![]() Kitansho Castle was most certainly a new addition to the province of Kakegawa and in some eyes was considered a rarity of sorts, given that it was unusual to see a castle under a decade in age let alone a year. While many would exaggerate that the freshly built fortress had seemed to suddenly appear overnight in what had once been unoccupied mountain ranges, it was true that the building’s construction had been completed extraordinarily swiftly, taking just shy of two weeks for the final touch to be laid not long after the Asakura clan’s participation in the war against Konoha. Then again such a feat was hardly surprising given who Kitansho Castle belonged to. With a clan as large as the Asakura’s and with the resources they owned, along with the legion of highly-skilled crafters and artisans that the clan birthed and trained, it was little wonder that they could pull off such a thing. After all they had managed a similar feat before in the past not that long ago, constructing the monolithic Ichijodani Fortress in less than a year. As such, the castle itself was a grand sight to behold as it lay atop a minor mountain found within the centre of the valley, as expected of anything built by the hands of such a clan. The multiple towers that made up Kitansho Castle cut a striking figure against the background of the alps that lay beyond, with each tower seeming to have been carved from a single titanic white stone rather than constructed, as the central citadel rose high into the sky. For a structure that functioned more akin to a forwards barracks than a fully fledged permanent residence, it may have surprised some to learn that no expenses were spared when outfitting the castle to ensure that for the various troops and soldiers that would occupy the castle would not be lacking for comfort. Perhaps most telling about the lengths the Asakrua had gone to to keep the castle within their standards was that instead of the expected shared living quarters for their soldiers, each soldier was given their own private quarters to rest and reside within when not on duty. Each apartment was finely decorated and abundantly furnished with the same ornate furniture that could be found within their own homes, making them almost indistinguishable from the homes situated within the Ichijodani Fortress if not for the sheer size difference. It was the same for all the quarters of the castle, from the shared communal areas such as the kitchens to the armories found within. And then there were the rooms that would not have been expected in such a building, such as the guest rooms and offices found on the upper floors; the castle even had a splendidly designed lounge bar stocked with drinks normally never found outside of a noble’s personal stock, complete with a stage for entertainment purposes. (The clan had yet to actually find anyone willing to travel to such a remote place to provide said entertainment to their troops, but hey it was there!) The layout itself was also novel; upon ascending the mountain path leading up to the castle visitors would find the entrance to the keep would in fact be just past the midway point in the construction’s height, due to the fact the vast majority of the castle would have been built underground into the mountain itself like many Asakura structures. The rooms and quarters found in the upper sections would be those more suitable for hosting guests or for comfort pleasures, such as the shared kitchens and meeting rooms, while it was those below the surface that were of much greater tactical value to the clan and thus would benefit more from the defensive properties the mountain itself would provide, such as their living quarters, armouries and vaults. Allowing them to have their comforts and pleasures but remain practical all the while. It also helped to prevent the most common issue most fortresses had with shinobi forces, in which the invading forces would simply scale the construct itself and enter from above rather than try to strong arm their way in through the main gates; by housing the most important areas underground and only having the minor areas above the surface, it forced invaders to enter the fortress itself in order to gain access to what it was they may have been seeking. Situated in the north western section of the province, roughly a kilometre north of the Asakura’s home of the Ichijodani Fortress itself and placing it several kilometres south of the northern border of the Kakegawa province, many intelligence agencies had come to the conclusion that the castle had been built as a new defensive-measure by the clan after they had discovered that the Highwind still had a stronghold within the Land of Iron to the north, and had witnessed the strength of the clan itself when the Highwind had come to the aid of Konoha during the war. The sheer size of the castle itself made it clear that it was not simply a lookout tower of sorts, with it being much more suited to being able to host an army within its walls. This facet was only further solidified by the location of it within the valley of a mountain range that would result in it being of little use in scouting for invading forces unless they were already marching onto the fortress itself. At first the agencies had looked at their maps and had pondered over why that seemingly asinine location had been chosen for Kitansho Castle, given that more practical routes were readily available which would allow marching armies from the north to simply march around the mountain range and avoid the fortress. The conclusion they reached eventually to such a question was simple; the eternal blizzard of the Kakegawa province, caused by the storm of the Divide itself that lay beyond the western border of the province. Albeit, at the most the intelligence agencies would know of was of the blizzard itself; even knowledge about the existence of the Divide itself was a closely guarded secret the Asakura clan had taken upon itself to maintain to the best of its abilities. Still, most knew of the blizzard ravaging the province itself, that was akin to seeing a sheer white wall upon approaching the area. The deadly storm had proven to be enough of a deterrent to prevent armies from attempting to march through the storm, given how easily it would have been for such a large force to quickly be cut off from one another when it cut vision down to only a few feet in any direction; so far only one small group had managed to break through the blizzard without requiring assistance from the Asakura themselves in some manner. While the outerfields around the mountain range were endlessly assaulted by the storm, the valley within the mountain range appeared to be shielded from the storm by the towering mountains themselves. And unless an invading force wanted to take their chances trekkng through the blizzard, the valley was the only safe path to take from the north to reach Ichijodani Fortress to take minimal casualties. Making Kitansho Castle a vital stronghold to maintain their defensive line to the clan…. ...Except all of this just happened to be coincidentally convenient for the clan when they had constructed the castle. True, it was well situated in order to cut off a path most armies would attempt to take, but that was just by sheer chance. And while the castle could easily house its own army, this was not the case in most situations. In the event they discovered an invading force from the north, their forces could be mobilised to swiftly occupy the castle….But most of the time there was only enough within the castle to make it appear fully occupied and man the walls. It had been incredibly easy to subtly drip feed all of this misleading but true information to investigating scouts and spies through their own counter-intelligence groups, making it seem as if their enemies had found out such facets about the castle themselves and what its true purpose was. No, the castle had been constructed atop the lair of Brynhildr, though it was not so much to protect the dragon with the title of ‘Queen of Iron’ herself but an item she had brought along with her when she had arrived to the Land of Iron. The Holy Grail. An item that could grant tremendous power to both its wielder and those they chose to bestow such strength upon. Of course the clan itself had no interest in such a revered item in terms of using it for themselves; something that could enhance and augment the chakra of its warriors was of little use to a clan like the Asakura that held the use of chakra in complete disdain and preferred to rely upon their own sheer physical abilities rather than make use of outside sources when fighting. But they knew that the shinobi factions would have no qualms making use of such an item and would surely kill for such an advantage over their enemies, for something that could tip any future battle to their favour with ease and would require their enemies to come up with entire counter measures for that aspect alone. After all, the factions had started wars and assaulted villages before just for the chance to get their hands upon one of the nine Bijuu. And the clan did not want to see the villages in possession of such a power, especially not when their goals still involved the conquering of the continent in its entirety. So much like the Divide, the clan had decided to guard the Holy Grail to prevent it from falling into the hands of others for their own uses. Thankfully, it seemed that none had learnt of its presence within the Land of Iron and who had possession of it currently. Until now. --- Their elemental variety is....frustrating. Obito's Sharingan was practically taxed to the limit, keeping up with the chakra activity of both shinobi. It wasn't overly surprising in Kakashi's case. That was him....always a genius. Skilled in all fields of shinobi expertise - he was a captain, a leader, a martial artist, a Ninjutsu expert, skilled with illusions, master of infiltration and sabotage....in all ways, he was a model shinobi. Since becoming a Jounin, Kakashi had gone on to develop downright impossible expertise with all five elements to further improve himself - one of the few shinobi able to do with no genetic advantage or supplementary technique at all. This Makaze seemed to somehow possess five affinities in her chakra as well - but as a Makaze it wasn't quite so outrageous. His own elemental skills had been expanded with the introduction of Hashirama Senju's bloodline into his system, but it still left him at a disadvantage...and only his Katon was anything to be relied upon. He could perhaps make use of Mokuton, if he got the opportunity. That was going to be more difficult in this particular encounter - Kakashi had shifted to melee emphasis, and Tenshin seemed the type of Makaze to rain down attacks with abandon, making it all the more difficult to get through her tirade. He could have simply left, but he would have to contend with Yahiko.....whom he did have to check on, incidentally. At this point, it was probably better to shift planes than to expend energy fighting off every thing that Tenshi and Kakashi did.... Three on one combat was more vexing than anticipated. Kakashi's attack, as circumstances just happened to decree, was indeed aimed at the Mokuton Bunshin. Perhaps the greatest perk of the wood clone in combat was taking severe damage was not enough to damage to disperse the clone. So, it would be able to allow Kakashi's Raikiri to rake through it, sending splinters and shards of wood into the air. The clone, however, would commit its all to attacking Kakashi as he rushed in, using its own Sharingan to read into the linear charge. The Mokuton: Sennin Annai would be a rather appropriate retort, coming from a clone....perhaps Obito would get lucky and his enemies would think it merely a property of the clone, but given Kakashi's intellect and his inability to know just well informed the Makaze was, they might recognize it as one of Madara's Mokuton instead - Madara had often utilized it to streamline and improve the performance of the Mokuton techniques into a single process, using his body as a source. It relied on the same principle as that of the Moku Bunshin, using the body's own cellular make-up as fuel by converting it into vegetation and using chakra as a source of life. This technique allowed the user to produce almost any kind of extension of wood from their body, allowing them to encase themselves in wooden armor or create shields and weapons out of wood, including spikes that can serve as projectiles. In this case, the clone transformed its entire right arm into a massive wooden mallet, a tactic often employed by Konoha shinobi Yamato, and attempted to greet Kakashi by bashing him in the chest with the hammer as he ripped a chunk right out of the clone.... As for Tenshi...he didn't have time to mess with that. Obito's Mangekyou Sharingan whirled to life again, creating the same iconic distortion as Kakashi's own Kamui....and as the elemental tirade came rushing towards him, Obito disappeared.... ...and re-emerged atop the ruined castle wall, glancing around for Yahiko. Finding the youth's monolithic chakra shouldn't be difficult to his Sharingan. While searching, Obito performed the hand seals for the Kuchiyose no Jutsu, cutting himself with a simple wooden spike. He turned his hand to the side, remaining unphased as a colossal puff of smoke burst from his hand, the air popping as a heavy presence suddenly dominated the region around him. The Kuchiyose of his trump card, Saiken - the Rokubi. Saiken was an enormous white — with a light blueish tint — bipedal slug with stubby arms, feet and six long tails. It had two prominent optical tentacles (eyes) and hole-like openings as a mouth. Its entire body is covered in a thick, slimy substance, and the normal energy and peppiness of the beast was nowhere to be found, thanks to Obito's Genjutsu. As Obito searched for Yahiko, he noticed something a little odd about the castle and the walls around him... ".....I feel like it's missing a few pieces since I saw it a few moments ago...." (Mokuton Nintai is VH power and cost. Medium cost to Kamui away. (: Sorry for the short post, just wasn't feeling it I guess >_> Hard to write a guy I'm not a fan of I suppose.) |

![]() So it seems you have finally found something worth my attention... Yahiko Makaze shifted slightly, raising his head and turning to glance over his shoulder the moment he detected the familiar - and disgusting - chakra signature belonging to Obito Uchiha. It was an unexpected occurrence, for the bothersome and frustrating Uchiha to reappear just like that, returning to this realm so suddenly; Kakashi and Tenshi were more than enough to defeat this foe with the advantage of his Kamui very nearly nullified, so his arrival here meant he had been hoping to escape them, or feared leaving Yahiko himself unchecked. The only aspect of his reappearance that bothered Yahiko was how seemingly unharmed the cowardly Uchiha was, though he knew to control his frustration, reminding himself that only but a few moments had passed since he had seen his two companions off... At the very least, Obito Uchiha - the last of the Akatsuki, by Yahiko's recollection - had been thoughtful enough to leave him with an opponent that would demand some effort on his part. Facing one of the legendary nine in single combat was suicidal for very nearly the entirety of this world, with even whole nations trembling at the thought of a wayward beast wandering into their territory. Their might was such that entire armies could be annihilated without the creature noticing they had ever been under attack, and their signature attack - the mighty Bijuudama - had since become the standard of raw unadulterated and overwhelming firepower in the shinobi world. Unfortunately for this beast, it had been summoned to face one of the rare few individuals whom had fought something far more powerful... "I suppose I should commend your sheer audacity, if I thought to compliment you at all." Yahiko commented while floating to eye-level with the hypnotized beast, his blue gaze flickering between the Rokubi and Obito in equal measure. He leaned back to recline in the air, crossing one leg over the other while his left arm was left to rest in his lap, his body slowly floating to the right while circling the duo. He paused in the air after several moments, causing the creature to face away from the castle if it wished to engage him, with the Asakura fortress in the far distance - if any reinforcements were sent by the main stronghold, they would have to contend with the fallout of the coming battle. Black mist filled the air behind him, creating an obnoxious black cloud before condensing into several dozen black spikes, each aimed for the Rokubi, while Yahiko regarded Obito with a bored expression, resting his chin against his right fist. "I suggest you return to the battle you ran away from, Uchiha. You have no place in this war." --- This one was the clone...! Kakashi felt his entire body snap into action the instant his electrified palm came into contact with what he had expected to be the body of his former ally, his crimson eye widening in realization at the wooden bits filling the air. His vision was focused straight ahead, centered right on the clone body before him while he considered all of his options; Obito had used his own Mangekyou Sharingan to escape from the Kamui realm, but that didn't quite mean he had escaped them in full. He had always been too prideful to just run away, and even if he wanted to just walk away there was obviously something keeping him here - he had no reason to be here in the first place, other than to help the Asakura for some reason, or to try and claim the Grail. Whatever his reason, a simple appearance wasn't enough... and if he tried to engage anyone else, he would be at risk with two people inside the Kamui's realm. All of that was to say he had no choice but to deal with them, and as swiftly as he possibly could. While an appropriate response to someone trying to fight him in this place would probably be to abandon the conflict and let them succumb to dehydration and starvation, he neither had the time or the opportunity this time - he would need Kamui to defend himself from the onslaught that Yahiko, or their other allies, would unleash at the sight of him, in an immediate sense, and in the long term he was well aware Kakashi could pull Tenshi and himself out of the realm in short order. No, there was no escape for him this time. The flow of chakra within the clone caught Kakashi's attention, his scarlet eye shooting to the side while his Raikiri tore through the midsection. Watching the way it moved chakra, how the chakra funneled through the limb and altered it, and the ease with which it had done so... even if he wanted to think it something the odd Wood Clones originally created by Hashirama were capable of, he had already seen a similar technique from Madara Uchiha during the Fourth Shinobi War. It did make sense for Obito to have such a technique, if he had been taken in and trained by Madara so long ago... "Tch...!" Kakashi grunted as his body felt like it was moving on its own, following the information provided by the Sharingan eye to react to the incoming attack. He simultaneously pulled with his arm to yank it free of the clone body, both to release himself from it before it tried to grab him with its other arm and before it could think to use the wood in its chest to attack his arm... and brought his other arm up, thrusting it towards the wooden hammer that the clone was using to attack him. Chakra sprang to life in his palm, his fingers curling slightly as if he were trying to gently hold it, the blue light spiraling and tumbling about while taking the shape of a sphere. While his signature Raikiri could cut through the hammer, he wasn't sure if that was enough to stop the attack entirely, forcing him to rely on the technique of the Fourth Hokage instead - while it would have a similar power to Raikiri, the Rasengan would have enough explosive force to blast the hammer back even if it survived the clash, allowing Kakashi to leap away unharmed... Of course. Of course he'd run away from an assault that was above his capabilities to handle. Well, all that really meant to Tenshi was that he was choosing Yahiko over her. There were any number of reasons to do that, but the primary one was probably fear. Fear of leaving Yahiko unchecked in the 'real' world. Fear of Tenshi and Kakashi being able to outdo and overpower him in this world. Even the instinctual fear of death. For all his posturing and idiocy, Obito Uchiha was still human, after all. Not that it mattered, of course. Only one of Tenshi and Obito were leaving this battlefield alive, And Tenshi sure as hell wasn't going to let herself lose. Still though, choosing Yahiko over her. That was unforgivable, even if the man wasn't already marked for death. Even worse, leaving her (and Kakashi, who is a very highly capable shinobi in his own right!) a mere wood clone, thinking that would be able to keep her busy. For the moment, she turned back towards Kakashi and took stock of his fight against the clone just as it was preparing to do its arm hammer thing. She wouldn't be in time to help Kakashi with that, but he surely had his own plan to neutralize it - unlike Tenshi, he excelled in close-quarters. But what she could do was counterattack herself. After all, an even clash of high-powered ninjutsu at close quarters was inevitably going to end in the combatants creating distance to prepare their next moves. And that's an opening that a third party can take advantage of. Like Tenshi, who was preparing her usual Totsunyuu Kawa to fashion a whip of water that would slam down on Obito's clone after the Wood Hammer/Rasengan clash, attempting to catch him as he moved to create space after the clash (Or at least as Tenshi predicted he would). With any luck, the clone would be too focused on Kakashi to notice her attack before it was too late and she could get a cheap shot in. Regardless of how that attack went though, Tenshi would reposition herself just a few feet behind Kakashi after he cleared his own distance. She didn't bother saying anything. Instead, she just took the time to prepare for her next move. What that would be depended on what Kakashi and the clone did, though. Until the real Obito came back, it was back to the 2v1 strats, and complementing her ally's movements and attacks. The chakra use wasn't particularly concerning here, because even if Tenshi's chakra pool wasn't notably larger than Obito's to begin with, he had exacerbated the disadvantage by creating the clone. The chakra used on the techniques that Obito had chosen to use Kamui to avoid paled in comparison to the outright division of a clone user's chakra pool. And who knows how much chakra he'd spend trying to deal with Yahiko before coming back here? There was no way he'd flee back there, only to immediately come back without doing anything. On that front, the progression of the fight was entirely advantageous for Tenshi's side, and she damn well knew it. But she also knew that relying on attrition and grinding the man to dust was not as sure of a thing as it sounded, and that she'd very likely have to close this out with her own ability. "Uchiha?" I see.....that explains everything. This boy is one of those... It was foolish of him not to figure it out sooner - no wonder they had such a perfect formation, and knew precisely how to confront him. This boy in front of him - and likely the female Makaze within Kamui - were two of the time travelers that Madara and Minori had spoken of. They were confronting Obito with a flawless plan not out of sheer luck or general discipline....but out of foresight. Evidently at some point in their time h is identity had been uncovered, and the secrets of Kamui had doubtless followed. That was the reason they had brought Kakashi then....Obito wondered how his hold comrade had reacted to the revelation of his identity. He certainly seemed composed and resigned now. Then again, that was Kakashi....he had always been focused on the mission first and foremost. Obito let out a sigh, regaining his own composure atop the Sanbi as he listened to Yahiko. Evidently his schemes must have done no small amount of hartm to the young man in front of him - there was an oppressive indignation and scorn in Yahiko's presence, beyond the fiery energy of his chakra. To say he disliked Obito would be an understatement - there was a powerful resentment in his tone. So, this was an enemy Obito would ahve in the future? The young female Makaze was probably similar....it wasn't hard to come up with a few ways Obito could have offended the Makaze clan in general, though somehow this seemed oddly personal.....then again, it always was with Makaze anyway. "I haven't run from anything. But fighting a battle on two fronts does require I see to both as well as I can," Obito responded, dipping his head as he brought his palm up to his covered face. He fiddled with the mask for a moment, and then cast it aside with an almost relieved huff - if his identity was known now, there was no point in wearing it. The cold wind snapping at his face was almost refreshing against his scarred face, with both of his Sharingan glowing like red-hot coals, with one eye twisted into a Mangekyou shape. Obito folded his arms across his chest, his shock of messy, brown, spiky hair fluttering in the wintry clutches of the air as well, his clothing snapping and fluttering against the cold gale. "You evidently have something to prove, for all your bravado. It would seem a shame not to see the face of a man you so desperately want dead." The brainwashed bijuu moved at some unseen prompt, raising its eye stalks high as Obito stood atop its head. Near the mouth of the beast, black and white energy began to gather, the white fading into the black as a massive sphere of chakra formed. It let out a hollow shriek as the energy quaked, as if struggling to contain itself...and then the Bijuudama was fired directly at Yahiko, while Obito remained standing atop his enslaved beast, watching Yahiko intently to see just how he'd react - the boy's chakra was colossal, and after the display he had put on at the start of this battle, something like a Bijuudama aimed directly at him was probably standard....but it would be a sight to see all the same. -- Boom! The wood clone fighting Kakashi recoiled as the massive mallet collided with the Rasengan, showering splinters and shards in all directions as the arm was blasted back by the collision. The hand reformed without issue, having only been blasted back and lost some of its mass in the mallet form rather than destroyed properly. Chasing Kakashi would have been preferable, but was out of the question as Tenshi stepped in; her Suiton attack forced the clone to roll to one side, giving the Konoha ninja ample time to reset to a neutral state; the clone's slightly weakened statistics also bore fruit, allowing Tenshi's whip to clip the clone's shoulder with the sound of crunching wood. If the clone noticed the damage or was cognizant of any pain, it didn't show it, getting back to his feet. Engaging the two shinobi would be dangerous....but waiting for Kakashi to launch an attack would be equally foolish, if not more so; it would not be difficult for Kakashi to end up getting a cloen of his own involved, allowing for one of his patented decoy tactics for Tenshi to take advantage of. At least if he remained aggressive, his two attackers would have less time to coordinate a plan of attack against him, and he might just separate the two. The wood clone raised its hands in full view of Kakashi, evidently not worried about him copying the six hand seals it performed. "Mokuton Hijutsu: Jukai Kōtan!" Though the name was the same as the legendary Mokuton technique employed by Hashirama Senju, it was lucky for Kakashi and Tenshi that Obito's scale was hardly so impressive. The ground under Kakashi and Tenshi turned to foliage, bursting upwards in a vicious surge of sharp wooden spikes meant to impale the both of them. After attempting to make them move and split with the feint, Obito raised up two more roots, in front of Tenshi and behind Kakashi, intending to impale the two of them, turning the blocks of Kamui into soil, and then began to make another four hand seals, evidently slowing down on purpose to see how they reacted.... (Bijuudama is Bijuudama, you know how it works. World of Trees is Medium for a three meter AoE spike attack, and each tendril is Very High power when it tries to impale them. All have an equal cost to the power.) |

"It seems you give yourself more credit than you deserve in this time, as well. I have no interest in your face, Uchiha." Yahiko exhaled slowly while his body drifted lazily through the air, his back arched slightly as he crossed one leg over the other. The cool breeze tugged at his white hair, causing it to sway about slightly while he kept his two opponents within his field of vision. His blue eyes were dull and his expression was flat while he regarded the massive brainwashed bijuu and the offensive man standing atop it, his chakra fluttering slightly as he considered his options. Even if he had fought something more powerful in his past, he had done so with the assistance of his allies and the desperate desire to survive. Facing something like a Tailed-Beast in this open field on his own was an entirely different encounter, though he was still confident in his own abilities - there were only a rare few uniquely suited to fighting something such as this, after all, and he was hardly about to dread the opportunity to prove himself among such esteemed ranks. In fact, this turn of events was doubtlessly the preferable of all possibilities. It was highly doubtful that Tenshi would be immediately overwhelmed by one of the bijuu, save for perhaps the Hachibi or Kyuubi, but it would easily demand the vast majority of her attention and chakra. Kakashi would only be able to provide so much support as well, lacking in overwhelming firepower as he was... and things only became all the more troublesome for them if Obito was able to strike while they were occupied by the beast. While he dreaded the idea of being separated from the two while they dealt with - and ultimately killed - Obito Uchiha, he was at least capable of dealing with it in short order, denying their target his most powerful ally. It was only unfortunate this poor creature had to suffer his wrath in order for his objective to be accomplished. More than that, he would have to kill the Rokubi to ensure the safety of his allies in the castle... though that was only a momentary inconvenience for a creature such as him, as he would revive some time later elsewhere. The Bijuudama of the Rokubi was hardly of any concern to Yahiko while he considered his next course of action. He had already positioned himself in such a way as to prevent the blast from engulfing the majority of the fortress - the ruins left in the wake of Kagetsu Asakura's own explosive attack were well within the blast radius, but he highly doubted any of his allies were still within the collapsing sections of the fortress. His own chakra surged in response to the Rokubi preparing its attack, flooding his pores and pushing free into the frigid air. Warm blue flames enveloped his body as he activated his signature Makaze Shroud... and he held his ground, stubbornly daring the Rokubi to fire the Bijuudama right at him. BOOM! It was almost enviable to experience the raw power one of the bijuu could release, to watch and comprehend how easily they were able to unleash pure destruction upon the land. The attack was prepared so quickly, released so casually, one would think it was as simple as exhaling for the mighty beast... and it surely was, given the centuries he had enjoyed in perfecting the art. It was sheer unbridled power given flimsy form, resulting in a catastrophic detonation which engulfed much of the mighty Asakura Fortress, reducing whole sections of it to ashen rubble. For Yahiko it was similar to being taken in by light, heat, and force - he could feel his body moving while the flames of his Shroud fought to catch him, and the air around him was shattered by the barrier erected by his Mandala. Smoke was left in the wake of the attack, filling the air between the floating Makaze and his bothersome opponents. How silly. I doubt the Rokubi was left unharmed by an explosion so close to it. Yahiko thought to himself while calculating the angle at which he had been hit, judging how far he had been blasted away while his sixth sense grasped at the air, feeling for his targets. He was unharmed due to his dual layered defense, and the smoke in the air only benefited him - Obito would be unable to read his chakra with the Sharingan, meaning he had a unique opportunity to launch his own counter-attack without worrying about his opponent responding. He just had to make sure he made it count... I suppose it is only fitting that I use mother's power to defeat you. The Azure Demon exhaled sharply with the thought, his body heating up as his chakra began to churn and cycle through his body with increasing frequency. Flames were released from his body as he drew upon the power of his chakra, giving strength to the influence left on his being by the Nibi while he was still within his mother's womb. He raised his hand as it turned to paper, exuding thousands of sheets which reformed his limb into an exact scale replica of the Nibi's head. White and black orbs of chakra gathered between its teeth, forming the signature black orb of a fully realized Bijuudama while he targeted the mammoth chakra signature that was the Rokubi... and he fired the explosive 'bullet' of chakra in short order, quickly forming another and releasing it soon after, followed by a third, and then a fourth... --- He's attacking again. Kakashi kept his right eye closed while focusing his vision on the clone of his former comrade and best friend, his Sharingan glowing vibrantly all the while. He pushed aside all the distracting thoughts that wanted to fill his head, refusing to let himself linger on who he was fighting - it was too dangerous for him to linger on the fact that Obito had survived so many years ago, that he had been active all this time, let alone that he was behind so many terrible events and responsible for such tragedies. Something had happened to him long ago, something that changed him to his very core. It was easier to say that this was just a shell that resembled Obito, rather than Obito himself. Looking at it like that made the situation easier for him to comprehend, it lifted the weight from his shoulders and made it so he could move. At least Obito was still as clumsy as ever, giving away his every move with such blatant mistakes that any competent shinobi could take advantage of. In a way it made sense; the Kamui technique possessed by his eye meant he could afford to make mistakes like that, or that they could even be woven into his style to take advantage of opponents hoping to capitalize on his perceived mistakes. It was a dangerous game that he played, and developing habits like that meant that he was woefully unprepared to deal with anyone that could mitigate or remove the advantage he enjoyed with his Kamui. For Kakashi he was just an opponent too foolish to hide his intentions, and with his attention split between the battle here in the Kamui realm and with Yahiko in the real world he was liable to make even more mistakes... they would just have to take advantage of them. Kakashi quickly raised his hands to form a signature seal, releasing his chakra to form a perfect replica of himself formed by Raiton chakra. The Shadow Clone was a technique he rarely employed so freely, instead hoping to conserve his chakra rather than risk half of it so freely, but it was appropriate for this situation. Obito was hoping to keep them busy, to distract Tenshi from attacking - as long as she worried about his next move and was caught responding to his attacks she would have trouble attacking him in turn. Therefore, the best tactic was for Kakashi to focus on keeping Tenshi safe while helping to distract Obito, letting her focus on attacking him from afar. Which was why the clone turned its attention to Tenshi, swiftly grabbing her by the collar of her shirt while it dashed away with a burst of chakra, relying on its superior stats and enhancement techniques to keep them mobile. It hoisted Tenshi up with ease, placing her on its back rather than carry her in its arms - it would definitely need to form handseals, use Raikiri, or engage in Taijutsu while keeping her safe, after all. From its back she would be able to twist and turn as she needed to keep track of her opponent, and had the freedom to form her handseals and attack without the clone getting in the way. She would just have to adjust to how quickly it would move... such as when it whipped around with an arm held out, the Sharingan it wielded glowing crimson while white lightning erupted from its palm to cleave through the wooden tendril Obito had sent its way. Kakashi, on the other hand, instead moved forward to challenge the clone again, judging the best way to let Tenshi focus on her ranged barrages was to keep Obito and his clone distracted up close. His own Sharingan was spinning as he read the chakra in the ground, hopping left and right while sprinting in short dashes to avoid the spikes rising from the ground, with chakra pouring into his palms to form his signature Raikiri. Rather than dodge the tendril that was aimed for him, he thrust one hand out to carve clean through it, before hauling the arm back and shoving the other out, aiming to force it clean through the clone's head... only to lean to the side and jump away, leaving it in the path of any attack Tenshi sent toward it. (For Yahiko, the Shroud and Mandala were Very High each, and the Bijuudama are Extremely High each. For Kakashi, the clone is obvious enough, and the Raikiri are all Very High as well. The clone also used a High Kage Buyou for a 450% Movement Speed increase to get away from the first attack.) |

How downright mediocre. Even as a clone, and even as a being capable of self-repair, being unable to evade that water whip attack despite trying to was not the mark of a shinobi worth fearing. Of course, a counterattack was imminent. Even if common sense didn't dictate that, the fact that he was weaving signs did. Tenshi could roughly read the signs as a Mokuton technique thanks to Madara's teachings and fascination with Hashirama augmenting her own vast knowledge of Ninjutsu. She couldn't dig through her memories fast enough to identify which one because of how utterly infrequently she needed to do so, but him calling his technique solved that for her. Naming the grand technique was obviously meant to strike fear, but Tenshi doubted that Obito could pull it off at a high level and was dead certain a mere wood clone wouldn't be able to match the scale Hashirama was famous for. Evading and counter-punching would be easy with just the most basic application of a movement technique. Of course, her ally, with the ability to use his own Sharingan to react even faster, beat her to the movement technique. Tenshi didn't resist Kakashi's clone flipping her onto its back, but she was more than a bit dumbfounded at the move and took a second to actually understand what was happening. But when she did, she was actually more offended than anything. At the very least, she resented the notion that she wasn't capable of defending herself from Obito's attacks and she was annoyed that Kakashi would waste his own precious chakra in this manner. But at the same time, even her pride had to admit that it would be easier to attack this way. Kakashi probably had something similar in mind too, hence the tactic. Ok Kakashi, I'll play your game. At least until the real Obito comes back. Clearing her brief flood of emotions after being lifted on Kakashi's back, Tenshi centered herself and began weaving seals for her own attack. She observed Kakashi's real self as she did, aiming to time her attack with his with the precision she had continually demonstrated with both Kakashi and Yahiko prior, at the moment that Obito would be most distracted and least likely to dodge. Though even if he did try to dodge, her two-phase attack would clean that up. The first phase was a fundamental Tachikaze blast, this one shaped as a long blade of wind, akin to the numerous Kamaitachi-themed attacks throughout history. A sharp blade aiming to cleave Obito, almost as if Tenshi herself were wielding a scythe. But her follow-up attack was even more powerful. The ultimately malleable and manipulable Suiton. The visual form was quite similar to the whip that had previously struck true, but both Tenshi's control over it and the power were significantly increased because of the extra chakra she was pouring into it and her increased ability to focus entirely on that attack courtesy of Kakashi's clone. Instead of simply slamming it down as she had prior, she was carefully controlling this one. The image evoked was perhaps closer to a tentacle than a whip, but the result would ultimately be the same. Not only would both her wind blade and Kakashi's Raikiri restrict Obito's movements, but the water would be guided with pinpoint precision to take advantage of that and crash down on Obito's clone for maximum damage. [spoil] High power/cost on the wind blade, Very High on the water. [/spoil] |

Hmm....someone with that level of chakra and confidence wouldn't be defeated in a single attack, surely... Obito stood atop the Sanbi's head, unperturbed by the backlash of the Bijuudama. The shock wave rattled his bones, but the beast itself was enough of a cushion for him, one of its tails wrapping around him to buffer him from the trembling air. When the tail was moved aside, there was only smoke and rubble ahead of the Sharingan user, the unmasked shinobi waiting expectantly - he lacked any sort of sensory ability, but he was neither the type to be overconfident about a victory nor inclined to take precautions against underestimating an enemy, and he highly doubted there were any Makaze worthy of the name who could be slain by a single Bijuudama, even as powerful as the tailed beasts' signature attack was. The questionable factor was, how would the youth retort? Obito was confident he would have been able to follow any movement, so the young man must have blocked it....the Bijuudama had certainly impacted against a solid object. So he was capable of erecting a defense able to withstand the blast, and swiftly at that - all the moreso considering the distance. Obito frowned as a familiar sound filled the air, the same buzzing his own enslaved monstrosity had just created..... He can't possibly....! "Mokuton: Jukai Heki!" (Wood Release: World of Trees Wall) A Mokuton technique utilized by Danzo Shimura for personal defense. the Jukai Heki was not Obito's personal first choice for a technique, just because it reminded him of the old war hawk. Nevertheless, the value of the Mokuton technique's speed and durability were too great for him to ignore out of pettiness. The technique was little more than releasing Mokuton shapes from his Senju cell-laden right arm, allowing him to quickly erect a large tree to serve as a defense or create a shield on his arm. It was as swift to activate as the portal-like Kamui, giving Obito just enough time to erect a barrier to protect himself from Yahiko's Bijuudama.....though not his unfortunate beast of burden. Obito bit back a silent curse as the air continued to shift, with more Bijuudama streaking towards him - the Sanbi was reeling from the first impact, recoiling and shrieking in pain. The blast from the first Bijuudama had been enough to destroy his hasty tower shield, and the rapid-fire blasts were much too fast. He wouldn't have any choice then; his Mangekyou Sharingan spun rapidly, activating his Kamui technique. Against this sort of firepower, he would need to consider more unorthodox options, bringing his hands together as the constant waves of energy and force overlapped with his body, displacing it into his Kamui dimension.... --- Meanwhile, in the Kamui world itself, the wood clone seemed unusually calm and controlled, not at all put off by Kakashi's ingenious feats and unorthodox tactics. The clone finished the four seals, waiting patiently as it feigned slowness - Kakashi's attack was linear and straight-on, precisely the sort of attack most vulnerable to a Sharingan's precognition, and though Kakashi's figure filled most of his field of view, he was still able tos ee the massive fluctuations in Tenshi's monstrous chakra supply. It was for that reason that, as Kakashi feinted with the Raikiri....the wood clone leaped backwards, with Tenshi's elemental attacks heading right for him in mid-air. At this point, he held up the hand sign he had created earlier, causing the wood around him to twist, warp, and coalesce together. It formed a long, serpentine shape with the sound akin to falling timber, echoing in the void of the Kamui. A symbolic jutsu taht had no busiess being used by Obito, it was one designed shortly after the foundation of Iwagakure, which was built deep within an inhospitable den belonging to untamed and unclaimed dragons - Hashirama created it in honor of the brave individuals whom attempted to learn how to wield the natural energy and practice Sage Arts using the lessons of these wise and noble creatures. However, he believes the technique to be lacking a finishing touch which makes it poorly suited to fit as a representation of Iwagakure, stating it isn't as durable as he would like. It was a jutsu Obito found well-suited to dealing with incredibly fast opponents, as well as those who rely primarily on chakra for power, as well as the Bijū. The Mokuryū was a technique which allows the user to fashion a massive wooden golem, whose form is reminiscent of a Chinese dragon, though with a short trunk-like nose. It boasted a sleek and thin design, complete with large wings to provide flight abilities for travel. The dragon is hollow and forged of thin, lightweight wood in order to grant it incredible speed, though it commanded enough physical might to coil around opponents and restrain them, wielding sufficient power to hold down even the Kurama manifestations created by Naruto Uzumaki and Minato Namikaze. Most notably, the Mokuryū has the ability to drain chakra through physical contact, allowing it to sap chakra. Unlike most, however, Obito's dragon possessed the ability to exhale. Flames burst from the wooden dragon's mouth in defiance of Hashirama's own tactic, easily overwhelming Tenshi's own wind attack.....but in turn being pushed back by the water cascade, which would have no trouble slicing through the flames, and even the dragon itself, a weak flick of its tail able to toss the wood clone to safety, conveniently landing next to the 'real' Obito who was displaced into the world of Kamui, already forming hand seals of his own to deal with Yahiko, his left Sharingan eye glowing unusually bright, and then starting to grow dim, the wood clone standing by for the moment to protect him, even as Saiken shrieked his death throes in the real world, about to collapse under the constant Bijuudama from Yahiko..... (Extremely high power/cost for the wood call, Wood Dragon was Very High cost, and another one for the breath attack, which was a VH fire breath.) |
