![]() Hah. I don't think I'll ever get used to being outside Ishgard and Konoha on my own.... Setsuko smiled as she looked up at the morning sun, enjoying the warmth. It was a precious thing in the Land of Iron - a warm day, that is. The snow-laden nation seemed to be in a permanent state of winter. She had heard jokes that the four seasons of Iron were "cold, very cold, less cold, and extremely cold." She was on the return trip to Ishgard after her due time in Konoha had ended (for now), and while she did have a schedule to keep to, a single day's delay to enjoy a true, proper day of summer in the nation's capital should not be too offensive a dalliance. Setsuko had no particular urgency to her journey - Kain was in Iwagakure, Sankaku handling things in Konohagakure, Ishgard was under the hawk-like gaze of Eisenhart and Sascha as always, and even Owari was well in hand thanks to Awoi....to say nothing of where Fang, Achilles, Akela, and Renia found themselves at any given moment. She had always been the young gentle one of her clan, so they had rarely entrusted her with responsibility and rank...Setsuko's greatest concern was looking after a sacred armory more than leading a team or defending a wall. Which meant she could afford one vacation day. She stood up, pulling her long blonde hair back across her shoulder, so that the supremely long braid hung down her back. It served to cover the angelic formation of a red seal on her back, which was otherwise exposed by her backless top. She wore a reserved, muted tie and shorts along with sandals - her favorite casual outfit, one that Kain had rebuked her for on occasion.....but Yahiko seemed to like it, and that was reason enough to wear it, she thought. Double-checking her seals containing her armor and arms just in case, Setsuko decided against exiting her hotel like a layman - she simply opened her window and daintily leaped out of the frame, landing not on the street below....but the next block over. The bustling people hardly noticed her as the young Highwind woman landed on the balls of her feet, diffusing the impact harmlessly, and letting her feet roll down into a proper landing posture with her heels the last part of her to touch the ground. She had never actually explored the city before, and ever since the Asakura clan had occupied most of the country, she had never had the opportunity for sight-seeing.... "....so where to visit first then? Hmm, somewhere outdoors, to enjoy this weather...." |

It had been one of his many scheduled visits to the capital of the Land of Iron, as there was always something that required his presence; be it a stack of paperwork, a visit from a guest, overlooking the work of the people running the day to day tasks (That thankfully he did not have to see to atop everything else), checking the barracks and soldiers, settling disputes, there was always something he had to deal with. Except for that day. Nothing. There was absolutely nothing for him to do. Not a single piece of paperwork that could not be done by others, not a single guest or visitor. Nothing at all! Rather than waste the time spent travelling to the capital by just heading straight back to the fortress, Rei had decided to take his chance of this rare opportunity that had been presented to him. After all, he was scheduled to be at the capital for the day and was not expected back until the next day; with nothing to do, he may as well enjoy his free time and make use of the rare sunny weather (Sun! In the Land of Iron!), so he had left and began to wander through the streets. It had been quite the rare sight for the people in the city that day, to actually see the heir rather than simply travelling from task to task. Even rarer was for him to be without his signature long blue coat outside of a fight, or a sheathed sword at his side. Leaving him in just his usual attire of a black sleeveless vest and black trousers held up by a silver buckled belt, along with his tan finger-less gloves, tall brown boots with two golden buckled straps at the top, and around his neck a thin silver chain, with a small silver wing pendant hanging from it to complete his look . Overall it had been enjoyable….But there was a slight catch…. “....I am not lost.” He was lost already. And it had barely been five minutes since he had begun walking. “CAW!” And the raven escorting him certainly thought so too. “...Fine.” Sighing softly as he ran a hand through his short snow white hair, he offered no protest as the black feathered bird took up to the sky to get a better view and work out just where Rei’s pathing had taken them as he stared over the unrecognised street before them. It was something his clan had noted as well about the heir. While at first they had thought he had managed to escape his time from being deep within the Divide without any notable consequences, save for his already fair skin becoming a tinge paler, it had seemed that his sense of direction had become horribly warped, almost to the point of being lost completely; something that had come to light a week later when Rei had somehow ended up at the northern wall separating area Rose and area Sina rather than the eastern wall. Short distances were fine, but anything beyond perhaps the inside of a home or moving from one street to the next could end in disaster. If it weren’t for his ravens, the clan would have been reluctant to even let him outside of the fortress by himself! “Hmm?” It had been while he had been waiting for his escort to return that Rei had spotted it; that of a lone figure moving through the air some distance ahead of him. Samurai were prone to just sticking to the streets (but they could traverse the rooftops if needed) and while there were plenty of Asakura that were just as nimble as shinobi, they did so from rooftop to rooftop; this person on the other hand had not just leapt from a building they had done so across several streets and buildings in what appeared to have been a single bound. And had yet to land still. Highwind? It was the only explanation he could come to; they did not seem to be flying or manipulating themselves to move through the air in some manner, and only Highwind had that kind of raw leaping power (at least the type that wouldn’t completely destroy the terrain beneath them when they leapt!). Before he knew it, Rei was already moving. If he was right based on how they were coming down, they should have been landing in a street only one over from his current spot. All it took was to cut through an alleyway a short distance ahead of him to end up in said street, just in time to see her landing. By the time her heels touched the ground the heir of the Asakura clan was already stepping towards her; it would be difficult to miss with how the people on the street seemed to give the heir a wide berth as he moved without purposely doing so, as if they were avoiding being close to him on sheer instinct alone... “Highwind. What brings you to the capital today?” |

"Hmm?" Setsuko glanced over her shoulder, comically freezing mid-motion as she raised her hands, adjusting her hair. She cut what was surely a striking portrait; her top had no back to it, prominently displaying the winged seal on her back, and her lack of a bra was evident. With almost her entire bare back exposed by the garment, it was inevitable for the sides of her generous breasts to also be visible at such an angle, and if one were to cast their eyes downward to be modest, they would instead be confronted with the decent but still appetizing view of her hips and long legs in her dark, tight purple shorts. Her face turned slightly red at the predicament, looking back at the speaker who had called her out with an almost indignant glint in her eye, fiddling with the large braid in her blonde hair. ![]() She recognized the speaker immediately, at least. Though many Highwind who spent all their time in Ishgard might have failed to do so, Setsuko had spent an equal amount of time in the clan's ancestral home, and in their second home of Konohagakure. During the time in Konoha she had been tutored by an especially bright and talented young man - Yahiko Makaze. His teachings had certainly helped her to refine her combat strength and technique, but more than that he had helped her to mature as a person, to set aside insecurities and flaws to become not a stronger fighter, but a stronger person. In addition to guiding her into realizing morals and principles, Yahiko had educated Setsuko on a variety of subjects - history. People. Military tactics. Philosophy. Psychology. Folklore. Theory of right and wrong. Politics. Thanks to that, she knew the man behind her at only a glance; Rei Asakura was the heir apparent of the Asakura clan, and in the estimation of most, their greatest warrior. His was a storied and colorful past that had seen him reside in many nations of the shinobi world before his clan had gathered their people to live in the Land of Iron, and become a nation unto themselves. It was almost bothersome to run into him of all people, especially here...... "Asakura. My whim and desires are not beholden to you." If Setsuko was aware of Rei's overarching presence and immense spiritual presence, she did not show it - she had nothing of the same to compare or resist him with. But if one possessed the ability to measure the nature of such a presence, they would not find Setsuko wanting. She could be adequately described as the opposite of titans such as Rei, or Seijun Togiretogire, or their chakra-biased counterparts such as Yahiko Makaze or Madara Uchiha. She was not possessed of overbearing strength or domineering presence. If one were to describe Setsuo, she was one of sheer stubbornness. If a person were to make another comparison, most great warriors and scholars had spirits like the ocean, vast and deep, mighty and great - Setsuko was like a lighthouse, tall and unyielding against a storm, a beacon that could be seen from the darkest depths. Hers was a spirit of pure defiance and unyielding tenacity in the face of greater things, a strength drawn from an iron will and unshakable faith in something beyond herself. As she turned to face Rei, her blush faded and her tone softened - though her voice had been heavy like an iron club, her true nature was also still that of a pure and relaxed young girl, and her manners were as such, the young Highwind giving a polite bow with a bend of one knee, lifting the hem of her shirt in lieu of a skirt or dress, mimicking a curtsy. "Greetings to you, sir. My name is Setsuko. I apologize for my curtness. I hope this day finds you well." |
