Ok! Since tommarow is the big day for the film to come out! I thought this Topic fealt right to make.
It's a prequal to all the other films, and some characters we may reconixe, like Sabertooth and Cyclops. (hope I didn't spoil anything for any one, it's been in the trailers). We also get famous characters like Blob and Deadpool. I'll be seeing it the first showing tommarow friday, May 1st,2009. Post your opinions on what you'll think, and what you think right after seeing the film......... big grin

I can't see this movie this weekend as I'm working at a friend's house most of Saturday and part of Sunday. Hopefully I can catch it in a theater in a couple of weeks.

I read somewhere that Hugh Jackman worked out for over a year before shooting this film to try to get as ripped as possible for the Wolverine role. That's some real dedication.

Things I already like about this film...and before I've even seen it:

1. "Gambit" is included in the story line of the movie.

2. Cyclops is included in the story line as well.

3. the process by which the adamantium is bonded to Logan's bones is shown in detail

4. Deadpool is not only in the film, he's played by Ryan Reynolds, an actor I believe is well cast for the role of "Wade Wilson".

5. Barring this film becoming a box office flop, this movie will result in more "origins" type movies including, but not limited to, Deadpool and Magneto in their own solo movies.

Things I don't like, even though I haven't seen the film yet:

1. the casting of Liev Schrieber as Victor Creed aka "Sabretooth". I wasn't expecting a hulking and long haired guy like Tyler Mane to play the character, but I was thinking the character's hair should be longer...as well as his fangs. winky

I kindly disagree on this one. Reynolds, in my opinion was a pretty big factor in what ruined Blade Trinity. While I believe he fits the "wisecracking" persona of Deadpool, I have my doubts that Reynolds, even with the extensive ability of computer fx, can pull off Deadpool's martial arts skill as well as if they would have hired someone with a martial arts/acting background.

Yah I saw this on the news this morning. I think Watchmen was better, and Wolvrine, really not that good. It was worth it, very entertaining, but there was lots of things that made the movie so not good. Plus they don't follow the comics.

X-Men Origins - Wolverine generated $87 million in the U.S. for it's opening weekend, as well as another $73 million in foreign countries where it aired theatrically, giving it a total opening weekend take of $160 million. Projections are that this film will generate enough revenue(perhaps $300 million plus) to ensure other "Origins" films, such as those for Magneto and Deadpool(which have been rumored).

They need to do an origins film for Beast. I didnt read too many X-Men comics growing up but I remember him being a guy with really big feet and then at some point he became a blue-hairy guy. Sounds like it could make an interesting backstory.

I've read that a working copy of X Men Origins - Wolverine was leaked onto the internet, which is most unfortunate...and illegal. For that reason I would ask Napster that you(or anyone) would refrain from posting an internet URL(link) that shows the movie online. Thanks. winky

The success of X-Men Origins - Wolverine has apparently made Twentieth Century Fox's plans to go forward with a spinoff film featuring Deadpool a foregone conclusion: http://www.superherohype.com/news/x-mennews.php?id=8308
