Monsterland Charter Member Posts: 651 Group: Members Member #55 Joined: February 14, 2007 Favorite giant monster film: Destroy All Monsters, Terror of Mechagodzilla, War of the Gargantuas Favorite horror film: Jaws Favorite sci-fi film: Aliens	Saw 2012 this weekend. Talk about a movie that will make you think even more about that date. The special effects, as you would expect, were awesome, and the story was ok. Still though, I think this is a date that alot of people are going to be keeping their eye on even more after seeing this movie.

I've seen the trailers and the special effects do indeed look absolutely marvelous. IT will definitely be a DVD or Blu-Ray purchase when the film gets released to disc next year.

This movie is gonna look awesome on Blu-Ray.

It's possibly the ultimate disaster film and also kind of the ultimate Roland Emmerich film, with all the good and bad points that entails. The CG effects [which I'm not always a fan of in films] were generally stunning and some of the sequences were real edge of seat stuff, but it got ludicrous how many times the main protagonists escaped disasters by the skin of their teeth and I didn't really care about the human stories very much [that was probably down to scripting rather than acting]. Overall very flawed but very entertaining anyway. Funny how I do enjoy most Emmerich films yet absolutely hated Gino.
