Wal*Mart does have a decent size bin or shelves that are bargain-priced, but I hate it when they use a large bin and toss the DVDs inside.....can't tell you how many times I've picked a case up, only to hear the disc rattling around insde, having come loose from the hub.

I can spend hours looking through DVDs at Best Buy, Borders, Suncoast, FYE and Wal*Mart. The sad thing is, Wal*Mart is the only local retail store and they seldom carry the DVDs I'm in search of. I did hear someone say they found the Ultraman collection at Wal*Mart, but buggered if I can find anything decent like that at my Wal*Mart! thumbs down

Oh, yes, definitely have used both sites. I love receiving packages in the mail, but I'm also the kind of shopper that often needs 'instant gratification'. Mr Green

As am I, and exactly why I do not order DVD's online much anymore. The last ordering fiasco I encountered with Amazon.com, regarding Caiman.com and the DVDs A*P*E(1976) and Dinocroc, in which neither was shipped to me and also without any specific explanation as to why, has soured me on online ordering, though I will probably order some DVD-R's from two sources I have had 100% success with, regarding quality and quick shipouts. I am also going to order the Region 4 DVD of Destroy All Monsters(1968)(Madman Entertainment) in September, because I want to see this movie in subtitles, and not the ADV Films dub.

When I have packages arrive in the mail or by UPS, I'm as happy as a kid on Christmas morning, but I don't receive nearly enough packages in the mail or by UPS. ;) Knock wood, I've had great luck with my orders through Amazon....Deep Discount used to be a fave of mine until their shipping became a nightmare of slowness and I've had pretty decent luck with a few other online vendors, but definitely love going into a retial store and grabbing several titles to come home with.

question: Destroy All Monsters had a re-release, didn't it? I don't know much about the re-release, but is it true the only added feature to this was a CD inclusion? I have the original release and I can't believe there isn't even a menu page....the film just...starts! Does the Region 4 offer any bonus features?

Destroy All Monsters(1968) was re-released by ADV Films. The re-release has different cover art(I liked it a little better) and does include a CD of the music score from the film. And that's it. Just like the original ADV DVD of DAM(which you have) there are no extras. The dubbing for the movie is the same as the original. I encountered a fellow( "travigodzillafan at the Toho Kingdom and Monster Zero forums) who sent me a decent DVD-R of Destroy All Monsters with the AIP dub, the narration done by the deeper, more formal voice of Norman Rose, as opposed to the more nasal-sounding narration of the ADV version.

Re: the Region 4 "Madman" DVD of Destroy All Monsters. This version is subtitled, letterboxed, and includes the theatrical trailer. More importantly, the true hue of the original(Japanese) release is preserved Kimi. Over at Planet X there was some discussion about this. Images(screenshots) of both the ADV "DAM" DVD and the Region 2 DVD of DAM were compared-the original Reg 2 print(which the "Madman" release more closely resembles) looks more natural, and the ADV print looks a little too "blued"(for lack of a better word)-click this link: Region 4 "Destroy All Monsters" DVD

Neither do I Kimi. I think it has something to do with money tongue-1 .

Thanks for the link, Lee! :) While I do prefer the re-release cover art, I think I like the look of the Region 4 release even more! thumbs up

I keep hoping some EXTREMELY wealthy couple will want to adopt me and raise me as their own, but at my age, I think the cause is lost. ;)

I keep hoping some EXTREMELY wealthy couple will want to adopt me and raise me as their own, but at my age, I think the cause is lost.  ;)

I would take just having a fairly easy part-time job at Home Depot or Lowes for extra $. I can get backbreaking work like what I do Monday through Friday with relative ease-believe me Kimi there is no shortage of wealthy people in Atlanta looking for individuals looking to perform their maintenance landscaping needs for cash. I used to do this a lot on the side, but it left me wore out or sore going into Monday for my regular job=unacceptable for me. I have tried, for several years in fact, to get hired by Home Depot or Lowes PT as a sales associate, through online resumes and annual excursions to spring job expos-all I ever hear is "we'll call you if you are selected for the interview process." I have decent credit, I do not smoke, I do not do drugs, I rarely drink, and I have over 11 years in the landscaping industry, and I cannot, for some reason, get a PT job with the two biggest home improvement retailers within their garden/landscape supply departments. thumbs down

I noticed that there was no language description for the Reg 4 DVD of DAM at the Madman site Kimi. Before ordering it(if you do decide to that is) I would email them to ask if it is in fact subtitled. I always assumed it was, but you know the old saying: "Assume something and you make an 'ass' out of 'u' and 'me'..." tongue-1

Note: sorry your topic has derailed so far off topic. My fault.

I was going to E-mail them regarding English subtitles, but got to thinking about my Region 4 disc for, Godzilla: Invasion of the Astro Monster and that is also from Madman and is in original Japanese, but offers the English subs, so I'd think we'd be safe in ordering this disc. Mr Green

I agree with your logic. It seems very likely based on such that the Region 4 DVD of Destroy All Monsters(1968) would be in Japanese with subtitle options. thumbs up

Was beginning to think I wasn't going to get in on this great deal from A&E, but received notification, today that it's shipped! Mr Green I ordered the complete series on 26 July, but the ship date kept getting pushed back and I wasn't surprised with the price, but thrilled to know I will receive this set. thumbs up

There's a saying: "Good things come to those who wait." I do not believe this is always true, but it is sometimes. This shipment of DVD's to you is an example of when it does happen. thumbs up

Oh yes and I did a little jig when I received the E-mail. Patience has never been my strong suit, so I was all set for this to be a big disappointment and happily, I can look forward to this arriving, soon.......if it doesn't get lost in shipment! freak out
