Does anyone here own/played any of the silent hill series. I own silent hill origins for Psp. ad it is a great game with a fantastic horror feel. At the moment i am in the hospital. I think all the monsters. Pyrimid head is my favorite but Sadly doesen't appear in silent hill origins. Other good monsters that i like would be the butcher, and the nurse. i plan on borrowing silent hill 4 from the game store. What do all think about the series, the monsters, the games and the horror feel of silent hill?. |

I own and have beaten the first 4 silent hill titles as well as SH: Origins. I haven't gotten a chance to play Homecoming yet. I've been a fan of the series since the start on PSone, and I can say my favorite installment is probably Silent Hill 2. I felt it was the creepiest, most visceral experience of all that I've played so far. The storyline to that game in particular is one of my favorites of all time for a video game and the music score for the entire series has always been stellar and engaging. If the only one you've played so far is Origins, Napster, then I recommend playing the 1st game next if you can find a copy. Origins is the prequel to the original Silent hill and Silent hill 3 is a direct sequel to the original, with Silent Hill 2 standing alone as it's own separate story. I don't really know what to think of Silent Hill 4: The room. It's a decent game in it's own right but is somewhat of a departure from the rest of the series and the storyline is really out there on that one. It's ok, but is my least favorite in the series. |

If I remember right the Butcher has something to do with Pyramid Head or is related to him in some way. My memory on it is a bit foggy but I remember reading something about that somewhere. Maybe I'll try to find something on that later. |

If you have either a PSP or a PS2 you could start with Origins...considering it's a prequel to the original PS1 game. Since it's fairly easy to find, it's a logical choice. The original Silent Hill for PS1 is kinda tough to find like Napster said. You could also start with Silent Hill 2 for PS2 or XBOX...it's not as hard to find as the original and since it's a self-standing story, you don't need to know what happened in any of the other games. I would recommend part 2 to just about anyone...it's a great game if you like survival horror. |

Were any of these made for PC? I've got an XBOX 360, but unfortunately have never had a PS or PSP. |

Looked up some of the games, and from what I can tell, the only ones that have a PC version are Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 4: The Room. I might end up playing Silent Hill 2 then. |

2 is a good starting point...I'm pretty sure the original XBOX versions of Silent Hill 2 and 4 are backwards compatible with the 360....so you could play them that way, too. A re-imagining of the original Silent Hill is due out later this year called Shattered memories...not sure how faithful a "re-imagining" will be to the original game's story, but it will be nice to have another SH game regardless. Here's the original Silent Hill game's wikipedia page, Crow...it's got some good info on the original game. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silent_Hill_(video_game) |

Napster, here's Wikipedia's article on Pyramid head...it explains the relationship between him and the Butcher from SH Origins. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pyramid_head |

Been playing Silent Hill 2 last night and today. Now I'm just past the part where you first see Pyramid Head. It's a good game. The graphics have held up pretty well, and it's got a good spooky feel to it. |

Glad to see you are enjoying this game, Crow. When the story comes full circle, I'm sure you will agree it's one of the most feeling storylines out there for a videogame. |
