^^ Totally agreed. You had the Sea battle which was like nothing we, as Godzilla fans, had never seen before. Godzilla taking out gondo in the building in Osaka. And the Bad-a$$ed was Godzilla came marching out of Mt. Mihara was awesome.

I remember, Yuri, watching a short promo for Godzilla Vs Biollante(1989) on the "Cinemax" cable channel. It was 1993 and I was living in an apartment up in Roswell, GA(north of Atlanta). I remember that daylight sea battle between Godzilla and the warships, as well as Godzilla vs the Super X2 at sea. I got really fired up to see the film but for some reason missed it when it came on Cinemax.

It wasn't until two years later, in 1995, that I finally saw this film(lbx w/eng subs): I bought it and a whole bunch of other Godzilla films on bootleg VHS from a guy up in New York calling himself Vicious Video(now out of business).

Colonel Gondo remains one of my all time favorite characters in all the Godzilla movies. He was tough, very self confident but also a bit arrogant. His one liner to Godzilla in this sequence, in the English dubbed version of the film, is one of my favorite quotes from any character in a G film:

"Stick to smoking. That intravenous stuff will kill you."

very funny

Well said! gotta admit, the effects for the second biollante, she was so stunning that she actually looked gigantic! as i've mentioned, the TC fight was one of the greatest G momments i've ever seen and one of the greatest events when i first saw it. it will be a cherished memorie.

In one of the interviews on monsterzero, he thought that the music playing durring the Saudi-Arabian scenes was total bull crap and that he would have looked up actual Arabian music...

wow. my heroe's a real dush. but this isn't the only time he's been ticked off, in mothra vs godzilla, him and honda were fueding about a scene, akira said there should be no music, honda said there should and thats how it happened, during the premiere, when the scene played akira gave honda a dirty look, makes me laugh every time!

If I'm not mistaken you're referring to the scene in Mothra Vs Godzilla where Godzilla(his head) appears over the hill top after the hysterical man hollers at the policeman that there are still children on Iwa(Iwo ?) Island. Ifukube thought no audio was necessary for this sequence and Inoshiro Honda disagreed.

That Akira Ifukube and Inoshiro Honda may have disagreed on occasion about things tells me, more than anything else, that they surely had a good working relationship. Those who work together often are always going to disagree about something. That doesn't mean these two men, both masterful at their craft, didn't remain mutually respectful of each other. winky

Actualy, Honda got along with everyone. In fact, that was the only time Ifuhube and Honda fought. Tsuburaya never fought with Honda. The only one I could see fighting with Honda is Tanaka, since Tanaka wanted to keep Goji in popular eye...

Tanaka was always like that, i heard he wasn't too happy that the godzilla series ended in 1975, and tried alot to et it started again.

If by "his" you're referring to Tomoyuki Tanaka, wasn't Eiji Tsuburaya responsible for the inclusion of the Godzilla "dnacing shie" sequence?
