"Blindingly obvious?" Perhaps to you, a person of advanced intellect and God like intelligence and power, it is. To others who remain grounded in average to slightly above average intelligence and are not as informed about the world military-political "arena", it probably isn't. topper tongue-1
Those of average intellect you speak of would include me, and yet I still find it painfully obvious that there is no way Al Qaeda would NOT move for Iraq if the Americans pulled out, and yet they simply have to, at this point.

Ach well. Here's to hoping the American government rearranges the development of the bailout.

Conservative radio talk show host and author Rush Limbaugh recently gave a speech at CPAC(Conservative Political Action Conference) in Washington, DC. Limbaugh blasted President Obama's economic stimulus plan and derided liberal Democrats for wanting to exert further control over the American people. Here's a video that includes a brief segment of Limbaugh's speech and also some analysis of the remarks:

President Obama, shortly after entering office, established a "Middle Class Task Force", a group of people, including Vice President Joseph Biden, who would meet monthly at various locations around the U.S., and with middle class Americans, to discuss ways to improve the quality of life of this category of American citizenry. By definition "middle class" American generally refers to any American(s) whose working income falls between $30,000-100,000 per year, before tax. Interestingly enough, none of the appointees to this "middle American task force" actually are middle class Americans: they're all high income wage earners: http://news.yahoo.com/s/time/20090304/us_time/08599188291300

Here's a question from me to Barack Obama: how can anyone on this task force possibly help any middle class Americans if there isn't at least one member of this task force who is in the same category of those Americans this group has been assembled to try and help?

It isn't likely, at least to me, that this task force can likely identify with anything the American middle class is going through right now during this prolonged economic downturn in the United States, especially when the minimum wage earner on this task force makes $172,000 per in salary.

VP Joseph Biden, of all people, would be the most misplaced selection for a task force like this, considering he's been a long time politician and what I like to call a Washington "fat cat".

This task force, IMO has as much chance of coming up with plausible ways of helping the American middle class as that of seeing a flock of flying pigs over Washington, DC.

Another great decision by our new Commander In Chief, Barack Obama. Well done. vomitard

This is the first I'm hearing about this "middle-class task force." In concept, I like the idea. But you may have a point about the lack of middle-class members. At least they are meeting with the middle-class. I hope that something good will come of this, but I'll just have to wait and see.

President Barack Obama will soon be reversing limits, set in place by former president George W. Bush, regarding stem cell research and the use of embryonic stem cells to effect this research: http://news.aol.com/main/obama-presidency/article/obama-stem-cell/344184

I am very satisfied. This means that very many embryos will be put to good use instaed of being thrown in the trash.

Well, I don't condone abortion. But if there's nothing I can do about it, I'd at least like something good to come from it.

I like your attitude towards this. As I've found, a lot of Americans begin screaming "Abortion is wrong!" whenever this issue is brought up, disregarding the fact that the issue isn't about abortion itself; that has been settled, and abortion won. This issue is about a byproduct that can be put to good use rather than be wasted for nothing.

A Democratic party controlled Congress is set to send President Obama a $410 billion spending bill: http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/29613324

From this article:

Quote:

And, to the embarrassment of Obama — who promised during last year's campaign to force Congress to curb its pork-barrel ways — the bill contains 7,991 earmarks totaling $5.5 billion, according to calculations by the Republican staff of the House Appropriations Committee
This would seem to indicate, at least at the moment, that Obama is another politician who promises one thing while trying to get elected...and then contradicts or outright ignores those promises after getting elected. winky

I think it's safe to say the unofficial bankrupting of the United States Of America has begun and, not surprisingly, under a Democrat U.S. president. Nono

Yeah the same thing happened with Bush. If he'd kept by his promises he could have made a good president. And I think if Obama would stick with his promises, he could be too.

I remember Obama saying something about avoiding earmarks.

The Wall Street Journal recently polled economists throughout the U.S. and the majority of them gave President Barack Obama, and Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, a failing grade on their economic policies: http://news.aol.com/main/obama-presidency/article/obama-economy/380586

I personally did vote for Obama...I do admit that. Granted everything about him did not thrill me, I still decided to choose him over McCain...

Then again....I would prefer democrats being in office over republicans (no offense to republicans, since most of my family are in fact republican) because I have a certain characteristic that would be able to be accepted easier with democrats in office because they are moved to change things in regards of said characteristic.

But in the end...I really was not satisfied with either candidate. I really have nothing against republicans being in office...I'm just saying that sometimes we need a change...I'm sure in like 4-8 years I'll say the same thing about democrats being in office. Something along the lines of, "Oh my god...please bring them back...go away democrats!" lmao

Vice President Joseph Biden has gone on record as saying that he believes Americans are starting to see that President Obama has a plan in place to tackle the economic crisis here in the U.S. and that this has contributed to the recent upswing of Wall Street markets: http://www.cbsatlanta.com/money/18933201/detail.html#-

I'm not buying the VP's sentiments. winky
