Welcome to MONSTERLAND FORUMS! We are a casual and friendly online community of movie fans who like to talk about giant monsters, horror and sci-fi in cinema, on television and on Blu Ray/DVD. There are forums for sports, casual chat and video games as well. For those of you who like making art, writing stories and creating videos, our community includes a forum for these submissions as well. Check out our main index page and other board forums! Anyone is welcome to join our community!

MONSTERLAND FORUMS was created on January 29, 2006 for the purpose of giving fans of giant monster films and other sci-fi/horror movies a friendly online meeting place to discuss all of their favorite films and other things of interest like video gaming and sports.

MONSTERLAND FORUMS has 180,000 posts. This online community, while over twelve years old, is currently no longer as active as the early years(between 2007-2009). Still, we have a half dozen members who continue to participate here.

For those who enjoy giant monster movies be sure to check out THE MEG, opening in theaters on August 10th, 2018. This film, based on the 1997 book "Meg", written by Steve Alten, features an enormous, 75 foot long Megalodon shark! Other giant monster movies that we fans can look forward to: GODZILLA KING OF THE MONSTERS(in 2019) and GODZILLA VS KONG in 2020! PACIFIC RIM-UPRISING(2018), the sequel to 2013's "Pacific Rim", is about to release to Ultra 4k and Blu Ray. In these movies, 250 foot tall robots defend Earth from an assault of other worldly giant monsters(kaiju).

When I see it on CNN and there is a massive press conference then I'll buy it...photos don't do anything for me since they can be alter and/or staged.

I won't say it is a Chupacabra...but it's definitely something...I mean that's some good video...it looks like a mutated fox though.

Agreed. Prudence is in order until we get some kind of confirmation. Right now we're really in the dark about all this.

That "Chupacabra" doesn't look like any description I've ever heard of one. That snout is definitely weird, but who knows what it really is. As Trenton said, there's no reason to label it as a Chupacabra just yet.

One of the creepiest "Bigfoot" photos I've seen is this one, a shot taken in 1995 by an eastern Washington state park ranger who, hearing splashing noises in a creek below his parked car(on a remote secondary road), trained his camera on a large humanoid creature just as it looked up at him:

Wow, I remember that photo from somewhere. I never knew if it was real or where it came from, but I like it. Even if it's fake, it looks awesome.

The one reason why I remain open to the possibility that this creature exists is the sheer number of reported "sightings" and other accounts by various people. Are all of these folks suffering from overactive imaginations or drunken hysterics? To me it seems impossible that all of those reporting to have seen this creature, or something that looks like it, are simply making it up.

Here's a website that lists many of these sightings: http://www.oregonbigfoot.com/state_results.php?state=OR

I've seen arguments made against the possibility that such a creature exists, one of the primary arguments being that if a Sasquatch or other large, hairy hominid existed one would have been caught by now. There's some logic to that argument I suppose.

Most, if not all of these sightings take place in truly expansive, rugged areas of the United States. What's to say these things couldn't exist, able to shy away from human contact, for the most part, living off small game, nuts, berries, even tree bark. ?

That thing looks massive...I wouldn't have taken a picture of that thing...I would have shot it lol That's one thing I find crazy about these mysterious creatures...everyone is always looking at them or taking pictures. Let's be real for a moment, a REAL person is either going to attack or run away.

Well he does present a sound argument of what that thing is...in fact it's pretty damn believable. Add in the fact all we have is a photo and the carcass is "missing" or "unknown"...I'm going to have to say there isn't a monster...just the media run amok...again.

With advances in computers and nanotechnology many scientists now believe that humans and machines may one day merge...and that it might happen a lot sooner than you think: http://www.cnn.com/2008/TECH/07/15/bio.tech/index.html

My first thought after reading this article was "The Terminator" films: the creation of a super computer that, becoming self aware, turns on its creators, that is, humans and waging war on humanity.

Interesting article. If this happens during my lifetime, which I highly doubt, you can bet that I'd be the last one to integrate my biology with any kind of cybernetics. I'd prefer to die a regular human than live on as a machine.

The Shroud Of Turin has long been a source of debate among both scholars, historians and everyday folks. The fourteen foot long cloth is purported to be the burial cloth of Jesus Christ, and is imprinted with what appears to be an image of a bearded man that many believe is Jesus Christ. Twenty years ago carbon dating of the cloth concluded that the shroud was made sometime during the Middle Ages: assuming this is true the cloth would not be old enough to have indeed been such a burial cloth for Christ. Now an attempt is being made to run tests on the cloth again. Read more: http://news.aol.com/article/new-effort-begins-to-date-shroud-of/136760?icid=100214839x1207665014x1200423483

California and Alaska are obviously two of the most prominent, historically, quake zones in the continental United States. That does not mean earthquakes don't happen elsewhere in the U.S. because they have. Now a recent study suggests New York city may be at more risk than was previously thought for a potentially devastating earthquake: http://news.aol.com/article/study-finds-new-york-quake-dangers/145504?icid=100214839x1207980915x1200428359

The Farmers Almanac, a 192 year old publication that predicts weather patterns, and claims an 80-85% accuracy rate, is predicting colder than normal temperatures for most of the United States this coming winter. Only the far west and southeast will, according to this publication, maintain "normal" temps for this season. Read more: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080824/ap_on_re_us/farmers__almanac

In spite of the recent shenanigans involving Tom Biscardi and his two associates in the now infamous Bigfoot hoax, real work, and by real scientists, continues to be done in search of this alleged creature. One scientist in particular, Jeff Meldrum, a PhD in anthropology from Idaho State University, has collected over 200 plaster casts of footprints across North America, some over sixteen inches long. Dr. Meldrum believes, after extensive study of these casts, that many could not have been made by hoaxsters. Read more: http://www.newsweek.com/id/155355/page/1
