| Welcome to MONSTERLAND FORUMS! We are a casual and friendly online community of movie fans who like to talk about giant monsters, horror and sci-fi in cinema, on television and on Blu Ray/DVD. There are forums for sports, casual chat and video games as well. For those of you who like making art, writing stories and creating videos, our community includes a forum for these submissions as well. Check out our main index page and other board forums! Anyone is welcome to join our community! MONSTERLAND FORUMS was created on January 29, 2006 for the purpose of giving fans of giant monster films and other sci-fi/horror movies a friendly online meeting place to discuss all of their favorite films and other things of interest like video gaming and sports. MONSTERLAND FORUMS has 180,000 posts. This online community, while over twelve years old, is currently no longer as active as the early years(between 2007-2009). Still, we have a half dozen members who continue to participate here. For those who enjoy giant monster movies be sure to check out THE MEG, opening in theaters on August 10th, 2018. This film, based on the 1997 book "Meg", written by Steve Alten, features an enormous, 75 foot long Megalodon shark! Other giant monster movies that we fans can look forward to: GODZILLA KING OF THE MONSTERS(in 2019) and GODZILLA VS KONG in 2020! PACIFIC RIM-UPRISING(2018), the sequel to 2013's "Pacific Rim", is about to release to Ultra 4k and Blu Ray. In these movies, 250 foot tall robots defend Earth from an assault of other worldly giant monsters(kaiju). -Lee "Packmule" Merritt site founder |

Juices I drink on a weekly basis include: tomato juice(usually every AM), cherry juice, pomegranate cherry and regular pomegranate juice, and grape-cranberry juice. |

If you like orange juice I bet you'd probably like mango juice and also grapefruit juice. Grapefruit juice can be very tart-you might have to add a touch of sugar(and water) to it like I do. I drink cherry juice and pomegranate juice weekly because both have a high content of antioxidants, which are supposed to be good for the body. |

Neither did I, for the longest. One brand I drink is Old Orchard's Pomegranate-Cherry juice. I also drink a Walgreen's "house" brand of grape-cranberry juice. Also, I drink Ocean Spray cranberry juice from time to time. Here's Old Orchard's website: http://www.oldorchardjuice.com/juices/prem..._pom_cherry.htm Their "Pomegranate Cherry" and "Black Currant" juice is great! I usually pick mine up at Publix. |

I usually go for the "house" or generic brand juices because they're cheaper. Old Orchard's Pomegranate Cherry juice is $5 a container at Publix-you can order a case(8 containers) of this juice online at their website for $58 plus shipping-it ain't cheap to be a juicer these days.

Now that we're pretty well settled and not running around all the time, we have begun cooking meals in the house. I was actually sick to death of take-out food. Not that we have many choices in a small area like this, but we did them to death for a while! Dad did a roast chicken, last Sunday that was to die for. He squeezed fresh lemon juice over the top and salt and peppered the bird and then stuffed the bird with apples and the lemon. Oh My God! That was probably the best chicken I've ever eaten and I'm not a big fan of bone-in chicken. The skin was nice and crisp and the meat itself was so moist and tender.....I asked Dad to make another one, tomorrow. Mr GreenAlso, while in Canada, Dad got to talking about wanting to do canned pickles. Carol and I found one of those stoneware crocks used in making pickles and then Dad mentioned a particular favorite of his that the family dubbed; 'Dad's Horribles'. He said he'd had the recipe, either my Grandma or Granddad had written it down for him, but he'd lost it. We got back home and that first Sunday back, Dad and I were sitting at the kitchen table and we were looking at cookbooks I'd gotten from my Grandma, when we cleared out the house and written in Grandma's writing was this recipe and I began reading it out loud and Dad screamed that was the recipe! I was so happy. Carol and I found small cucumbers, last night and Dad went to get the ingredients for making the recipe, this AM and the pickles and brine are sitting in the stoneware crock and will be ready in two weeks. Some of the ingredients for this recipe....one entire cup of dry mustard, lots of vinegar and horseradish, just to name a few! Sounds horrible, but sure smells good.

Perhaps you could persuade him to make me one also. I'd be happy to pay for shipping. You could tell him it's for a good cause...my stomach. ![]() My father used to enjoy horseradish on his steaks. Me, I discovered, by accident one day as a kid, that this stuff is great for opening up one's sinuses.

I bet Dad would be thrilled to think anyone else thought his roast chicken was any good...he seemed shocked that we loved it! I've never warmed up to horseradish, as you say, the only thing I find the stuff any good for is clearing the sinuses. cross-eyed |

I chose all of them. I don't discriminate except to say that I don't eat anything I can't pronounce, and I don't eat any meat, or part of meat that I wouldn't buy myself in a grocery store. The best part about living in New York City, is that we have access to all of those types and more. Edited by Black Angel, Aug 13 2008, 02:55 PM.

I was at a friend's wedding back in 2005 and. because I was going to be driving the groom's pickup truck home while he and his bride were off to Australia for two weeks(honeymoon), I had to abstain from alcohol at the wedding reception. The beverages available at this reception were Perrier, wine and non-alcoholic beer(I forget the brand). I opted for the non-alcoholic beer because I've never liked wine and after sampling the Perrier I spat it back out in a nearby garbage receptacle. I was pleasantly surprised by the non-alcoholic beer, which reminded me of Heineken and Amstel, but obviously without the inebriation that ordinarily would follow from the alcohol content of a regular beer. |
