Many Sony PXW-X400 users feedback something wrong happened to XAVC L MXF footage in Avid Media Composer on Mac. They only can hear part of the sound. It seems like some other sound lost. Sony PXW-X400 can record with four audio channels. How to Load Sony PXW-X400 XAVC L MXF footage to Avid Media Composer successfully.

Step 1. Load MXF files.

Connect Sony PXW-X400 to Mac computer, transfer XAVC L MXF footage to your Mac with the entire folder.

Click "Add Video" or "Add from folder" button to choose your MXF files.

Step 2. Choose the preset output format

Hit the format bar and follow "Avid Studio" to select "Avid DNxHD 1080p(*.mov)" as the proper choice for Avid Media Composer.

Step 3. Multi-Track Settings

This is an outstanding feature of iMixMXF. In the Multi-track Settings window, you can choose which audio track to output, and specify what codec you’d like to encode with.

Note:
You can’t edit the MXF video if choosing multi-track output formats. And before clicking Settings button to set video/audio parameters, you need to choose a file from list.

Step 4. Start the conversion.

Click the "Convert" button in the main UI. The App will start converting XAVC L MXF footage files to Avid DNxHD 1080p(*.mov) at once. After the conversion is finished, you can load and edit Sony PXW-X400 XAVC L MXF footage in Avid Media Composer without any problem. Enjoy!
