OK! Lets begin. In the year 1990, ScFi Channel had a television two part series based upon the bestseller by Stephen King, eventually was made into a VHS tape by Warner Bro., and soon a DVD. The film is considerably long,In the area of 193 minutes.

My personal thoughts of the film are positive, the film is about the town of Derry. Sadly every 30 or longer years, a creature from space awakes, and had been here awhile, for info read the book! Now this creature has no true form, he becomes what people fear. But It's favorite thing to shape itself into is a clown known as Pennywise the dancing clown! It does this for it chooses to eat children, it's fascinated with fear, and children are much more easy to scare. Pennywise is played by Tim Curry, and he nails the performance, every time I read the book, his character is all I see. Plus I consider this clown the scariest clown of all time! no other can compare! like me, if your a fan of Stephen Kng, the film is different but a definite watch!
Post your thoughts of the film, or even the book here!

I've read the book(about ten years ago). I also saw this movie on television. I thought it played out well but seemed to bog down a bit at times.

If I remember correctly the creature's final rendering was as a giant spider vs the human cast...right?

Yes thats true, thats the reason the second half isn't the better one.

I havn't read the book, but I have seen the movie. Even though I'm scared of clowns, and this movie delt with a clown, I thought that it was very good. A interesting movie.

Pennywise was certainly more creepy to me, with that voice and mouth full of sharp teeth, than the huge spider which appeared to be some kind of animatronic, and not an especially good one.

Since the book and film are different, I think the finally would be better with another battle with pennywise. more interesting,Imeen a spider, It was stupid!

Warner Bro. is remaking the film in 2009 or 2010. It sounded like a good idea, but now that I get down to it. It's a TERRIBLE IDEA! For one reason, If they don't get Tim Curry for pennywise, and they most likely won't. Tim is the only human who can act it out. I may see it, but Curry will always be PennyWise!

They said only Charles Ogle could be Frankenstein's Monster, and they were wrong. Then they said only Boris Karloff could be Frankenstein's Monster, and they were still wrong.

And they also said only Colin Clive could be Frankenstein. And that only Bela Lugosi could be Dracula.

My point is, Curry is great, but he's not irreplacable.

But the original leaves more memory and we like the original performance over the others, the next performanc may be good. but will never! be as good, my point with Tim Curry.

I didn't see the miniseries, or read the book, but I think he's more replaceable than someone like Robert Englund in the Freddy Krueger role. I mean Tim Curry's Pennywise may be great, but he's not as iconic as somebody like Englund.

Well replacing Robert Enlgland, would be bad, but I won't buy it, Curry's role isn't the biggest, but replacing him is just a terrible idea! my opinions are different then yours.

I guess I should see the Tim Curry version before I judge.
