to play the part of an extra or even a minimal role in a film should someone involved decide I was good enough. That said, I'm always curious as to where the next great thing is filming at. Arizona actually isn't too far, considering I'm in Austin, Texas. Of course the tough part for working class guys such as myself would be to take the vacation time off work and the expenditures to get there. But I figure someday I'll do it. I'd love for the chance to run from a giant monster, be stepped on, eaten, burnt, or blown up. loco |

Mine too, but one day I'd like to make my own kaiju film. They are taking donations as well and one of the gifts for an efficient amount is to be an extra. It would be extremely cool. However; I'm all the way over here in Georgia where Packmule is. The closest giant monster movie I can recall filmed around here was "Birth Of A Legend: The Story Of The WAWA" from Alabama. |

Yep. Out in the boon docks. LOL!! No, it's not that bad. It's just that Atlanta doesn't ever get very many kaiju film screenings. We had "The Host", "Dragon Wars: D-War", "Gamera; The Guardian Of The Universe", "The Call Of Cthulhu", "Attackazoids", and a few screenings of some of the classic Toho kaijus and American giant monster films. However; I just read today that if your state has a "Landmark" theater then it will most likely be getting "Big Man Japan"[DaiNipponjin]. We do with the "Mid Town Arts Cinema". So yay!!

If I remember correctly Gojira(1954) screened here in Atlanta sometime back in 2007.

I've always wanted to be in one of Romero's "Dead" films, but unfortunately he shoots all of them in or around his native Pittsburgh, which is a bit too far to be an extra. I heard that he's a cool guy on set though and they take good care of the zombie extras who show up for his shoots. Here in Austin we are pretty spoiled with film festivals, we have SXSW which is a music and film festival that screens tons of new indie movies every year, plus we have horrorfest where they screen alot of new lower budget gore films. |
