Chriss, while a person with connections, may be telling too much too soon - especialy with the higher ups in the fandom not having information yet either (unless they are keeping secret, which if they are then Chriss should be keeping his mouth shut). But we'll just see, won't we? Hopefully I would love to see the US Goji film go up against ANOES part 2 of the new series or Tranformers 3...

I haven't talked to Chris in quite some time, but I can tell you Evan, that he's never really been one to spread false rumors. He was pretty heavily involved in covering and putting out info for Atari's last Godzilla game for the Wii, and he never led anyone astray in that ordeal.

This is interesting to hear. Especialy since Trick R Treat was made by Legendary Pictures, so I am not surprised that they would keep this in their loop of directors.

Though thinking criticaly, maybe when he said "Godzilla", maybe he was just saying that instead of "giant monster movies" since Godzilla is going to get more of a responce. I think that this is interesting, especialy since there is a new rumor going around that an officil statement on the project is said to be release sometime between now and the end of the year...

Plus, I am happy to say that I am the first (As I know) to produce a fan poster for the project.

Though to continue on Lee's thought, Spielburg has yet to make a film which I did not like and W.O.T.W. did have some suspence to it, so it would be interesting seeing him make the film. But then again, even though he is a fan one must ask if he has seen the Japanese versions of the film and if so fully has an understanding of the material. Godzilla is not just sci-fi...
This may be Off Topic, but I found an interveiw of Stephen Spillberg on Youtube, after about 8 minutes he talks about Godzilla, Stating it was one of the most Terrifying things he ever saw, Because there was more behind it, like the H bomb.

Heres the Interveiw, but he dosn't start talking about the movie Gojira untill 8 minutes through. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XtTSRFyte7A

Why be so hugely enamored with some comments by Spielberg about Godzilla, Evan? heyo

It is great source material for the book on the early years of the kaiju fandom in America (years 1956 to 1961). There is no real information for those five years, and this just added a full paragraph to the thing (so far, four pages, not including introduction).
