In January I learned about the movies coming out this year, One was a remake of one of my most favored Universal Monsters, Some movies deserve remakes, others don't. Anyway It was planned for Febuary 13th, But was moved to March, and eventualy has been moved to November 6th, 2009.
The Remake has it's website up, and pictures, It is fearsome! Not kidding, must see,
The website is hear: http://www.thewolfmanmovie.com/
The film is directed by Joe Johnston, and Stars Benicio del Toro who will play Mr.Talbot. And his father is played by Anthoney Hopkins. At the momment there is a trailer on youtube from ComicCon, It's camcorder veiw, not sure how long it will be there, Anyway Figures will be out in June, theres a 7 inch and 12 inch I found.

Once I saw Benicio del Toro in full makeup I became instantly interested in the "Wolfman" remake. The fact Anthony Hopkins is also cast for this movie is IMO a major plus. What I like more than anything is that we're not going to see another man transformed into a hulking, bipedal(upright walking) wolf but rather a man who looks to incorporate both human and wolf characteristics, physically.

No, I haven't. Dread Central(and also Fangoria I think) posted a trailer made from a camcorder of some kind but I haven't seen it.

Note: with your permission I'd also like to include any discussion of the 1941 Universal original film, The Wolfman as well.

Here's the trailer for the 1941 classic, The Wolfman, starring Lon Chaney, Jr:

I read an interesting trivia blurb not too long ago that said that the makeup effects used in the 1941 film(courtesy of makeup effects maestro Jack Pierce) were to have been used on Henry Hull in 1935's Werewolf Of London, but the producers of the 1935 film wanted less makeup on Hull, opting for a more "minimalist" approach to the overall makeup effects for Henry Hull. winky

Have you ever seen the Werewolve movie with Jack Nichloson? He had barely any makeup! To me, what makes a werewolve, is they have to look like the original, or maybe even a bit of Dog Soilders in there.

You can watch the original 1941 classic at Veoh...if you download and use "Veoh Video Compass". I have this program in my computer. The link to the video: http://www.veoh.com/collection/movies14/watch/v145514215GdPKghZ

I have downloaded(in Divx format) a handful of films which I then burned to DVD-R, from Veoh including: Humongous(1982), The Lost Continent(1968), Attack Of The Giant Leeches(1959), Dementia 13(1963), Creature From The Black Lagoon(1954) and Horror Express(1973). If you're not interested in downloading anything this "Veoh Video Compass" is still a nice way to watch some of Veoh's movies online.

Good Sugestion.

It doesn't matter if Crowmagnumman see's The original wolfman, just because of the remake, It matters that he see it, for being a great movie! winky

Thanks for the suggestions guys. One way or another, I will watch the film. I've been meaning to check out all the other Universal horror classics ever since I watched the Creature trilogy.

I'm glad to see they didn't reveal too much about Talbot, in full "Wolfman" makeup, in the trailer. Me, I would have shown no facial shots at all of the monster(there seemed to be a brief glimpse of the beast in the final sequence).

The acting, makeup effects and sets of this film, as well as the cinematography, will hopefully result in The Wolfman being a financial success.
