what can i say about jaws, first it's one of the first films i've ever seen and it scared me silly! wat else do i think of it? it's one of the greatest films ever made!!!!!! just the genius of having you use your imagination, to the great score, to the awsome death scenes! there is too much to say.
then they made Jaws 2, spillberg was unhappy with idea, and he didn't reply when the studio asked him to direct! jaws 2 is my second fav, the first will always be the best, but this one had enough for satisfaction.
3 and 4 i don't want to talk about this second, just that i think 3 is the worst jaws film.

Jaws is freaking amazing. Love that movie. Roy Scheider, Richard Dreyfuss, and Robert Shaw are really awesome in it.

I still haven't seen the second one, but I've heard it's underrated. I might watch it for Roy Scheider sometime.

the second one is by far not as good as the original, but 2 is by far the best of the sequals, and isn't that bad of a film. there is some really cool parts, i think you should give it some chance.....

Jaws 2(1978), while IMO an entertaining movie has less of the gripping suspense and character development of its predecessor. Jaws(1975) is in my top five overall movies and is IMO one of the greatest films ever produced. The book, written by Peter Benchley, is outstanding. The on screen interactions between Quint, Chief Brody and Matt Hooper are among the most fascinating I have ever seen in a movie, a credit to these actors and those who wrote the movie's screenplay.

Jaws 2(1978) is solid, Crow but not as good the original. Give credit to (the late) Roy Scheider for helping to make the second "Jaws" installment fairly entertaining in his reprisal of Amity Police Chief Martin Brody.

On a scale of 1-10(1o being the best) I'd rate Jaws a 9.5/10 and Jaws 2 an 8/10.

Thanks for the opinions on the second film.

I agree, the interaction between the characters on the boat is a big part of why that movie is so great. Hooper is hilarious.

of the trailers, that narrator/voice, it slows the trailer down. it really is kinda boring.

Here's a promo advance trailer for Jaws 3(1983):

The third "Jaws" film was a big drop off for me from the first two...but still a movie I enjoyed a hell of a lot more than Jaws The Revenge(1987). winky

Exactly that: that I enjoyed watching Jaws 3 more than 1987's Jaws The Revenge. winky

What immediately soured me on the 1987 "Jaws" film was the premise that a shark was taking revenge on the late Chief Brody's family, that is, Ellen Brody and her grown sons(in this movie it's revealed that Martin Brody has passed away). I just don't like the story line much.

Jaws 3 is also a film I do not hold in high regard, from a "critical" standpoint. I did like many of the characters better, including Dennis Quaid and Louis Gossett Jr. - I also liked the backdrop for the film more, having the events of the film play out around a "Sea World" type facility.

People disagree about films all the time, and also on how much they like or dislike movies. winky

I don't remember since it's been a while since I've watched Jaws 3. If memory serves me correct the shark in the third "Jaws" film, which was a leviathan at 35 feet long, never showed its face out of the water. All of its attacks on its victims were made from underwater.

Thats what I think is kinda stupid. But a 35 footer is not impossible, in the guiness book of world records, theres been a 37 footer! some speculate this was a hoax, but it sounds resonalble.

http://www.jawshark.com/great_white_recorded_sizes.html

I've browsed quite a few websites devoted to great white sharks. I'm inclined to believe the 1945 great white caught off the coast of Cuba, at just over 21 feet in length, is the largest shark ever caught where the length was officially, and accurately verified. That said I also believe, given the amount of things we still do not know about the deep depths of the Earth's oceans, there are probably larger specimens of great white sharks prowling the deeps. How much bigger? Who knows? I believe 25-30 foot long great white sharks are absolutely within the realm of possibility. winky
