Hey, as some of u guys noe, I'm intending to go fer a free and easy trip to Japan fer 2 wks tis coming sem break. So, I'm starting to plan my itinerary! I've only been to the 'tourist-friendly' conventional cities such as Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto, fer my previous 3 trips to Japan.

And I've not really seen the other side of Japan, namely fully traditional towns, samurai and ninja heritage museums (are there? lolx) etc. So, I was wondering if any seasoned traveller to Japan can intro some nice places?

If anybody's interested in travelling to Japan and dun mind me as a travel partner, pls free free to let me noe too. Thanks. :)

If you are going to Hokkaido in June-July and want to see flowers Farm Tomita is the place to go. Sunflowers are only out in August (alas, our term would have started by then) but you can see lavendars in the greenhouse as well as other flowers.

Wa... Seriously lor... QL, u're so... GL... :( Dun share Japanese girls wif me... Make fun of my Japanese proficiency... Now, u dun wanna tell me abt tis... LoL! :ph43r:

Anyway, phuajy, do u tink a trip up to Hokkaido is worth it? How long will the Shinkansen take from Tokyo or Osaka? I'm afraid I'll spend too much time travelling and go there zhuobo, cos' my perception of Hokkaido is that it's only worthwhile to go during winter cos' it's the main selling pt of Hokkaido guide tour pkgs, and Hokkaido isn't really highlighted fer summer holidays.

Another thing is tt I'm unfamiliar wif Hokkaido. I'm afraid I'll get lost and wadnot lol... Wad other attractions and entertainment are there in Hokkaido? If u can name me a few more, I might be convinced to make the trip up to Hokkaido... Besides, I would really want to visit different places frm my previous trips!

Watanabe sensei? She lives in Wakayama and I didn't noe until my 5th or 6th lesson wif her. She dun seem willing to talk abt her town tt much. And besides, my parents liked the place when they went there, which means sth is wrong. :) I've heard of their journeys to the fish farm and all the scenic spots... Ohhh tt bores me... :D

Of cos' I'm not despising the countryside. In fact, I'll be searching my travel guidebook fer at least a gd countryside town to go to fer the experience! If anyone noes firsthand, pls lemme noe!

Hokkaido is a major consideration after hearing such gd reviews! How long will the Shinkansen take to reach there frm Tokyo?

Hi Nice to meet you!

Hokkaido is my home town(I was born in Asahikawa city and living in Sapporo City) and a very very nice place to travel. Haha
especially, Furano is a qute beautiful place.

Hokkaido is a little bit far from Tokyo. So you have to buy an air ticket. You cannot go there by Shinkansen. So you have time(at least 1 week) and money, pls come to Hokkaido!

:D

you are interested in Ninja, right?
I recomend you this place.

Iga-ryu Ninja Museum
http://iganinja.jp/en/index.html

I have never been to this city. So actually I don't know about this museum well.

But Iga city in Mie Prefecture is famous as a home of Ninja. Moreover, it's not far from Osaka. It's btw Osaka and Tokyo.

Hajimemashite Jun-san!

Thx fer telling me so much info abt nice places in Japan! Woo, the ninja museum gonna be darn cool. Is there one fer samurais? I like samurais better, actually... If I'm feeling rich, I may consider buying a lifesize katana replica! :D

My parents wanted to bring me to Hokkaido last Dec but they said the airport tax was too heavy (more than $200 per person), so they scraped the plans. :( I've only been to the stretch frm Tokyo to Osaka, and I'm quite unfamiliar wif the south and north, so I'm all ears if u can elaborate on this!

Dang, exchg program is so cool. I'm gonna try applying for Tokyo Institute of Technology next sem. :)
