There are forums for sports, casual chat and video games as well. For those of you who like making art, writing stories and creating videos, our community includes a forum for these submissions as well. Check out our main index page and other board forums! Anyone is welcome to join our community!

MONSTERLAND FORUMS was created on January 29, 2006 for the purpose of giving fans of giant monster films and other sci-fi/horror movies a friendly online meeting place to discuss all of their favorite films and other things of interest like video gaming and sports.

MONSTERLAND FORUMS has 180,000 posts. This online community, while over twelve years old, is currently no longer as active as the early years(between 2007-2009). Still, we have a half dozen members who continue to participate here.

For those who enjoy giant monster movies be sure to check out THE MEG, opening in theaters on August 10th, 2018. This film, based on the 1997 book "Meg", written by Steve Alten, features an enormous, 75 foot long Megalodon shark! Other giant monster movies that we fans can look forward to: GODZILLA KING OF THE MONSTERS(in 2019) and GODZILLA VS KONG in 2020! PACIFIC RIM-UPRISING(2018), the sequel to 2013's "Pacific Rim", is about to release to Ultra 4k and Blu Ray. In these movies, 250 foot tall robots defend Earth from an assault of other worldly giant monsters(kaiju).

3. Labyrinth - The Original Soundtrack. (for my sister)
I suspect that your sister might also enjoy the score for The Dark Crystal, which was also composed by Trevor Jones. He's done a lot of great fantasy scores.

How long do you guys usually keep your Christmas trees up? heyo

My 6' artificial tree will stay up until after all the new year's college football bowl games are played(January 2).
Usually on January 1st or a few days after that.

This year's Christmas haul has been shorter but still pretty good. Received thus far:

1. two beautiful cotton shirts made by L.L. Bean, one short sleeve and the other long sleeve, from my landlord "Mrs. C"

2. $30 cash from a client I work for on my own

3. $50 cash from the contractor I work with part time

4. $750 cash from one of my best friends - part of this is due to work I've put in over the year creating and maintaining his website CHRISTIAN VOTE but a great deal of it is just his way of saying "Merry Christmas"

Been away for a few days and I thought I'd drop off an early Christmas present. I didn't buy anything because I am a cheap-skate, but here's my favorite Christmas song: Merry Christmas guys!

My favorite Christmas song. Ever.

AMC has been showing Christmas themed movies all week including both the original and remake of Miracle On 34th Street. The original was released back in 1947 and the remake was released in 1994. Edmund Gwenn and Richard Attenborough played Kris Kringle(aka Santa Claus) in both movies, respectively. I like both movies but enjoy watching the original, '47 film a litle more. Edmund Gwenn is perfect as "Kris Kringle". thumbz up

Pictured below: Edmund Gwenn as "Santa/Kris Kringle" and a young girl(played by Natalie Wood) who is initially skeptical(as is her mother) that Santa Claus is a real person.

Well, another uneventful Christmas for me this year which is okay by me. I've put up my 5' tall artificial Christmas tree in my living room area, set up a smaller, 2' tall artificial tree on my den area glass table and mailed off a dozen Christmas cards.

I typically budget about $100 to buy gift cards and a few gifts for my close friends.

Christmas day will be spent doing my family Christmas and possibly going to see The Hobbit 2 with my brother in law.

I have spent about $110 on gifts thus far for friends including:

-a $25 Lowes gift card for a close friend who lives nearby

-an Atlanta Falcons T-shirt(official NFL gear) & an Outback Steakhouse $25 gift card for the lawn maintenance contractor I work with

-a skin care gift set, a pair of DeWalt rainbow glinted safety glasses & two CDs(Lynyrd Skynyrd & Creedence Clearwater Revival) for one of my best friends who will be visiting from Dover, Delaware next week

-$20 cash for my Delaware friend's teenage daughter

I've got one more gift card to get for another friend and I'm finished.

As to what I've received thus far not much: $20 from a client of my boss but my landlord has just ordered an olve green colored fleece pullover shirt for me from L.L. Bean(a $50 fleece) and I'm expecting a check for several hundred dollars Monday or Tuesday of next week from a friend for some website work I do for him during the year.

As many of you know I work in retail and this season hasn't been so bad except for the last week which has been freaking nuts. Today was crazy and I'm expecting tomorrow to be no different. Oh well tomorrow is my last day and then I'll have three days off and the crazyness should subside for awhile.

Had a nice Christmas and got the following things:

Mom and Dad:
-My car fixed, it had a oil leak from the cooler lines so they paid for half of that I owe them $200.
-Cloths including a few shirts, couple pairs of jeans, a pair of work pants and a couple fleece coats. One of which I'll probably exchange for a hoodie.
-Axe deodrant kit which comes with shampoo and stuff so thats one less thing I'll have to buy for the new place.
-various candies in the stocking
-a new tooth brush.

Sister and Brother in Law
-A moving out kit including juice, candy and some other food stuffs
-deodrant, body wash, shaving cream.
-A $15 gift card to amazon I know have $45 plus next week I'll be getting a $97.xx one when I send my old text books back. So I'll have about $145 to spend there probably save that for the SHMA Biollante or a PS4.

That seems like a nice gift. In all of my years of renting, I've never had a property manager or land owner gift me any kind of "comp" whatsoever, despite excellent track records of paying rent on time and avoiding causing any disturbances. Wish there were more out there like this.

Golfers and tennis players often use these sports bracelets, which contain small magnets. Why? Some research suggests the ions from the magnets work to counteract the effects(inflammation) of arthritis and tendinitis.

I'm planning on buying a knee wrap with a magnet lining next month to wear on my troublesome right knee.

Well, I put up my 6' artificial Christmas tree a few days ago. I added another string of multi colored lights to it. Already bought and prepped about twenty(20) Christmas cards which I will begin mailing and/or handing out this coming week.

I typically budget about $100 on Christmas gifts(or gift cards) for a handful of people I know and I budget another $100 for some kind of gift for myself. This Christmas I'm going to gift myself the "Amityville Horror" Blu Ray movie set(all three movies on BD) and a couple more Blu Rays which I'll order from Amazon.
