I hate life
Despite all the bad things that happen to good people in life that is not IMO reason enough to hate life and living. Remember this, Napster: a lot of people have died young, be it from cancer or something else, their lives taken way too soon. None of these people wanted their lives to end, but end they did.

You have a life and only one life: make the most of it pal. winky

Long time Senator Edward M. Kennedy has died. He was 77. Kennedy, the brother of former U.S. attorney general Robert F. Kennedy and former U.S. president John F. Kennedy, passed away after succumbing to brain cancer.

Source: http://www.cbsatlanta.com/politics/20558369/detail.html

As a political conservative I didn't agree with Senator Kennedy's positions but this man spent his entire career tirelessly working for things that would benefit the working class and the poor. He was also a man who acted on his principles and stood by them. I have always had great respect for "Ted" Kennedy.

May he Rest In Peace.

Veteran actor Patrick Swayze has died. He was 57. Swayze passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by family members after succumbing to the effects of pancreatic cancer, which he had been battling for two years.

For more on the life of this terrific actor click the link: http://movies.msn.com/movies/article.aspx?news=431218&gt1=28101

I have always admired the way Patrick Swayze handled himself after first being diagnosed with cancer, then later as he had to deal with the effects of chemotherapy and other side effects from his treatment. Swayze showed class and great courage in the face of an insidious disease that, tragically, takes away the lives of too many people at too young an age.

My favorite films starring Swayze will always be Next Of Kin(1989), in which he plays Chicago cop "Truman Gates", and Road House(1989), in which he plays head bouncer "James Dalton".

Patrick Swayze will be greatly missed.

I was looking here to see if anyone covered the death of TV pitchman Billy Mays. It turns out i'll be the first. (although this death announcement comes about 5 months too late AND I've only looked through one page.) Boy, June 28th, 2009 was one sad day for the infomercial industry. :( R.I.P. Billy Mays! (He was one of my heroes.)

Jacinto Molina. That name may not be familiar to horror movie fans. Molina. a Spanish born actor/writer/producer was better known among horror movie buffs as "Paul Naschy". Naschy gained lasting fame and a huge following of fans for his portrayal of "Waldemar Daninsky", a count who also happens to be a werewolf, in a series of films. Naschy also played other characters, including Dracula.

Naschy's death was announced on the internet today. The 75 year old actor succumbed to cancer after fighting the affliction for some time.

Long time television and movie actor Gene Barry has died. He was 90. There has been no official cause of death reported thus far. Barry died while residing at a rest home in the Los Angeles(CA) suburb of Woodland Hills.

Gene Barry enjoyed a long career in television and on the big screen, starring in notable TV series like Bat Masterson and The Name Of The Game.

Classic sci-fi film fans(like myself) will always remember Gene Barry for his portrayal of a scientist, "Dr. Clayton Forrester", who leads the fight for humanity against invading Martians and their war machines in the science fiction classic The War Of The Worlds. Barry also had a cameo role at the end of 2005's War Of The Worlds, which was directed by Steven Spielberg.

For more on the career and life of this actor, click the link: http://tv.msn.com/tv/article.aspx?news=446561&GT1=28103

Here's a clip from 1953's The War Of The Worlds with Gene Barry and co-star Ann Robinson, whose characters are holed up in a house where Martian war machines are lurking outside: http://www.tcm.com/mediaroom/index.jsp?cid=273633

I have always held this actor in the highest regard. He will be missed.

Actor Corey Haim has died. He was 38. No official cause of death has been announced. Haim was sharing an apartment with his mother in Burbank(CA). Haim fell ill and was taken to a hospital by his mother in the early AM hours of Wednesday(today). He was later pronounced dead.

Corey Haim's career reached it's zenith with the 1987 horror film The Lost Boys. Haim later struggled with both drug and alcohol addiction as well as weight gain. Recently he had seemingly been poised for a comeback.

I wish this young man had gotten the chance to rebound from his earlier struggles. A damn shame he didn't get that chance.
