I've been anxiously awaiting this film on Blu. Glad to see it's finally going to be released.

Sci-Fi Japan has posted an outstanding episode guide for the 1966 Rankin Bass animated series King Kong. To see it click the link: http://www.scifijapan.com/articles/2008/12/20/king-kong-cartoon-series-guide/

Too bad that Classic Media didn't also own the movie adaptation of that cartoon series: King Kong Escapes.

I'm assuming this remark is because of the fact Universal's R1 DVD release of KKE is devoid of any extras. heyo

Be glad Universal released KKE in the film's original aspect ratio of 2:35.1 widescreen. winky

yes, but think of it this was:

If classic media had it, we would get a special dvd set of all epsiodes of the animated series, animated series extras, King Kong Escapes both versions with other CM-esque special features.

I actualy did a story for that site back accouple of years ago, about how some site called Spiderwebart.com (or net or org, I do not remember) which were selling perfect reproductions of the Cooper drawings of the 1933 kong... However, this was before my G2KM days...

For those of you who believe films like Godzilla Vs Megalon(1973) and Gamera Vs Viras(1968) have poor effects...well, they're still considerably better than those of the film, a word I use loosely here by the way, called The Mighty Gorga(1969), which is about, yep, a giant ape like creature:

Topic: the "King Kong" attraction is set to return to Universal Studios Hollywood this summer: http://www.dreadcentral.com/news/31794/king-kong-back-universal-hollywood

Recall that the old KK attraction, around since 1986, was destroyed in a fire at Universal last year.
