That would be correct. Mr Green I really only care for cherry and grape-flavored Kool-Aid, but would give another flavor or two a try.

Thread drift: while in the U.S. Navy we had a nickname for the various fruit punch drinks prepared and served in my ship's wardroom(a dining area where officers ate): bug juice. I have no idea how this nickname came to be. shifty eyes

Topic: there are several other non-alcoholic refreshments enjoyed by yours truly, and on a frequent basis:

Nestle's Strawberry and Banana-flavored milk

Yesterday, Carol decided to finish up the turkey leftovers...thank God! She found a recipe online and made it up for dinner, last night. Basically, she ground the turkey up in a food processor and added onions, ketchup, brown sugar and Worchestershire sauce and then put that over white rice. It was quite tasty! Mr Green There was still some turkey leftover, so rather than make up the dish she did for dinner, she made turkey salad, so she took some into work for her lunch and I can have a sandwich, here, too. thumbs up

Just when I thought I was finished eating turkey leftovers, that is, as of this past Wednesday, my landlord, Mrs. "C", just gave me a large plastic container...full of turkey soup. tongue-1

I might add that the soup is good. groink!

Turkey soup sounds good. :) My Dad makes a mean soup, but it's so funny, he uses whatever leftovers he has, so it seems he never or rarely makes two soups alike. tongue-1

Chunky soups are great, I sometimes have a bad habit of say, eating the vegetable beef or sirloin burger right out of the can....cold. That gags a lot of people around me, but I don't mind it at all. Mr Green

I've been known to eat lots of different types of food cold: soups, pizza, hamburger, hot dogs, spaghetti, beefaroni, and even chili. groink!

 I always used the 'half-sammich' effort for the perfect spaghettis sandwich.....obviously, the spaghetti must be cold and I always made my spahetti sauce with meat, so it bulked it up a bit. Put a wee bit of the cold, leftover spaghetti on a slice of bread, fold her over and enjoy! Mr Green

Hahahaha The peanute butter and salad dressing sandwich came about because Dad was caring for me after school one day, when I was in Kindergarten. We were going over the the high school football field to watch practice, I guess and we were out of jelly, so Dad made the sandwich with what was on hand. I still love them, but mayo is not recommended...too heavy and too eggy tasting! freak out

Having attended college with some unusual characters, and I use the word "unusual" very generously here( tongue-1 ), I also witnessed some equally unusual(to me anyway) cuisine in the mess hall, mostly created by cadets at their respective tables. Among the more memorable things seen being consumed by guys in Coward Hall, The Citadel's mess facility:

Ham and ketchup sandwiches
ketchup on scrambled eggs
ketchup on grits
pure honey poured on fried chicken, then eaten
peanut butter on bananas
various jellies/jams mixed in with grits
grape jelly spread on country fried steak freak out
peanut butter on french fries dead
peanut butter on apples
peanut butter on hot dogs crazy
Heinz 57 sauce on scrambled eggs

I know a lot of folks look shocked in other areas, when I put ketchup on scrambled eggs, but I think this is kind of the norm, in this area.

As for peanut butter on bananas, I liked grilled banana and peanut butter sandwiches. Mr Green

I would be inclined to think so as well. The reason: I eat at a local Waffle house close to my residence every other week and I frequently see other patrons there applying ketchup to their scrambled eggs and hash browns. I also saw a woman pour ketchup all over her mashed potatoes. freak out

Waffle House is definitely a favorite place of mine to dine, Kimi, and is another locale where Packmule=pig at the trough. groink!

 I'd never eaten in a Waffle House, until two years ago, when Carol and I were on our way to Florida and we ate at such a place in South Carolina. Pretty good food!

Yes, ketchup is used on scrambled eggs, hash browns/homefries and some even put it on macaroni and cheese! I pass on that!

It is kind of humorous to see how some folks eat certain things. I know most of my eating habits were learned by how my parents seasoned my food and such and some have been picked up while at school or work, but some things that would make me cringe and gag, seem to be perfectly natural to others and vice versa. Yes, and it also often horrifying, for me, to see this also. Example: watching a female at a Waffle House put ketchup on her green beans. Other examples would be some college classmates of mine, who often set aside their sanity, coupled with a state of total inebriation, and consumed unusual things...like a live frog, or a small cockroach. freak out

cheeky sick smiley

Back when I was a very wee lass, my paternal grandparents used to have some very odd cuisine mixed in with the usual fare on Christmas Day. I'm not sure where they picked the stuff up, but I recall a few items......frog's legs (I actually liked this as a kid), chocolate covered ants, grasshopper, baby octopus, etc....etc....etc. They also had caviar and we have a priceless photo of Mom trying it for the first time and the horrible look on her face.

About 10 years ago, Dad decided to have a more 'upscale' Christmas Eve snack and he purchased a small amount of caviar and we also had champagne. It was nice and something different, but even if I could afford caviar, it wouldn't be a staple of my diet! Not bad, but not what I'd choose to snack on, if I had my druthers. ;)

Speaking of gluttony and other unusual eating habits, I once entered, on a dare, a hot dog eating contest, back in 1984, my senior year in college. Take my advice, when it comes to hot dog eating contests, Kimi: don't enter one. tongue-1

No. In fact, for about two days after my vain attempt at consuming an insane amount of hot dogs in fifteen minutes, the slightest thought of eating anything made me nauseated. freak out

Can you eat hot dogs, now or did that experience kind of sour you on them? Also, what was your final count? :)

My dislike for hot dogs was, despite my decision to participate in this absurd contest, surprisingly short-lived.
"KaijuFanatic"

I can't give an approximate number because I was a) very drunk and B) it was about 22 years ago( tongue-1 ). If I recall after about fifteen minutes I had consumed around 18 or 19. The winner of this contest, if I remember right, had eaten around 30. freak out
