Josh, have you seen this site?

http://www.ufcundisputed.com/#/home
Yes, and I've played the demo for the game on Playstation 3. It was surprisingly pretty good, though probably not a game I'll buy, at least not until the price drops. As far as fighting/martial arts games go, Street Fighter 4 is still taking up my time and interest.

Kongo is a beast of a man, and a hell of a striker, but his weakness has always been his ground game. Heath Herring exposed it in their fight and it's only natural for a wrestler like Velasquez to go for a similar strategy. Kongo almost knocked Velasquez out when they were standing, but Velasquez recovered and was eventually throwing Kongo around like a rag doll, which really shouldn't have been happening considering Kongo's size advantage.

Because Tim Sylvia got his butt kicked in only 9 seconds against a 48 year old Ray Mercer, he now will not be permitted to face Paul Buentello at Affliction 3 on August 1st:

Thanks for the info, Josh. thumbz up

What I like about Randy Couture:
Quote:

In 13 of his last 14 bouts, he has either defended or fought for a championship. Furthermore, nine of the 20 men against whom he has battled wore UFC gold at some point in their careers

I saw a replay of the fight where Frank Mir defeated Noguiera.

Should be an interesting fight between two tough and accomplished veterans.

Noguiera really didn't look himself in in that fight with Mir...not really sure why he tried to stand with Mir so long.

Sadly, both Couture and Noguiera are past their prime but are already living legends in the sport of MMA. I'm hoping for a great fight, hate to see either of them lose, but I'm sure there will be plenty of respect either way once these guys step into the octagon.

The results of Saturday's Ultimate Fighter 9 finale:

The main event featuring Diego Sanchez vs. Clay Guida was one of the best fights I've seen in awhile.

I'm going to go with Lesnar...I think he's probably learned alot since that last fight and he won't let himself get caught as easily.

A blogger has brought up the possibility for a knockout scenario in the August showdown of Gina Carano and Cyborg Santos...it would be the first for either of these women:
http://www.mmaweekly.com/blog/2009/06/cyborg-vs-carano-first-knockout-on.asp

Any thoughts on this, Lee? I'm still thinking decision, but you never know, thse are the two top-ranked women in MMA...

I'm thinking that, with all due respect to Gina Carano, The Cyborg is going to submit her. winky

From the article:

Will one of them be going to sleep on August 15 in San Jose?
very funny

I believe Gina Carano will be the one who has to be woken up after this fight.

The main event featuring Diego Sanchez vs. Clay Guida was one of the best fights I've seen in awhile
I saw a replay of this fight on TV this afternoon, Josh on the "Versus" cable channel. Diego Sanchez started fast, striking away in a frenzy at Guida and really trying to unload some serious uppercuts. To Guida's credit he hung in there, took the initial punishment and then unleashed a can of whoop ass of his own on Sanchez, working Sanchez on the floor. Both Sanchez and Guida fought hard: Guida in particular, a man after my own heart who fought for most of this fight like a wild animal.

I couldn't believe the amount of blood on the floor of the ring after this fight: I've seen less blood on the floor of a slaughterhouse than what was left on the ring floor after the Sanchez-Guida fight. freak out
