Welcome to MONSTERLAND FORUMS! We are a casual and friendly online community of movie fans who like to talk about giant monsters, horror and sci-fi in cinema, on television and on Blu Ray/DVD. There are forums for sports, casual chat and video games as well. For those of you who like making art, writing stories and creating videos, our community includes a forum for these submissions as well. Check out our main index page and other board forums! Anyone is welcome to join our community!

MONSTERLAND FORUMS was created on January 29, 2006 for the purpose of giving fans of giant monster films and other sci-fi/horror movies a friendly online meeting place to discuss all of their favorite films and other things of interest like video gaming and sports.

MONSTERLAND FORUMS has 180,000 posts. This online community, while over twelve years old, is currently no longer as active as the early years(between 2007-2009). Still, we have a half dozen members who continue to participate here.

For those who enjoy giant monster movies be sure to check out THE MEG, opening in theaters on August 10th, 2018. This film, based on the 1997 book "Meg", written by Steve Alten, features an enormous, 75 foot long Megalodon shark! Other giant monster movies that we fans can look forward to: GODZILLA KING OF THE MONSTERS(in 2019) and GODZILLA VS KONG in 2020! PACIFIC RIM-UPRISING(2018), the sequel to 2013's "Pacific Rim", is about to release to Ultra 4k and Blu Ray. In these movies, 250 foot tall robots defend Earth from an assault of other worldly giant monsters(kaiju).

I'm still seeing a pumpkin here and there still sitting on doorsteps at various homes in the neighborhoods we drive through during the work week. I wonder just how long a pumpkin can last on a person's porch before rotting and breaking down into compost or some other kind of decayed vegetable matter...

I wonder, too...you'd think they must be softening up by now and soon that horrid smell will be hanging around! freak out

Current Packmule Christmas tradition regarding my Christmas tree and when I take it down: I always leave my tree up until just after New Year's Day, then I take it down.

Chevy Tracker 4WD. This is my second Tracker, I bought one in early '97, that was a two-door/soft top. I ran that one to death and traded it in in October 2003 for this one....a 4-door/hard top.

Does it look like this? (see below image) eyebrow

Ouch, the high ankle sprain sounds both painful and annoying.
While on crutches my mother drove me to school(it was only 2 miles from our house-I usually walked) and after school I hitched a ride home with a friend. Considering I played a lot of sports in high school I'm lucky I only suffered this one bad ankle sprain, and not really much else. bravo clap

Once the pumpkin used by my landlord had begun to stink like this I picked it up, with gloved hands( tongue-1 ), and whipped it into the woods behind her house. faster <!--emo&shifty eyes-->Posted Image<!--endemo-->

Carol will be returning to work on 29 December, so we may be taking our tree down on 28 December, just so it's down and out before Carol heads back to work and we don't have time to do it after. Boy, that's depressing! :(

Yesterday, Carol had the day off and from 11:00AM until 9:30PM, she baked ALL day! I'm more of a bother to her in the kitchen, so she does most of it on her own.....I help whenever she asks or whenever I can sneak in the kitchen, so even though she did the majority of the work, I'm still whipped! She made:

-Pumpkin Rolls
-Peanut Butter Cookies
-Chocolate Chip Cookies
-Thumbprint Cookies with Strawberry Jam
-Fudge

That's great, nothering worse than playing high school sports and being injured just often enough to keep you from enjoying the various sports. Skeet wrestled and did track in high school and he blew his knee out in a wrestling match when he was a junior, I believe. Had to have the reconstructive surgery and then had a piece of fat break loose and traveled to his lung, we damn near lost him. He was able to return to wrestling his senior year, but that was a horrible injury.

Looks like a nice ride. thumbs up

Getting over the post-Halloween blues isn't easy, to be sure-especially after all the great horror films on television in October.

Getting over the post-Thanksgiving blues is even harder, at least for me-going from all that great food back to my everyday routine of Maruchan noodles, TV dinners, or some other quickie meal. freak out

 I fell asleep at one point, on the sofa and Carol woke me up, to lick the beaters, when she made the pumpkin roll filling. God, I love that stuff! I don't think there's much sugar in the filling, but how much can you get from beatrs, anyway, right? ;) I got to lick more than my fair share of beaters on Tuesday, but by the end of the day, Carol offered me two more beaters and I actually had to pass! tongue-1

Thanks, I like the vehicle, it's been quite the little workhorse!

That's so true about horror TV, after October, the decent programming really falls off for horror fans....unless you have some pay channels, I suppose.

Getting over the post-Thanksgiving blues is even harder, at least for me-going from all that great food back to my everyday routine of Maruchan noodles, TV dinners, or some other quickie meal.

My toughest time will be the day after Christmas! I actually feel quite depressed, as all the fun and excitement of October, November and December is officially over and there isn't much left to look forward to.

I have seen a few plastic jack'o lanterns around the neighborhoods but little else. I was, frankly, somewhat surprised at how slow many people were in taking down their Halloween yard decorations. eh?

I've been doing that a lot the last couple of months. Probable reason: the sofa has low back cushions, which make it less comfortable to sit back in...but more comfortable to stretch out on. tongue-1

Thanks....that was one scary time. He was so out of it, when I arrived to see him and several hours later, after everything was OK, it was the difference between night and day.

I was thrilled to see so many people in my area, decorating for Christmas. Last year, it seemed like very few got into the spirit of decorating, but this year, for Halloween and Christmas, decorations were really up and lit. I think a lot of it could be due to the fact, it's been a very mild autumn and winter, so far. Gives folks a lot more opportunity to work, outside and not freeze their behinds off!

I actually pass out in my recliner, a lot! I swear, as soon as I sit in that, lean back a wee bit to watch TV, a DVD or read, in no time at all, I;m stacking some serious Z's. Since the tree's been up, I haven't been able to lay back in the recliner, but, surprisingly enough, I still pass out while sitting in that thing! tongue and cheek

I agree. Speaking of freezing one's behind off, temperatures here in Atlanta have dropped over the last few days-the sky is overcast, there's been on/off drizzle, and it's been windy and cold, mostly only in the 40's during the day, which= typical winter weather in Atlanta. thumbs down 2

Indeed. I have been offered, by a friend, a used recliner that's in good condition. I'll probably pick it up early next week one day after work-I admit I was reluctant, at first, to accept this freebie, because it will give me another means by which to quickly fall asleep around my residence. With another "sleeping spot" inside my place I might as well be called Rip Van Packmule. tongue-1

Perhaps the Denver Broncos might cheer you up in early January. It's looking like they will make the playoffs as a wild card. thumbs up

I know this part of Pennsylvania hasn't had a very typical winter, so far. We had one or two days where the temps were frigid....single digits, but for the most part, we've been upwards of 20º above normal....temperature-wsie! I believe our normal temps for this time of the year are low-to-mid 20s and this year, so far, mid-to-upper 40s!

 I know, funny how certain pieces of furniture can become a napping spot, almost immediately. Dad said he sleeps better in his recliner than he does his bed.
