I'm probably one of the few people in the world that prefer their games to be limited to 30 fps. 60 fps games make me nauseous for some reason. And I just prefer the more cinematic look that comes with 24 or 30 fps. I mean imagine how Uncharted would look if it was 60 fps. It would not be the same game.

Sometimes I can enjoy a game in spite of the higher framerate, as was the case with Batman: Arkham Asylum and Modern Warfare 2. They were just so awesome I had to ignore the higher framerate.

Is anybody else bothered by 60 fps? I know most gamers want the highest framerate possible, but I'm sure there are a few out there that agree with me.

No, I actually prefer my games to be at 60 fps because most of the games I own are racing games and to me, a 60 fps racing game seems faster than a 30 fps game.

Unless you're super sensetive to video you shouldn't be able to notice a difference between the frames per second.

I personally can't tell a difference except in terms of graphics or if there's things like interlacing or jaggies.

I guess the framerate difference is a bit more obvious for me since I do a lot of video editing. I didn't use to notice it, but after filming a lot of footage in 24p, 60i footage looks cheap and dizzying in comparison. Games sort of look the same way to me now.

But I'll more readily accept a 60 fps game than 60i footage. Sometimes 60 fps can make a game better. I think it may have made Modern Warfare 2 a more visceral and exciting experience.

I think most of the time I really can't tell. At times some games felt too fast, like Ninja Gaiden, for example, which I believe ran at 60 fps. Then again, it's supposed to be about a ninja, so slowing down the combat might have been less realistic.

Oh yeah. Ninja Gaiden did look like it ran at 60 fps. I don't think they should slow down the combat, but the framerate is a bit hard on my eyes. It feels like there's too much information for my brain to process. But then again, I guess it might be harder to fight like a ninja with a lower framerate. You could probably anticipate and react faster with a higher framerate.

I never had an issue with the 60 fps (30 fps for that matter)...never experienced this "too fast" feeling even in racing games.

Just another reason why I'm a fan ;-)

Guess I'm one of the few. I just hope people would be bothered if they started making movies in 60 fps.
