Alexa Bellingham stood in Bay 2 at New Castle Fire Station 1, and looked over Engine 941. This was the first rig for the New Castle Fire Department while Alexa had been a firefighter. She was 32, and the newest Engine Captain to join the ranks. She knew there was some resistance and maybe even some resentment among her fellow firefighters.

She had started as a booter in the beginning of her career with New Castle. A booter was another word for Probationary Firefighter, which was someone who was in their first 6 months to 18 months of service. As Engine 941's Captain, Alexa was also the Station house commander. Under her command were 10 people, it broke down to 4 firefighters, 2 Engineers, 2 specialists and 2 Medics. Along with Engine 941 also stationed at One was Ladder 94, Alpha 94 {Ambulance} and the Mobile Emergency Command Post.

Just then the bells rang, she counted two. That meant both Engine 941 and Ladder 94 would be needed, Alpha 94 readied for action in case there were casualities at the site. Gearing up, she counted everyone and climbing into the passenger side she put her headset in place on her head, she said "Engine 941
