For awhile now, I have been having a hard time getting sleep. In fact, there have been some occasions where I dont get any sleep at all. The only problem is now it is summer, my dad needs my help to prepare for harvest season and I cant seem to focus on my work due to lack of sleep. Anyone have any suggestions or advice of what I should do? |

Go see a doctor. Or just wind down before you go to sleep - don't be on the computer or watching tv - have at least 2 hours away from them before you go to bed and it might be easier to fall asleep. Have a nice hot milky drink too like hot chocolate. Unless it's boiling where you live in which case have a glass of water. |

I never had that problem I need my full 8-9 hours of sleep. The best way to do it it is 1. Get comfy 2. Make sure you have the lights off and 3. let your mind wander, and if it doesn't, make up some type of scenario or story. If this doesn't work within two hours, I don't think it will work. Don't lay around, make sure to use up energy throughout the day, and eventually your body will need rest. If this doesn't work I suggest using 5-HTP, it's a supplement my Dad used when he had insomnia for week. It builds up serotonin that your body could be possibly be lacking. (Make sure you do your own research before taking it though; it's good to know what you're putting into your body) Make note that if you do go to the doctor and they prescribe you something that there will be side effects, so be cautious. |

My mind wanders too much when I go to bed, I try to sleep but I'm thinking about too many things. I had 5 hours of sleep last night because I was reading fanfic and it was a really long story >.< And then i had an exam at 9:30 this morning but I think it went ok And now I have hiccups :-S |

My mind wanders a lot as well, but I fall asleep anyways LOL I like to make up Naruto fanfics while in bed, or just scenarios, you like the 'what ifs' XD A fanfic can keep me up all night if it's good But only if if its not a school night, otherwise my parents would kill me XDStrangely I dont get hiccups, mine or more like squawks :lol: And I usually only get one. |

I'm not lucky LOL When I say squawk I really mean squawk, and it's really loud, probably because I only get one, plus it's random. I was watching a scary movie once, and there was this quiet moment (You know like where you think something is going to happen and your all tense?) And then I squawked (hiccuped?) and my younger sister next to me jumped off the couch, I scared the crap out of her XD |

im gonna tell u somethin very embarrasing..... i am a christmas fanatic! i love christmas like a child! so i am so hyper i can never get to sleep! i had to knock myself out! it worked but i woke up in the middle of the night with a huge headache! this is a tip write it down! Never knock urself out! |

I try to stay up as long as I can before I am about to pass out...yep
but on school nights I go to bed at 10:00 as for sleeping problems, I sometimes get good sleep but not always. its always at randome times...??? |
