The RulesYou break 'em, you bought 'em
- Respect Everyone. There is no one here undeserving of some sort of respect. I don't care who you think you are or how awesome or unawesome. Respect everyone here and we won't have a problem. *grin*
- Refrain from cursing, oaths, maledicta, potty-mouthing, swearing, and cussing in general. This is a family-oriented writing community and one run by a Mormon, which means we don't tolerate cursing. While not a ban-able offense when used rarely and mildly (No 'F' word, for instance. Ever.), too much will get you a one-way ticket to ban-land, where n00bcakes roam free.
- Keep content clean. If I see one bad sexual reference/content/image, I will ban you so fast your head will spin. Not a joke, by the way. Don't test it. Just keep things clean in general.
- Use the goodest grammar you can. This rule will be...loose, to say the least, because I know I'm just as guilty as anyone. At the very least, if possible, make your posts look like a character's dialogue or something. If you're going to mess with grammar, mess it good. If there's a reason that your grammar is less-than perfect--English is your second/third/umpteenth language and not your native language, for instance--please let us know. We'll make an exception.
- No advertising. Except in designated forums. Even in those forums, make the advertisements...relevant and not spammy. Speaking of which...
- No SPAM. Do you know what SPAM stands for? Yes, the sandwich meat. The Internet SPAM is similar. SPAM is Stupid Pointless Annoying Messages. This means any post that is completely irrelevant to the topic, doesn't contribute to the conversation, or is otherwise just stupid. This rule is loose, so just use your best judgement.
- Do not ask any member their personal information. This very rule is why mySpace has such a bad rep. Asking for another member's personal information (real name, address, phone-number, etc.) compromises the security of our members, especially the younger members.
- Do Not Steal. Ever! This is a content-based site, and therefore one that is very enticing for the less savory ones out there as a target for stealing. Everything on this site hopefully belongs to the person who submitted it in the first place.
- Keep signatures compact I know I have a huge character limit on the signatures, but that doesn't mean you can stuff them full. Some of us have slow computers and can't load large signatures. As such, keep them small-ish. I'll leave you to decide how small small is.
In addition to the above rules:
- No Godmoding This means to control other characters without permission. This is generally a big no-no!
- No Power Playing! You character isn't super-powerful. Some skills are difficult to use and may not work. reflect this in your role-playing once in a while!
- Keep to your skills This ties in with Power Playing. If you put your character as having such-and-such skills, then keep them! If you change your mind, be sure to give everyone a fair warning and try to change before roleplaying. This just creates awkward and noncontiguous roleplaying.
- Use proper grammar and creativity. Yes, I know this was already in the rules, but it's doubly important here. I won't ban you for making a one-sentence post, but please pack that one sentence with as much creativity and 'oomph' as possible.
- Quality and/or Quantity Like I said, I won't ban you for one-sentence posts. In rare cases, I won't even berate you for it. However, that sentence had better be jaw-droppingly good. Chances are, your one sentence doesn't cut it and most people have trouble replying to one sentence. So, for the sake of others, make your post as long--and as good!--as possible.
- No killing another character without the owner's permission. This ties in with godmodding. Unless you have their permission, all other character's are essentially invincible and immortal. Particularly the god characters. You do not want to mess with them...yet.
- Nevermore is essentially a very large, collaborated novel Yeah, I know. Weird rule. Admittedly, I don't even know what this means yet. Just...ermm....keep that in mind, I guess. XD
Other than that, have fun! More rules will be added if needed...So don't make them needed! By the way, if you PM the word "rubik" to Twilight, she might give you 30 Shells!
