There are forums for sports, casual chat and video games as well. For those of you who like making art, writing stories and creating videos, our community includes a forum for these submissions as well. Check out our main index page and other board forums! Anyone is welcome to join our community! MONSTERLAND FORUMS has 180,000 posts. This online community, while over twelve years old, is currently no longer as active as the early years(between 2007-2009). Still, we have a half dozen members who continue to participate here. For those who enjoy giant monster movies be sure to check out THE MEG, opening in theaters on August 10th, 2018. This film, based on the 1997 book "Meg", written by Steve Alten, features an enormous, 75 foot long Megalodon shark! Other giant monster movies that we fans can look forward to: GODZILLA KING OF THE MONSTERS(in 2019) and GODZILLA VS KONG in 2020! PACIFIC RIM-UPRISING(2018), the sequel to 2013's "Pacific Rim", is about to release to Ultra 4k and Blu Ray. In these movies, 250 foot tall robots defend Earth from an assault of other worldly giant monsters(kaiju). -Lee "Packmule" Merritt site founder |

The "Blumenthals" were both good people-they took care of me well at Christmas with a nice tip, and always deferred to me and my boss(the account manager) when it came to issues about their property. They were the kind of people that I always wanted to "go the extra mile for", all the time. I wish I had more clients like that right now. Most of the ones on our route right now we either rarely if ever see, or are the kind of folks whose only feedback is the periodic complaint. thumbs down 2 |

I understand his concern all too well. Though I have never been addicted to painkillers I admit I have enjoyed their effects, in the few situations where I was prescribed them. Example: back in 2003 after I sprained my knee at work, I was prescribed pain medication, after having my right knee drained and MRI'd. I was put on Hydrocodone(a steroid). This drug is a potent painkiller-it will make you drowsy and feel, at least for me, comparable to that of mild or moderate inebriation and a definite sense of relaxation. I can understand how people might get hooked on this drug. I felt similarly about Celebrex, an anti-inflammatory drug I was prescribed during the first couple of years of gout attacks-it also serves as a general and arthritis pain relieving drug, with similar effects-it will make you drowsy and want to sleep. I read somewhere, Kimi, that many teenagers today are turning to Nyquil and other drugs with alcohol to attain a "high" or "drunk" state of consciousness, obviously because they are not old enough to buy alcoholic beverages. nonono |

I think when people act appreciative of an effort someone goes to or are simply friendly and approachable people, those are the kind of people you're willing to go that extra mile for. When I was still able to work and still working on the 'floor', I did my job, but at the end of the night, I did extra paperwork and punched number in the computer, so my Superviser simply had to print off the info in the AM and because he appreciated me doing this, I was more than happy to do it and never received any extra pay for this, excpet the OT I was alaready getting. |

It was often an entire afternoon/evening of shopping, when we had to travel so far. Like Carol said, traveling 50-75 miles in this area takes just over an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes, whereas, the same trip in the city might take two hours or more. I know when I was a kid, most of the shopping was done through catalogs. It was a huge deal for Mom to go to the Sears catalog store and pick up a back-to-school order or she also did a lot of her Christmas shopping through JC Penney's, Sears and seems like there was one other....Montgomery Ward, perhaps? |

I definitely appreciate my Dr looking out for me, I suppose it would be very easy for a Dr to prescribe pain meds and simply ignore the possibility of someone becoming addicted. I think I do have an addictive personality.....case in point, my deep love and desire of diet Pepsi.....I almost panic, if I feel my supply is too low! However, I don't think pain meds could be something I;d find myself reaching for very often, as the stomach upset would be enough to keep me from reaching for that bottle, very often. cheeky sick smiley I believe that, Lee, Nyquil is pretty potent stuff, I took it a few times as a teen, when I was battling severe colds and the flu and that stuff would put me to sleep in a flash. I still will take it, but sadly, very little helps with my poor sleep, these days. :( |

I think I come by my odd sleeping habits, thanks to my Dad, Granddad and Grandma. None of them were the type to ever sleep past 5:00AM and many times, Dad is up by 3:00AM. Both my Grandma and Granddad are passed away, now, but I have the weird feeling, my sleeping habits mirror them all. maniac |

You know, it's funny, but in spite of having K-Mart and Wal*Mart about 30 minutes away, when we travel to the 'city' which is an hour or slightly more away, I still get excited about the trip! B) Perhaps it's because I KNOW, if we're going to travle that far, I'm bound to pick up a DVD or two! :<!--emo&lol:--> |

I have been told, by my girlfriend, Gloria, that I talk aloud in my sleep on occasion, though it is mostly mumbling and other incomprehensible gibberish. An old girlfriend of mine, from the late 80's and early 90's, once told me the same thing. I have never "sleepwalked". I have also been told I am a restless sleeper by Gloria. She's probably right: I have woken up in the AM(alone and sometimes with her) to frequently find my bed(or hers) demolished, the mattress half off the box springs and the sheets all gnarled up and partially on the floor.

Don't those "Breathe-Right" strips(that you place across your nose) help out regarding snoring? I also know that people who snore loudly have other medical options as well to address this.

Hehehe...it could be. Although, I;d have to say, overall, Best Buy ranks right up there, these days. Was a time, when I could walk in Best Buy and find half a dozen titles I really wanted to bring home with me, now, if it isn't a TV season, I'm hard-pressed to see anything! <_< |

My youngest brother, Skeet snores worse than anyone I've ever heard! My God, I could sleep through anything and his snoring, when we are in Canada for the week, has awakened me and I'm clear at the other end of the cabin! I remember one Saturday, years ago, I didn't have to work and Mom called me to come down for breakfast. My other younger brother, Michael and his wife and family were spending the weekend at Mom's. Michael was using one of those Breathe-Right strips that Mom had and we were all sitting at the table, when Michael's wife came down and Mom asked her, if her hair was breathing any better, there hanging from her hair, was Michael's Breathe-Right strip! :<!--emo&lol:--> I guess, from what folks have told me, when I talk in my sleep, I talk quite clear, so they can understand what I'm saying. Perosnally, if I've ever slept with someone who talks in their sleep, it creeps me right out!

I don't think I snore or talk in my sleep, but that's judging completely by what my family says. I do however sleep with my mouth open in the winter because I guess my nose gets stuffy. =/ |

No and I've never thought about that! :<!--emo&lol:-->I also sleep with my mouth open, I think I always have and this winter, it's been a killer, I wake up so dry, I could spit cotton, I think. I also sleep with my eyes partcially open and that tends to freak people out. Dad said, when I was a wee baby, his heart stopped the first time he saw me like that. He and Mom had lost their first baby, just nine months and ten days before I was born, as she was born very premature and I was also premature, so Dad was nervous as could be to begin with. He said he walked over and looked down at me and there I was, with one eye halfway open and the other slightly less open and he thought I was dead! Mom sleeps the same way and sometimes, just as I'm falling asleep, I can feel my one eye begin to open. cheeky sick smiley |

That is, IMO, one sure fire way to judge a retailer who sells DVDs: if they always have more DVDs you want than you can afford to buy, that is good. Those that have little or nothing you want to buy, that is bad. This may sound like something simplistic, even semi-assinine, Kimi, but I wonder sometimes if those that decide what major retailers stock for DVDs should actually just go back to a simple deduction like what I just mentioned. |
