"I've got a lovely bunch of coconuts, deedleydee~~"
A few odd moments went by after Amy's statement, which still rolled around in Amene's head--"I can't eat that. . .I'm allergic to fish." Amy's golden eyes peered up at her, her eyes slowly narrowing as a bubbly look glittered in the humans eyes. Here it comes, the laughter...

Right on cue Amene's contagious laughter split the air lightly, the dried fish strip she was holding falling down to the ground. The people around her blinked before going on with their business, Amy heaving a huff as her tail twitched dangerously from side to side.

After the events of demon-fighting a few nights ago, Amene had decided she and Amy really needed a day away from the city to clear their heads. The Port was perfect for that, though Amy wasn't too thrilled about all the water that lay out before them at the end of the busy port. It seemed like forever until Amene stopped laughing, whipping a tear from under her right eye.

"All these years, and I never knew."

"All these years and you have never offered me fish."

Somehow that made Amene giggle, but Amy actually didn't mind. The cat finally realized that she was finally seeing a part of Amene she hadn't seen for quite some time...laughter-prone and cheerful. There was something about the salty ocean breeze that had cleared both of their heads.

"I'm sorry, Amy. It never occurred to me why you took a fancy to bread over fish. But you eat things like ham and beef, right?"

"Sure." Amy purred, teasingly rising to rub against Amene's legs. "I'm not a vegetarian or anyth--" Amy's words slowly died as she caught sight of an odd figure, but it was gone as soon as she had looked, like it had noticed her brief glance and fled. Amene didn't seem to notice as she scooped up the ruffled cat into her arms, smiling as a soft blast of a cool breeze fanned her long hair out.

"Too bad peace doesn't last forever, huh?"
