We are a growing, casual and friendly online community of movie fans who like to talk about giant monsters, horror and sci-fi in cinema, on television and on DVD. There are forums for sports, casual chat and video games as well. I know many will question why I would want to, considering the size of this site, and the fact it is still a "slow" locale on the internet. My reason is mostly curiosity. It's partly why I started MF, and after 14 months we haven't done too bad, I think. I believe another site started by me could do similarly. While I have debated many themes for this site in my mind I am leaning towards general sci-fi/horror or classic horror. Tell me what you think, criticism included, if you are so inclined. All replies welcome. :) Note: the site would be an Invisionfree-hosted board, like this one.

DVD Fanatic Posts: 3,711 Group: Members Member #18 Joined: February 7, 2006	I voted classic horror, but also feel general sci-fi/horror is a good idea. thumbs up Perhaps you'd feel classic horror might put too many limits on discussion and if you did go the general sci-fi/horror route, you could cover several decades of films and break down those into several small sub-forums, too. I'd definitely be interested in seeing anything you decide on, though. :D

I am leaning towards general sci-fi and horror "KaijuFanatic" Perhaps you'd feel classic horror might put too many limits on discussion and if you did go the general sci-fi/horror route, you could cover several decades of films and break down those into several small sub-forums, too. That is exactly why I am inclined to go with general sci-fi/horror "KaijuFanatic" I'd definitely be interested in seeing anything you decide on, though. You'll have a front row seat. Mr Green I will, in all likelihood, start up this site in about two weeks. I will have to come up with a name for the site. If you, or anyone has any suggestions, regarding any of these possible themes, please post them in this thread. Thanks. :)

I wanted to use two other names but there were boards already using those titles on the internet. This site will have a general sci-fi/horror theme, with emphasis on classic science fiction and horror movies. I will open this site sometime in September, 2007. smiling jackass

Site founder - Your best nightmare Posts: 32,899 Group: Administrator(staff) Member #1 Joined: January 29, 2006 Favorite giant monster film: Gojira(1954) Favorite horror film: House Of Wax(1953) Favorite sci-fi film: 2001: A Space Odyssey(1968)	I have been struggling, as many of you may have noticed (tongue-1), for the last few months, trying to come up with a forum "skin" here at Monsterland Forums that would be generally liked by everyone visiting and by the registered members of this site. I have always favored certain colors in skins, such as black, blue, white, with dashes of red. Because I created this site for others, namely the members here at MF, I would like member's input here. Once I have received replies I will try and come up with a skin that most closely matches that of the replies. If I cannot come up with a skin I also have the option of asking the Invisionfree staffers at IFSZ(Invisionfree Skin Zone) to try and "match" a skin to this site based on the posted responses in this thread. All replies welcome. I like the current skin and it's combination of colors, but the banner appears a little too small when using the "post reply" or "quote" function during posting. The creator of this skin has not responded, so far, to my email about this irregularity. If you have general comments, questions, and/or complaints that are related to the overall appearance of this site please feel free to post them in this thread as well. I'll keep this topic open for several weeks, at the very least, to give everyone a chance to reply. :)

When I look at dark skins, Kimi, I absolutely take that into consideration, and you can believe that in the Invisionfree Skin Zone skin "inventory" there are dark skins galore that also have dark fonts, which make them very difficult to read. Any dark skin I use at Monsterland Forums will have a light(er) font, and the lettering will be readable. If you ever have a problem with any skin I install then PM me or contact me by email and I will change it. :)
