The official map of South America can be found here.

This thread is for any and all claims to territory on the map of South America, whether new, old, revised or revamped.

Two simple rules:

  1. Anybody may claim anywhere.
Any disputes that cannot be resolved by the parties involved will go to the Territorial Disputes Court. Ridiculous claims, e.g. "all of South America" will be dismissed outright.

  2. No new landmasses.
If a land doesn't exist in real life in South America, it doesn't on the map. I may add parts of Central America and the Caribbean but there'll be no "Atlantis", etc.
For new claims only, please complete the form below. Your population will be restricted by your place on the map. In other words, you can't have the population of Brazil living in Guyana, etc.

Code:

[b]Country name:[/b]
[b]Population:[/b]
[b]Claim:[/b]

That's it! Get claiming!

SI has claimed a part of your territory. You may either choose to resolve that dispute amongst yourselves or you may utilise the newly establish Territorial Disputes Court to mediate, and ultimately rule on, the dispute.

Deferred. Only citizens may request a place on the map. You'll have to wait until you're physically in South America for 48 hours before you can apply for citizenship. I'll add you after that time (you won't need to re-apply) but your proposed territory is far too large, especially for such a small population.

The majority of that will be added at the next update (which may be a while). Claims on SSA's territories are currently being deferred. He's said he's coming back and until he actually does or confirms he is not returning to South America, then he remains on the map. Any crossing claims will be made a DZ.

For the purposes of the official map, Antarctica doesn't exist. Otherwise it'll just set off a wanky claims race.

Also South Georgia & Sandwich Islands are currently part of Neragua, so they'll become a disputed zone on the next map.

Tecán would like to claim the Jujuy province of Argentina. We claim these as our native people's ancestoral lands.

I think you have to ask for the court's intervention. At least, if I've read right.

Good luck with that one. I currently own the Galapagos Islands and I'll be damned if I'm handing them over.

But if we claim non-regional colonies and territories will they still be recognized by the regional government as territories of countries beyond the borders of the region?

Here's the problem with that though: if you claim colonies off of the map then so can everybody else. It won't be long before a small claim in say, Africa, becomes one country claiming Russia, Canada and China.

Therefore, as far as I'm concerned, if it's not on the map, it's not up for grabs. Claim external colonies if you wish but the official map will not recognise them.
