Other giant monster movies that we fans can look forward to: GODZILLA KING OF THE MONSTERS(in 2019) and GODZILLA VS KONG in 2020! PACIFIC RIM-UPRISING(2018), the sequel to 2013's "Pacific Rim", is about to release to Ultra 4k and Blu Ray. In these movies, 250 foot tall robots defend Earth from an assault of other worldly giant monsters(kaiju).

no-bake cookie

What is that?

You melt chocolate with some peanut butter and butter...probably a few other minor ingredients I haven't thought of and then toss in 'quick cook' oats. Then you stir those in the melted mixture and plop them out on wax paper....I love 'em!

I give you credit, Lee, you at least try to cook.....that's a lot more than some folks, men or women are willing to do. I must admit, I do a lot less cooking than I should. Carol's a wonderful cook and enjoys trying out new recipes, so I make out like a bandit, most of the time. dancing admin

Sounds tasty. I'll try and make them this weekend. If you hear a squealing sound in the overnight hours that'll be me, eating these like a pig at the trough. groink!

Believe it or not, at various banner and other computer graphics freeware sites on the internet, there are already "Countdown to Halloween" graphics up and available for download... freak out

:<!--emo&lol:-->Posted Image<!--endemo--> Be warned, they are so tasty, it's tough to stop at just one! Here's an easy recipe for them, Lee....

CHOCOLATE NO-BAKE COOKIES
2 Cups Sugar
1/2 Cup Margarine
1/2 Cup Milk
1 Teaspoon Vanilla
4 Tablespoons Cocoa
1/2 Cup Peanut Butter
Dash of Salt
3 Cups Oatmeal

Mix sugar, margarine, vanilla, cocoa, milk and salt and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Boil for about 2 minutes and then add the peanut butter and oats. Remove immediately from the stove and drop by spoonful on waxed paper or you can spread the mixture in a buttered or non-stick sprayed pan and cut into squares, once the meixture has set. If you prefer the peanut butter no-bakes to chocolate, omit the cocoa and increase the peanut butter to 1 cup.

I know, I often scratch my head when I see salt added to any 'sweet' recipe, but it doesn't come across in the end result taste, so that's good.

lol

Sometimes all I have to cook is instant ramen. tongue-1

Ghost, you might like the Maruchan cups of noodle soup-I eat them practically every week. Simply boil water and pour into the (halfway) open cup, then fold the lid back over and wait a few minutes. That's it. Favorites from these cup of noodles:

Jalapeno cheddar
Cheddar cheese
Chili piquin with shrimp
Lime and chili chicken
Lime and chili shrimp

These cup o'noodles also taste great mixed with small pieces if baked chicken, or small pieces of rotisserie chicken. groink!

Perhaps your family is the reason you still look forward to Christmas. I believe that may be why I don't: because I don't have any family anymore. confused

The core of my family....Mom, Dad, Skeet and Michael all enjoy it and we all seem to have the same enjoyment of the holiday....I might be a wee bit extreme, but they aren't too far off. My Grandmother seems to get depressed around the holiday and she said it's because she misses the fun and excitement of when her kids were little and my Grandfather was still living. Grandma remarried, gee, probably 33 years ago, but her husband, while not a Grinch, isn't a big fan of holidays, I guess.

Oh gosh, yes and honestly, is there anything worse in the fridge or on the counter, than spoiled poultry!? cheeky sick smiley When Skeet and Jeannie's little one was born, Skeet spent all the time at the hospital and forgot they had chicken in the fridge to be cooked.....several days later, we all gathered at the house, when Olivia came home and woo-hee! That was some mighty foul smelling chicken!

My girlfriend, Gloria, has raised a little hell with me on occasion for forgetting to remove perishable leftovers from her fridge during my visits to her house on alternating weekends. She works on some Saturdays for a half-day-in her absence I do a little yard work around her house, and then lounge around in her livingroom watching TV until she gets home. On some visits I bring food leftovers if she has told me(in advance) that she doesn't have much to eat in her fridge. The problem: sometimes I place uneaten leftovers in her fridge behind other items, then forget about them...until the middle of the following week when I get a call from Gloria, not happy about the rotting food left behind in her fridge. :ph43r: ... lol

:<!--emo&lol:-->Posted Image<!--endemo--> Nothing turns my stomach quicker than the smell or even look of rotten food. cheeky sick smiley I used to be kind of bad, when I was still working and replacing some items wasn't such a big deal....like food storage containers. If I suddenly found a storage container that had been hidden behind anything for a while and I could see the growth of green fuzz, rather than open the container and dispose of the offending food, the entire container would get tossed! <_<

The only thing worse, IMO, than the sight or smell of rotting food...is cleaning out an entire refrigerator full of it. freak out

Other things Gloria gets after me about:

-forgetting to take out her garbage

-forgetting to clean out her bathroom sink sometimes after shaving ( freak out )

-tracking mud/dirt through the back door foyer of her house after working out in her backyard gardens

-washing dishes sometimes and forgetting to use hot water... tongue-1

-putting the washing machine on the wrong setting for certain clothes. Example: last year one of my red t-shirts got mixed in with a couple of her white summer shorts-upon removal from the washing machine my shirt was dark pink colored and her shorts had red streaks in them freak out

My Grandma had one of those very large freezers and unbeknownst to her, the freezer had stoppde working. My cousin went to the basement to get some corn she had frozen, to take to her place and Grandma heard a horrible shriek....the freezer held my cousin's frozen corn, but also tons of chicken and maggots had filled the cover of the freezer and when my cousin opened it, she rammed her head in to grab the corn and was hit, not only by the horrid smell of rotting chicken, but tons of maggots, which feel into her hair! cheeky sick smiley

Skeet and a friend of his hauled the freezer into the yard and took sledge-hamemrs and popped holes in the sides of the freezer, so the water could run out and the freezer could be lifted into the back of a truck and carted away. I think the freezer was about 5-6 feet long and quite deep...the smell would have knocked you over!

I actually once was just about knocked on my ass by an odor. I was rummaging through our family garage one Saturday afternoon looking for something my father had requested, as he was working in the basement of our house. I happened upon an unmarked container of ammonia, took the cap off and took in a full, deep, whiff. freak out It was as if someone had fired a blowtorch up into my sinus cavities. freak out I staggered out of the garage-my mom came out, I told her what happened, between coughs and gags. She called my doctor, who was also a family friend, who told her not to worry as the burning in my eyes and nostrils would pass. It did, eventually, but the memory of that sniff remained in my head for a long, long time. dead

That made my stomach hurt, just reading about that!

That's not the only time I had an "accident" of sorts, around our house. A few others, that occurred while I was a teenager:

-I was playing a game of "h-o-r-s-e" with a co-worker of my father's in our driveway(we had a basketball goal mounted on the front face of the garage) and landed on the guy's foot, badly spraining my ankle. I had turned my ankle once while playing in a church league basketball game but it wasn't major like this-I was on crutches for nearly a month, and had to wear an ace bandage for two more weeks. On the plus side it got me out of a lot of yard work. tongue-1

-once while playing pitch and catch with baseball gloves and a baseball, with a childhood friend and neighbor in our spacious backyard, my mother called to me from the back door of the house. I looked back at her and, while distracted, was hit in the side of the face by the baseball my friend had just thrown to me. Luckily, he didn't throw the ball very hard, or I might have lost some teeth. As it was the side of my face swelled up pretty good, and I had to ice it a lot for several days.

-while in our high school library studying a friend at the end of a table, responding to my request that he reach over and hand me a particular book, instead tossed it. The book, a hardcover, struck me in the face under my left eye. The wound was bloody but not very painful-my friend who tossed the book freaked as I was escorted down to the school infirmary. He felt very guilty-I had to assure him repeatedly that I knew it was an accident and didn't have any hard feelings about it. I even went so far as to suggest that the infirmary nurse give my friend a sedative, in order to calm his ass down. tongue-1 I think he was more worried about how his parents, who were very strict, might have reacted, had they found out about this incident.

-my mother once, by accident, closed the door to her car on my hand. freak out She opened the door immediately after I yelled out-she took to me to our family doc who said my hand was okay. I had some tingling and mild numbness in some fingers, which he said was normal, and would pass, which it did. My mother nearly came to tears over this, and I had to remind her it was just an accident, and that these things happen. I was surprised somewhat to see her so hard on herself about this, but I think it was just her motherly concern getting the best of her, momentarily. I have no problem admitting that, even now, twenty-four years after her death, I still miss my mother. :(

Wow, some pretty good hits you've absorbed, Lee. shock I've actually fared better at home, but took some serious hits at work, over the years. Away from work, I've:

-When just learning to walk, I took a serious tumble into the corner of a coffee table, gouged a spot very close to my left eye....I still carry a scar from that, to this day.

-I was living with my great-Aunt/Uncle and cousin, who was my age and while I was always used to chores, my cousin was much younger than her older brother and sisters and thus, very spoiled, so chores was a new experience for her. Anyway, we were both mowing the lawn, I was doing the main part of the yard and she was doing the smaller area and trimming. I was finished with my part and was walking into the house for a cold drink, when a stone flew out of her mower and caught me directly in the eye. Thankfully, I closed the eye just as it hit and while it hurt like hell and took me to my knees, no serious damage, other than a black eye and an overly sensitive eye for several weeks.

-Anyone remember the 'Creepy Crawlers' maker? It was molds that you could squeeze this rubber/gel stuff into and it made all kinds of disgusting bugs and such. Well, Mom bought one for me at a garage sale and I was thrilled, in spite of having a serious aversion to bugs, I loved stuff like that. Mom told me she was going to hook it up and help me make some goodies and she was true to her word, but she also told me to NOT try and remove the rubbery creepies on my own and being about 7 or 8, I couldn't listen or wait and took a sharp knife and attempted to pry a creepy crawler out....what I managed to do was stick the knife through my thumb. Knowing I was going to probably have a sore behind to go along with my sore thumb, I lied, as Mom was tending to my brother and told her I'd cut my finger on the metal plate. I still carry that scar on my thumb. tongue-1

-While still living with my Aunt and Uncle, I bought something, can't even think of what it was, now, but was down in their basement, attempting to remove the large object from it's box. I was using a utility knife/razor and while running the blade along the cardboard box, it slipped and I proceeded to run the razor along my shin. I probably needed stitches, but not wanting them, I doctored myself up as best I could and had the plant nurse, where I worked, check it the next day...knowing it was far too late for stitches and she was horrified that I let it go. Another scar I carry for being a wee bit careless.

-I've sprained fingers, arms, legs,, wrists and ankles over the years, while playing various sports or games at home, but thankfully, no broken bones.

Same here. thumbs up

Other foibles resulting in injuries, of sorts:

-once while playing in a P.E. class soccer game in high school I absorbed a corner kick direct to my crotch area. freak out After lying on the ground for a few minutes in the fetal position, and making sure my privates were still intact, I was able to get up and walk off the field. It felt as if a wrecking ball had slammed into my b*lls. freak out

-once during baseball practice in high school I misjudged a fly ball in the sun and it glanced off the top of my head. Good thing I'm hard headed, and it's especially good that it didn't happen in a game. tongue-1

-once, in high school, and trying to catch up with a girl down the hallway I wanted to ask out, I stumbled and fell down about half a flight of steps. To add insult to injury the girl wouldn't go out with me either. dead

Ouch!

Once, nearing the end of school before the Summer break, our PE class was pretty mugh allowed to do, whatever, as long as we didn't just sit and not do something. We put together a softball game and I was up to bat. A classmate pitched and without a glove and I connected solidly and left him in a fetal position and vomiting on the ground. He spent the rest of the school day in the nurse's office with ice packs. freak out

Walking the school halls to a class, my best friend leaped to see if she could hit a hanging exit sign.....I think this is a cheerleader/matmaid thing and I looked up to see what she was doing.....just as she made the descent and her elbow connected solidly with my nose.

While at Mom's while still in school one time, I was coming down their steps, having just sharpened my pencil and didn't realize I was holding the point up.....I slipped on the stairs and jammed the pencil, point first, up my nostril. Boy, did that bleed!

When I was in first grade, awaithing school to be dismissed, I received my papers to take home and show off and because I'd never experienced a 'paper-cut' and wasn't even aware there was such a beast, I took a paper, stuck it between two fingers and proceeded to pull it between my fingers...on the webbing. It still makes my stomach hurt, when I think about that. cheeky sick smiley I learned a very valuable lesson, that day! ;)

In chemistry class in 11th grade, my lab partner spilled acid all over, including my hand. Luckily, our teacher was nearby and she crammed my hand in a sink of ice-cold water and I spent the next class in the nurse's office, but no scars!

That's an impressive list of accidents and close calls-thankfully nothing too serious. In addition to my accidents I was also the subject of several pranks in high school, all good-natured of course, though I admit I wasn't really 100% sure at the time( freak out ):

-once in 9th grade biology class a classmate, while I was away at a sink rinsing out my beaker, tied the legs of my dead, fromaldehyde'd cat to the knob at the end of the window blinds control line, and yanked on the line as I returned, the cat shooting upwards and colliding with the ceiling. lol

I was once the recipient of the dreaded "ex-lax" brownies-after consuming several, and not aware they had been laced with the laxative, I soon was making repeated, and obviously quite urgent trips to the restroom, much to the amusement of the shysters that had given me the brownies to begin with. thumbs down 2
