Whale sharks are benign, that is non-belligerent, and feed primarily on plankton and krill(tiny shrimp) that enter their mouths as these giants swim through the depths. Not sure how big whale sharks get, but I seem to recall that they generally average between 40-50 feet in length, with some specimens a little smaller. Megalodon sharks averaged, based on the consensus of scientists, between 40-52 feet in length and 20-25 tons in weight-some recovered fossilized vertebral remains and unusually large fossilized jawbones of these predators indicate that they often grew to even larger sizes, up to 70 feet in length and weighing 30 tons plus. The majority of marine biologists, Trent, believe that "Megs" became extinct some 10,000 years ago. Changes in the ocean's temperatures, brought on by climactic events, killed many of the species of fish that these enormous sharks preyed on. As the Meg's food sources waned so did the numbers of these giant predators, until they died off, unable to find sufficient food to carry on their numbers. Those scientists who believe these mammoth prehistoric sharks may still exist suggest the reason they may still live is because these giants went to deeper depths, looking for food, and finding it, remain there today, forever out of sight of mankind. It's certainly possible, IMO. Consider, Trent, that many of the world's oceans are home to some of the deepest places on Earth, like the Marianas Trench, it's depth five miles in places. It is fact that scientists know more about the surface of the moon than they do the deepest recesses of the world's oceans. It is speculated, by some scientists, that "Megs" could find ample sources of food at these great depths, preying on giant squid, sperm whales, orcas, even other sharks, like Great Whites and Hammerheads.
Yea I was interested in the length of whale sharks because they are pretty long but I know they ate plankton and other small prey. But it appears they are near the length of a typical Meg.
But it wouldn't surprise me if they ever found the carcass or anything like that of a Meg today. The ocean waters contain many mysteries as I have said before...but I think I rather have a Meg stay extinct or in the unknown, it would suck to be out in the ocean playing around and a Meg just comes out and has you for lunch lol

Indeed. I also prefer the scenario that they are extinct. A human being would be a snack for these predatory leviathans, who, because of their great bulk, would need to almost continuously feed in order to support their metabolisms.
Though this is a little off the beaten path I came across this link at another board. It's interesting, and a little humbling at the same time. The Earth, as you will discover from looking at this link, is a rather small place in the universe: The Earth in the grand scheme of things ...

Oh you didn't know our planet is nothing more than a bit of sand in this wacky universe? That's why it's easy for me to believe that there is other life out there...if we came to be on this planet, why can't it happen on other planets? Or maybe there was life on other planets before we came about you know? But our planet is laughable in size lol

Here's a link to an interesting page about giant sharks. Note that the great white shark in the image(at the top of the page), caught off the coast of Cuba in the 1940's, measured 21 feet in length and weighed 7100 lbs-that's over 3.5 tons. I believe this is still a record for largest great white shark ever caught. The page link: Giant sharks

That's a big shark if people are sitting on it and standing around it but you can still clearly see the shark shocking And people wonder why I don't go into the ocean waters that often lol

And people wonder why I don't go into the ocean waters that often
lol In my early and mid -teens I used to vacation with a childhood friend and his family every summer, for a week, in Daytona Beach, FL. The shark towers were always manned and on a handful of occasions everyone was called out of the water by the on duty lifeguards...because they had spotted sharks. Something else we would encounter periodically at the beach: box jellyfish, floating in the water. I was stung once by one that drifted by and made contact with my leg in shallow water. While the wound was not serious the pain was acute-it felt like I'd been stung by a lot of bees in one area of my leg. Box jellyfish would also wash up and die on the beach-you could always tell one by it's "bell", which looked like a mushed and half-rotten hamburger bun.

Shark towers? Oh my...as for jellyfish...never stung by one. I've heard that their sting hurts like hell but I'm not trying to find that out. And that is one big jellyfish...imagine getting stung by that guy

UFO's, or Unidentified Flying Objects, have also fascinated me since I was a kid. I will put up some videos I find of purported UFO sightings as I come across them, starting with this one: UFO video
Note Trent, the brief segment in which an object lurking partially behind the (former) NYC World Trade Center tower is filmed, allegedly, from a helicopter, then shoots upwards at top speed into the sky. I saw this footage several years ago and was startled.

Umm what was up with the Undertaker's theme music being used for UFOs? lol As for the actual subject of UFOs..well a few years back there was a big fuss over them here in the tri-state area because one night there were 5 to 7 "orbs" flying around the area in sync with each other. These orbs were sighted by thousands of commuters because it was around 6 to 7pm when they appeared. Many newspaper rain stories on these orbs and then all of sudden, everything was hushed up. It's more than obvious that "aliens" have visited this planet numerous times...my question is why does the government want to keep this under wraps? eh?

my question is why does the government want to keep this under wraps? That's a good question, one I have asked myself many times, and one that, I'm sure, is shared by many people. I own a book about a soldier who alleges to have personally witnessed the recovery, in 1947 at Roswell, NM, of an extraterrestrial saucer-shaped spacecraft and a pair of alien carcasses from the craft's innards. The recovery operation, prompted by the crash of this alien craft, was allegedly conducted in great secret by the military, that is, elements of the U.S. Air Force and Army. The soldier and author of this book states that the initial coverup was done to prevent attempts, by foreign nations, most notably the(then) Soviet Union, to try and sabotage and/or steal the craft's "technology" and dead aliens. The author also contends that the U.S. government, primarily the CIA, believed that revealing the crash of this spacecraft and it's subsequent sanctuary, presumably for scientific analysis and inspection, would have touched off a wave of panic and hysteria among the American populace. There are those within our government, Trent, that, IMO, fear that publicizing proof of aliens with hard, physical evidence, might shake the foundations of many major religions of the world. I can't really comment in depth on that because I am not very well versed in religion. I can tell you that it's quite believable, to me, that our government would quarantine, under a cloak of great secrecy, such a spaceship, if it indeed crashed in Roswell, NM in 1947, for the purpose of analyzing this craft for possible military applications. Think about it: a spacecraft that "flies" without the use of scramjets or other turbine-based propulsion applications like the ones commonly used with our own civilian and military aircraft. It is widely believed, Trent, among many scientists, that aliens visiting our planet probably use types of propulsion far more advanced than our own: Maglev, or magnetic levitation variants, advanced nuclear propulsion variations(based on fusion or fission reaction), or other types of propulsion that involve the manipulation of gravity.

Interesting book, I might have to pick that up one day. Some very good points are made but now my question is...what about the other governments? I'm sure there has been UFO sightings/encounters all over the world but yet we hear so very little about them. I can understand in the past governments would want to keep things under wraps but now? I doubt it will really "shake up" the world that much...well maybe religious (not a religious person myself) but not much else. I mean anyone with an average brain can figure out that some of the military weapons/equipment we have definitely didn't come from "us." I wonder what the future holds as far as aliens and humans are concerned.

Interesting book, I might have to pick that up one day. The book is called The Day After Roswell, written by Philip Corso. It's available at Amazon: "The Day After Roswell" @ Amazon.com

I'm sure there has been UFO sightings/encounters all over the world but yet we hear so very little about them You're right: there have been many alleged UFO sightings all over the world, and we still don't hear very much about them, especially in countries like China and North Korea, where the governments of these respective countries have been traditionally secretive about revealing any kind of info, in general about almost anything. Other countries that have historically been very closed off, from a media perspective, include Turkey, Russia, and Iran. Today, there is more media coming out of Russia about UFOs and related phenomena, to be sure.

I wonder what the future holds as far as aliens and humans are concerned Only time will tell, I suppose. Prediction: mankind will make first contact with extraterrestrials within the next 100 years.

This a short, and rare video of an alleged UFO that briefly flies around a Concorde jet-if you look closely you can see that there is indeed some kind of object moving around the plane: UFO "Concorde jet" footage

I question the creditable of that video clip...I mean it's in poor condition as far as video quality is concerned and it seems kind of fake to me. I mean they are just randomly recording a Concord in flight? I dunno...
