Date: March 14 Time: Evening Place: Kay’s room of Murderworld ![]() This picture is of the kind of material Kay’s room was a perfect cube about ten feet wide. The surface of the walls and floor was some kind of dark and slightly reflective surface similar to polished obsidian. Filtered yellow light came in through a fixture in the ceiling but it was dim. In the glow Kay could make out his own reflection in the surface, but beyond that it was impossible to see anything. In fact it was tough to even tell where the wall was if he wasn’t looking at his own reflection. Arcade’s face appeared on the door he had come it. Either there was a screen built into the door so seamlessly it wasn’t possible to see before or the image was being projected from the ceiling or something. “You’re a lucky one today Kay.” Arcade informed him while pushing a red lock out of his face. There isn’t anything you have to do right now. You’ll rejoin one of your comrades for a challenge when they are finished with their first one, provided they survive. So just sit back and chill for ten minutes.” His face vanished and was replaced by a very dim red countdown starting at “10:00”. For two minutes nothing happened. The room was silent except for any sounds Kay made and nothing but Kay and the countdown moved. Than is until Kay heard a whisper, just loud enough to hear. “You shouldn’t leave.” After that was silence. Even if Kay strained to hear, there would be nothing but his own breathing. Another minute passed before the voice spoke again. “They don’t need you.” This time it was louder. “You’ll only mess up and get them killed.” The reflection of Kay in the wall before him stared back, even if he moved to look around. It reached out and pointed an accusing finger at him. “You know you aren’t fit to fight with them, you aren’t really part of the team.” The reflection of him moved closer to the wall plane and pressed its hand against it. “Jean has experience, Scott has trained, and Teon has good instincts. The only reason that shot didn’t kill you was because Jean was shielding you. Admit it Kay, we’re useless. All we do is get in the way. It’s always been that way. In school we only help back any club or team we joined.” The reflection sighed and looked sad. “Really just stay here. Let them come rescue us after they get out. If we go now, it’ll only lead to someone getting killed. Tag:Templar Edited by Storyteller, August 11, 2015, 6:53 pm.
