Character Creation Guide This tutorial is a step-by-step guide on how to fill out the Character Creation Template and sucessfully apply a character. Following this guide is probably the quickest way of getting your application accepted, so read carefully! Copy the application code into a new thread in this The thread should be titled Surname_Name of your character. If it's an unfinished application, the thread should be named [WIP] Surname_Name or something along the lines of that. IMPORTANT: The Topic Description needs to be your rank. So, if you're a Genin, write Genin, if you're a Chuunin, write Chuunin.
This section's purpose is for tracking the owner's profile and character money. Since it's precoded, you leave it like this. Later on, a moderator will edit this section to add or subtract your ryo.
Your character name needs to be Japanese, or atleast Japanese sounding. It also needs to be in this given format (Surname - Name), which is standard for the Japanese culture. If you're a part of a clan, you need to link your lastname to the clan's page in the clan archive. Your nickname can be anything you want, if it's not vulgar or conflicting with any other rule. Your picture needs to first be claimed (if it's not custom-made), in the Face Claim thread.
Date of Birth - When was he born? Exact date in Day/Month/Year system. Here, 6 months = 1 year, and the present year you can check inside IC Information board. Physical appearance is a category where atleast a paragraph or two will be needed. Even if you do have a character picture, you need to give a detailed description of not only how your character appears, but his physical gesticulations or even the way he walks. Don't forget to include body features such as scars in here, as well. Clothes and accessories includes the clothing the character is usually seen in, his accessories, where he wears his forehead protector etc. A paragraph in here should do it.
Village is the village your character affiliates with (e.g. the village who's symbol he wears on his forehead protector). If your character is a missing ninja, write N/A.Rank can be Genin or Chuunin at start. You cannot RP an academy student. Remember, the lower the rank, the higher the bonuses are on how many jutsu and skill levels you're granted at the beginning. Chakra Affinity is your character's element. Genin and Chuunin can only have 1, but you can grant the second one when you reach Jounin, and the third one when you reach Kage. Combat style is where you describe how your character will act in combat. Is he an all-rounder? Does he prefer close combat or long range fighting? This should atleast be a short paragraph long. Kekkei Genkai is only available if you're a part of the clan. Name that clan's bloodline limit here. Inventory is to be organized however you want it to be organized. It's customary for people to have spoiler brackets for where they would carry an item (e.g. hip pouch, leg pouch, backpack etc.). Later on, you can, via Modifications, purchase items. For starters, you only get basic equipment; 5 kunai knives and 15 shuriken.
Now, we reach the stats. As you can see, there's 8 of them. You can find an explanation on what each of these categories stand for in this board, so I suggest reading this first. Each of these stats will have a mastery level, which are, as follows:
Genins start with 2,600 ryo to spend on masteries. Chuunin start with 4,800 ryo to spend on masteries. Special Jounin NPCs start with 9,000 ryo to spend on masteries. Jounin NPCs start with 12,000 ryo to spend on masteries. NOTE: Each mastery you buy, you write it in the category without writing the prices. In the brackets next to it, you write (1), as you're in the first tier of that mastery. Later, when you train a new mastery, you will be at 0. This is just a starting bonus. NOTE: Once you buy all your masteries, you'll probably have a 100 ryo or something change which you can't spend on anything. Go ahead and put that in the Money section up below to your current 100 ryo. If you can buy a mastery with the leftover money, you are not allowed to keep it, but you have to spend it on the mastery. Later on, you can train and buy higher masteries, but you'll find more of that in the Skills guide. As for jutsu, or techniques, you can find an archive of them: here. Notice how all of them are ranked, from D to A. Our jutsu rules dictate that you can only have a certain number of jutsu at startup, but you can train more after the creation of your character. Note: You start with as many E ranks in your chosen fields as you wish, but you must have a higher ranked jutsu in that area. This does not apply later on and you will need to buy them as normal. • Genins, at beginning, get all of the Academy ranks, 5 D ranks, 2 C-ranks. • Chuunins, get 10 D ranks, 5 C-ranks, and 1 B-rank. • Special Jounin NPCs, get 15 D ranks, 7 C-ranks, and 2 B-ranks. • Jounin NPCs, get 20 D ranks, 10 C-ranks, 5 B-ranks and 1 A-rank. • Kage NPCs, get 25 D ranks, 15 C-ranks, 7 B-ranks, 2 A-ranks and 1 S-rank. There's also a set of rules on how many ranked jutsu you can learn with each mastery - but this is only for learning jutsu, and does not apply to this starter jutsu set.
This is one of the most important parts that concern your character making. Personality should atleast be a good paragraph long, anything bigger than that is a personal choice. You can list stuff like strenghts and weaknesses here, likes/dislikes, his habbits, his nindo, and so on. The more, the merrier. Remember, this is a description on which you'll base your character's behaviour, so you better define it well. History is the background of your character, how he got in his current position, his childhood, his adulthood etc. Normally, higher-rank characters (well, older characters) should have a longer history. But even for Genin, we have a minimum of atleast 3 paragraphs of text. Be sure that your history doesn't interfere with the current canon (e.g. don't invent Kages, don't invent happenings that weren't in the timeline/plot and so on). Once you finish all of that, go ahead and hit the Post button. A moderator will in short notice check your thread and either approve it, or tell you what's wrong with it so you can edit it. Please be patient, and don't PM moderators about your application, they're well aware of it. NOTE: You can edit the coding of this application and style it in any way you'd like! You can even add categories, but you can't in any way edit or delete the existing ones. |

NPC Creation Guide Creating NPCs can come in handy, and is actually a good way to make ryo for your character. Each NPC that is accepted, gets your character a certain amount of money. Basically, repeat the process of making a player character, just add a [NPC] before the name of the NPC, and use this thread template.
