I am putting this into the Mature Discussion section because this is series. First, here is the total number of cats I have had in my life time: Cats: 8 Dogs: 2 Gerbils: 8 (six were babies that died) Guinie Pigs: 2 Ferrits: 2 Fish: 6 Birds: 4 total: 32 (highest number of pets for a given date is 4 cats, 2 fish, 1 dog, 4 birds, and 2 guinei pigs) And so being a pet lover, I feel sad when thoes commercials for wanting to help animals come on. And another sad thing is that most of us can't pay for it. But it can be free - just by clicking once a day at thiese links: http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/clickToGive/home.faces?siteId=3 http://www.bigcatrescue.org/icare.htm it takes only 3 minutes total a day. Over 20 days, that is an hour... Click to help our pets! |

I have edited the topic title and also pinned this thread. I support any sites that legitimately support the humane treatment, feeding and sanctuary of animals. I will perform some "clicks" daily at the posted link in the thread starting post. Why would these ads make you feel sad? If it's because you cannot donate $ then think again: you can drop by a local pet shelter in your area and donate $10 a month, or thereabouts. Even a small amount like that would still be accepted by a pet shelter and appreciated. |

I understand. If donating $10 a month is more than you do then donate your time instead at one of these pet shelters. You can also ask your mom to make a donation every month to one of these shelters.

That is what I plan to do. But my mother can't donate either. We lived on wellfare checks. Once dad died, it ended. We had insurence, but it was eaten up because we decided to buy a house and get out of our appartment. |

It sounds like things were hard on you and your mother after your father died, which is most unfortunate. I'd like to think that these kinds of things are tests, if you will, that life throws at us to see what we're made of. Does your mother work outside the home? |

![]() I hope you can secure a decent paying job but don't be too picky either. I'm not suggesting you take any job either. Just be open minded and realistic about the kind(s) of jobs you can do. You have an opportunity here, G2K, and once you're working part time(or full time) outside the home, to help your mother financially, with some of the money you earn from a job you get.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with anything you've listed but keep an open mind about your future. ![]() Ordinarily I would encourage any young(er) person to move out of their home and establish their independence as soon as possible while in the work force. Obviously your situation might make you feel, and justifiably, obligated to remain at home and help your mother. |
