Evan, I'd like you to explain to me why you would make a comment like this about Michael Jackson's death. A person of common decency wouldn't make a disparaging remark like this. This comment is, frankly, something I consider despicable. I don't consider this man's death, or anyone's death(with the exception of a very few individuals in history) to be something to be thankful about. Michael Jackson's contributions to the music industry were enormous and arguably immeasurable. His charitable contributions to charities were considerable and well known. The positive influence he had on millions of fans of his music the world over is undeniable...whether you liked his music or not.

You disgust me. This is the worst display of indecency I've seen in weeks. That being said, it's unfortunate to see Michael Jackson go. He made some fantastic music in his time and contributed greatly to modern music. |

I really can't believe you said that They say death comes in three and that maybe true. We've lost some great people this week. Much respect to Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson. All three will be greatly missed. |

I was never a big follower of Michael Jackson, Farah Fawcett, or Ed McMahon, but they were all part of the human family. So they will be missed. |

I've posted the "Thriller" video in my Google blog, beuase I believe this video captures the essence of the late Michael Jackson as both a singer and an entertainer. To see the video click the link: http://packmule84.blogspot.com/2009/06/michael-jackson-1958-2009.html |

Hearing about all these deaths is really becoming a downer...wow. Billy Mays was mildly annoying when he was pitching all those tv products, but I watched a couple episodes of that "Pitchmen" show where he trained those future salesman prospects and it really helped display Billy's personal side - he was quite a funny guy. Another sad loss. |

That is a question that has been asked by people for time memoriam. If you ever figure out the answer let me know. Here's what a Google search produced with your question in the "search" box": http://www.google.com/search?q=why+is+life+so+cruel&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a I asked this question aloud to myself just last week after reading an internet article about a young Iranian girl, eight or nine years old(I can't remember her exact age), who was severely burned by white phosphorus, a material packed inside a rocket that exploded in her home. The rocket was launched by US forces who were trying to destroy some elements of the Taliban still entrenched in the Afghan suburb where this young girl and her family lived, and was apparently an "accident" of some kind by the US military. She was what the military often refers to as "collateral damage", a civilian casualty of the Afghan conflict. One moment this child is helping her parents make breakfast and the next she is being airlifted to a local US military hospital. I looked at the images of this burned child and it was like a lead weight had been strapped to my heart. Though US military doctors are helping this girl she will probably spend the rest of her life disfigured and in constant pain. This story brought a tear to my eye. When I see things like this happen to people, in particular children, I ask the question "Why is life so cruel?" |
