Many articles have had conflicting research results on the optimal Social Media posting times and frequencies. From your experience what is the best window?

Personally I find that posting on the weekends Fridays-Sundays work the best. Also, depending on your target audience, if you have to post on weekdays after 5pm is good. However I have noticed that it also depends on the kind of content you are posting. For me, more personal messages generally garner more likes on any day.

Hi, I'm Melissa, a NM major from NUS.

At my previous internship, my company sent me for a social media course conducted by Social Metric (a local social media management company). According to them, it is effective to post social media content during times that users are most likely to use social media. They found out through analysis that the best times were during the morning and evening commutes, as well as after dinner, simply because more people are on FB at that time. From my own experience, it seems that the evening commute period serves up more likes and reactions. I also find that posts which stir strong emotions (humour, sadness, righteousness) receive more attention on social media.

Good point because personally I spend most of my daily Facebooking/Tweeting during my morning/evening commute. I look around me, everyone else seems to be doing the same too.

Hi there! I was once a social media manager for a society in campus. When you're an admin of a Facebook page, there is a feature called 'Page Insights' in which you can find out when your page is most active with users liking and/or commenting on your posts. My experience affirms that the best times are during the day as people commute to work/school and also in the evenings during dinner time. Lunch hours are good too since people have the tendency to scroll through their feeds as they feed themselves (LOL). If you're looking to post content geared towards students like the undergraduates, Sunday nights are actually a good time. Like what a friend of mine mentioned, that would be the time when students would be in a frenzy to complete their backlog of work after a weekend fun out. And as they clear their school email accounts and complete their work online, they would frequently have their Facebook tab open to occasionally scroll through their feeds.

Perhaps it will work for you. Try it out! :)

Hey guys, this is a slightly tricky one.

I suppose a couple of years ago, "ideal posting times" was still a metric worth tracking and optimising. BUT as soon as our good friends at Facebook decided to reduce organic reach to near zero, optimal engagement rate and reach is only attainable via paid posts.

Nevertheless, tracking visitor traffic and engagement via Facebook Insights is a good way to plan your paid media support - especially since Facebook now allows day-parting of ads in 15 minute blocks.

You'll actually find a lot of info about Facebook advertising on their enterprise site, you should check it out.

Cheers!
