Character Study

Yori was born into the Uzumaki clan, and she draws her stock as a descendant of an old family that had detached itself from the village and lived in the shadows quietly. Wishing to pursue a different path than that of her ancestors, she chose to join the shinobi world at large. Despite Yori's rare lineage, her skills were not judged as being particularly useful to the minor villages that she initially applied to due to their ignorance, and she was dismissed. Instead, she has employed her abilities to become a hunter of those that had been given a target designation in the Bingo Book, and serves as an assassin, information gatherer, watchdog, and enforcer for assorted private forces. She is also a member of the Burial Agency, a subdivision of the Holy Church - she is one of the few remaining active members of the Agency, and as a result is the top-ranked Inquisitor of the church.

"I am not the enemy. To be the enemy, I must have some personal stake in what happens to you. I'm not interested in that at all. I'm here to do a job, nothing more. I have no desire to inflict pain, but I will do so, when and as it is required."

Personality

Yori is a fairly serious, somewhat kind, and hardworking individual, who possesses a strong sense of justice, yet this sense of justice takes a backseat to practicality. She is very serious about her work, caring little else for anything other than completing it. While she attempts to show mercy, she will go all out on anyone who refuses to yield to her, even if they should be children. Even without money, she remains steadfast in working a temporary job and would resort to eating roadside grass if it were necessary. She has at times been known to resort to sleeping in a cardboard box on a bench, and simply mentions that Konoha's abundance of food, water, and mild climate make it suitable for having no worries over starvation or freezing to death.

She does not care that the shinobi nations at large are fighting, but feels involving those not connected to the struggle, especially children, is not deserving of respect as a shinobi at all. Yori can be short-tempered, yet still calculating. While she presents herself as a strong-willed and mature woman, in truth she is actually rather lonely. Her goal had been to go to Ishgard one day to save the Highwind from their eternal burden, especially for Sankaku Highwind. She has had a strong desire to save them since childhood. As a dispassionate and desolate child, Yori found herself immersed with the story of Cú Chulainn, finding herself grieving over such a tragedy that was his legend, at the same time, finding a purpose for herself. For this reason she considers him an idol, yet is well aware that he would despise her due to her profession and ethics.

Combat Data and Abilities
"Civilize the mind and make savage the body."

Yori Uzumaki is a specialist in physical combat and employs runic Fuuinjutsu on her limbs, hands, and feet to increase her fighting potential. She is considered equal or better than Minato Namikaze in Fuuinjutsu expertise and was able to fight Ryuuza Makaze off, and has clashed with the likes of Yokai, Kusaki Makaze, Kana Chiyemi, and Tsukiyo Senjin on her job. She is the current holder of the fabled Uzumaki superweapon, Fragarach. According to Tsukiyo, Yori's power as a kunoichi is easily three times that of her own, and she could have easily defeated both Tsukiyo and Kaguya Nanbu if she chose to attack at the time. While not an active participant in the Fourth Shinobi War, Yori has been brought into certain fights by clients and her own principles alike, and at one point even defeated Kumogakure's Killer Bee in a head-on fight prior to Kumogakure withdrawing from the war.

Great Physical Strength - Yori is extremely physically strong, casually tossing furniture with a single hand, causing great collateral damage from the force of her physical strikes, and easily uprooting large sections of the ground. She can match an entire squad of a village's shinobi with her bare hands due to her honed fighting skills, requiring little effort in taking out most of her enemies. She can destroy projected weaponry with ease, even easily catching Caladbolg and throwing it back during an encounter with an emulator of Ryuuza Makaze as well as the man himself, and deflect Ninjutsu casually with her fists.

Fuuinjutsu Master - Yori is a master of Uzumaki sealing jutsu, utilizing the ancient rites of her clan for almost all of her combat arsenal. Her gloves are imbued with runes to form a Rune of Armoring that gives toughness to them, and she can use them to enhance her strength, allowing her to smash through defensive Ninjutsu that is too strong for her regular strength. Her body is one capable of withstanding any attack, and she can be called a "berserker woman." When faced with nine major stab wounds, including two fatal wounds and one directly to the heart, she has a seal in place to activate her natural healing ability, capable of instantly restoring her body upon her heart stopping.

Jutsu and Abilities

Medical Jutsu

Name: Kagirinai Gōken (Eternal Health)
Rank: -
Type: Iryō Ninjutsu / Kinjutsu / Hiden
Direct Effects: The Kagirinai Gōken is the legendary healing ability available to all Uzumaki, and has proven instrumental in their continued survival throughout the ages. In its most basic form the technique is known as the 'Chiyu Shigai' and is described as the ability to stimulate latent healing abilities in the body to trigger a regenerative state to rejuvenate the body in response to injury and sickness, and advancing the art under proper tutelage is required to develop it into the proper Kagirinai Gōken. For this reason the technique is incredibly rare, even among the dwindling number of Uzumaki - only an Uzumaki knows the exact process used by the Kagirinai Gōken, as it differs greatly from traditional medical techniques. Karin Uzumaki, the most prominent wielder of the technique, claims it to be the first true medical art in the shinobi world, and is responsible for the development and proliferation of similar techniques throughout the Great Nations, with the Sōzō Saisei being based upon its formula and enabled to Tsunade through her Uzumaki genetics inherited through her grandmother, Mito Uzumaki.

When used in its most basic form the Kagirinai Gōken allows the body not to draw upon the natural regenerative abilities present in Uzumaki chakra, but instead to use the chakra to empower itself. This results in an effect which is far greater than the Chiyu Shigai, albeit at the expense of limiting the focus to injuries the user chooses to apply their chakra to - the Kagirinai Gōken is not an automatic process like the Chiyu Shigai, and for this reason demands the user consciously exert their chakra on the injury, though in exchange offers stunning regenerative speed. Uzumaki often train themselves to remain conscious through extreme injury and pain in order to use the Kagirinai Gōken in the heat of battle, which Karin Uzumaki famously displayed against Ryuuza Makaze by allowing herself to be impaled by several massive spears, only to immediately recover while attacking with the Kongō Fūsa. The speed and depth of Karin's regeneration in particular is astounding; the Kagirinai Gōken allows her to instantly recover from any injury while conscious, including the complete and immediate destruction of several major organs or lost limbs, for a single Extremely High cost, and can even repel foreign substances, chakra, and organisms.

The true strength of the Kagirinai Gōken is the ability to channel the empowered chakra into the body of another individual, even those not of the Uzumaki bloodline. This ability in particular is rare even among practitioners of the Kagirinai Gōken, causing Minori Chiyemi to quietly believe Karin Uzumaki to be the only individual capable of such an act in her generation, with her daughter taking her place in the following generation as well. This method requires the recipient sink their teeth into the flesh of the Uzumaki in order to draw the chakra into their body, at which point the powerful regenerative effect of the empowered medical chakra takes effect to immediately repair and restore the body, resulting in an almost-immediate return to perfect health - the speed and power of the healing ability is equivalent to the self-regenerative ability of the Uzumaki. Uniquely, the Kagirinai Gōken also restores the chakra of the recipient to an incredible degree, as shown when Karin Uzumaki used the technique on Sasuke Uchiha after the latter suffered severe injury against Renia Highwind. When using the Kagirinai Gōken on another individual Karin must pay an Insanely High cost, immediately restoring the body to a healthy state and restoring up to 50% of their chakra reserves. However, doing so immensely taxing on her body, and Karin claims doing so twice in a day is incredibly dangerous to her health.

Name: Chakura Kaibōtō (Chakra Dissection Blade; alternatively "Chakura no Mesu" - Chakra Scalpel)
Rank: A
Type: Ninjutsu
Direct Effects: A highly advanced medical Ninjutsu utilized by many medical ninja for surgery, though it is also a famous combat jutsu in the hands Kabuto Yakushi, Sakura Haruno, Cee Nii, and Seika Yozora in particular. This medical technique forms one's chakra into a small, sharp blade. This can then be used for highly accurate incisions necessary for surgeries and anatomical dissections. Unlike regular scalpels, the chakra scalpel can make cuts inside the body without actually creating an open wound, limiting the risks of an infection. The chakra scalpel can also be used offensively, although it requires great precision to be effective. Because of this requirement, using the chakra scalpel offensively is highly unusual. In heated combat, even the greatest medical-nin won't be able to exert the precision needed to make fatal cuts, but it can still effectively cut muscle tissues and tendons, rendering the target immobile. The scalpel is an immensely potent technique, being able to slice an opponent's ligaments or tendons, or score a fatal blow with only a touch, not even requiring a proper blow to deal damage - further, because of its nature, it bypasses the physical durability of targets because it does not cut the skin, making it impossible to defend against with sheer durability - however, it can still be defended against by chakra-based barriers and defenses. The blades can be formed the instant a strike is launched for a makeshift Nintaijutsu attack, or created and sustained for pitched combat - the length of the blades varies, with Kabuto Yakushi preferring to keep his scalpels short and just past the length of his fingertips, while Cee Nii has shown a tendency to create longer, visible blades that are comparable to a sword in length.
Side Effects: Extremely skilled users are able to channel their elemental affinity into the blade - this doesn't affect the power in most cases, though some medical ninja have customized variations that are techniques unto themselves that can offer other, supplementary effects. More commonly however, the medical ninja are capable of "jettisoning" the chakra scalpel into a slicing wave of chakra that carves a trench into the ground, slicing an opponent in two like a blade - in this particular instance the chakra is fully visible (unlike the normal scalpel) and can be resisted as any other attack. The scalpels are fully capable of interacting with other materials such as wood, earth, rock, metal, and even flames or water.

Name: Meimyaku no Jutsu (Thread of Life Technique)
Rank: -
Type: Iryō Ninjutsu
Direct Effects: The Meimyaku no Jutsu is an exceedingly rare medicinal ability which allows the user to convert their chakra into restorative energy capable of repairing the body and alleviating exhaustion. Those capable of drawing upon the technique compare it to the more common Shōsen Jutsu, and often describe it as a natural evolution of the technique; the Meimyaku no Jutsu is not an ability which is taught, but rather one which is discovered, requiring an abundance of knowledge, capability, experience, and creativity to realize, often in the heat of the moment when faced with wounds beyond their prior ability to repair. It is often described as a miracle unto itself, as the Meimyaku is one which is realized and drawn upon in moments of utter desperation, when the user is faced with complete failure and the loss of a life, be it their own or that of a comrade, granting capability far beyond their prior limits to ensure the survival of themselves and their allies. Those rare few individuals which have advanced to the level of and managed to acquire the Meimyaku no Jutsu are universally held in high regard among their peers in the field of medicine, and are often spoken of as 'healers' due to the potency of their medicinal chakra compared to the more common 'combat medic'.

Functionally, the Meimyaku no Jutsu is believed to draw upon latent medicinal properties possessed by all chakra. In this regard the technique can be compared to the Kagirinai Gōken technique possessed by the Uzumaki, which uses the naturally potent restorative powers present in Uzumaki chakra to return the chosen body to a state of perfect health. While not quite as powerful on average, the Meimyaku no Jutsu allows users to strengthen their chakra to treat injuries in a similar method by strengthening the restorative properties of their chakra prior to placing it within the target body; this effect is used to both jumpstart the natural healing process of the human body and fuel it, as well as transmute the chakra into flesh and blood proper to regenerate injuries outright. The duality of this approach allows the user to streamline the healing process by dedicating smaller amounts of chakra to processes the body can natural complete swiftly while focusing their focus and the majority of chakra on aspects the body cannot easily perform or is otherwise incapable of performing; when dealing with puncture wounds, for instance, the user would rely on their chakra to immediately restore damage to internal organs necessary for short-term survival, while allowing the body to naturally repair damage to the skin and muscles. Unlike the Shōsen Jutsu, which requires the user have knowledge on how to properly treat specific damage to the body, the Meimyaku instead bypasses this necessity by allowing the unique restorative power of chakra to perform the task itself - in this regard more knowledgeable healers can dramatically decrease the time required for full recovery, while less informed healers retain the ability to repair the body regardless of the damage dealt, albeit at a slower pace. The Meimyaku no Jutsu creates a regenerative effect on the body which allows them to restore it from nearly any and every form of injury, such as repairing internal damage and restoring lost limbs, healing superficial damage such as burns or cuts, mending broken bones, and even expelling foreign substances such as poisons or otherwise unnatural presences - the amount of chakra required is equivalent to the severity of damage dealt to the body, with organ damage requiring a High drain, restoring or repairing lost limbs requiring a Very High drain, and most other wounds requiring Low to Medium drains.

Offensive Fuuinjutsu

Name: Kasei Yakusai (Force of Flames Calamity)
Rank: S
Type: Nintaijutsu, Fuuinjutsu
Direct Effects: The Ksaei Yakusai is Yori Uzumaki's single most powerful attack and her most iconic finishing blow; used primarily as an assassination technique, it is believed to be a forbidden Uzumaki technique by Killer Bee, but Amaigetsu Houzuki-Raikou speculates that it could also be a technique Yori created herself - another likely idea is that it is a customized version of a long-lost Uzumaki art that Yori has adjusted to suit her own needs. Ultimately the origin of the technique matters little; it has already established a reputation as a brutal ability capable of decimating even a shinobi as powerful as Killer Bee with a direct hit, and it was also able to break even with Yokai's Sorakigaeshi, demonstrating its effectiveness. According to Yori, she dislikes employing the technique because she finds it to be unsettling for an assassin to have to resort to such a technique, and sees its necessity as a sign of her ineptitude on the job - if her work were done properly, such a technique would not be needed or the situation in which it was called for would never have been developed at all. Yori is known to have used it three times since she began taking contracts in the Fourth Shinobi War - she used it as a punch to defeat Killer Bee, a diving kick in attempt to kill Ryuuza Makaze (foiled by his Rho Aias), and as a standing kick to clash with Yokai's Sorakigaeshi.

The technique can be performed with any of the four limbs, but it requires a brief moment to prepare, in which the user channels their chakra into special seals on the back of either hand or the heel of either foot; the seal formula starts at either the palm or heel, wraps around the hand or foot, and flows up the arm or leg to terminate at the elbow or knee, seemingly tracing the veins that overlap with the user's chakra system. When the chakra is gathered, the selected limb will noticeably began to glow and smoke, turning white-hot as flames lick up from the user's limbs. The blow itself consists of a scorching strike with the hand or foot that is capable of punching clean through a human being, though Yori states that she could plow through an entire building with it if she had to - the technique's sheer explosive power is such that it creates a backdraft over Yori that shields her in clashes with other techniques, and she was able to use the punch form to clash with Killer Bee's Bijuudama outright, withstanding the explosion with minimal damage by using her chakra to create the backdraft and bend the force away from her. It has been compared in some respects to the Raikiri, but like the Sorakigaeshi its power is in another league, causing Ryuuza Makaze to compare it to Shinrai Raikou's Yaban Chidori instead.
Side Effects: Similar to the Rasen Shuriken and Yaban Chidori, the Kasei Yakusai deals immense burning damage which cannot be healed by standard techniques, it has been proven that specialized and especially skilled medical shinobi, as well as specific healing abilities, can repair the damage it causes - Yokai was noted to struggle mightily to regenerate it from it as her healing is only on par with the Shousen no Jutsu, and Sakura Haruno had to use her unique chakra virus to heal Ryuuza Makaze's injuries as well.

Name: Makyō no Chie (Wisdom of the Haunted Ground)
Rank: S
Type: Fuuinjutsu
Direct Effects: The Makyō no Chiei is a hyper-advanced Fuuinjutsu passed down through the Uzumaki clan; it was thought lost when the clan's village was brought to ruin, and the survivors scattered across the globe. Sascha's family line managed to preserve the technique, and she has become somewhat famous for her use of the technique. It is founded upon the most ancient principles of the Uzumaki's seals, which were so fearsome that entire nations feared the simple little village. The Makyō no Chie uses different characters than those found in modern Fuuinjutsu, and instead uses simpler characters that Sascha prefers to refer to as runes. The runes are symbols that, once inscribed, automatically realize mysteries accordingly with the meaning that they represent. Composed of only straight lines and possessing mechanics that emulate traditional Ninjutsu rather than Fuuinjutsu, the Makyō no Chie is considered to be classified as "combat Fuuinjutsu" that is meant to be used on one's self rather than others, though it is possible to use its principles to afflict opponents as well. The most evident difference is that normal Fuuinjutsu are utilized to create effects by being placed upon a target, but the Makyō no Chie is more like an advanced version of the Fuuinjutsu used by Minato Namikaze, Kushina Uzumaki, and Kurohime to assist in the molding of their elemental chakra.

Sascha states that the Makyō no Chie is the type of thaumaturgy involving transferring energy into seals placed on the user's knuckles, palms, shoulders, feet, and other assorted areas of the body, to use in a fashion very loosely akin to traditional storage seals. It is said that they are able to act as "prisons that stop flow", easily accumulating and storing the thoughts of their owners. The seals are fabled to be composed of characters from the world's first language, and have an intrinsic link to the spirits of nature, and have been stained with their power, allowing them to act as a simplified type of Ninjutsu when filled with energy. Once inscribed, chakra may be embedded into the seals, causing them to glow with a stark, warm purple light that the Ishgardian dragon Nidhogg calls "unsettling." From that point, the user can then use that power whenever and in whatever way they find necessary. Within a few limits, is possible to modify the properties of a seal so it can be used for different purposes, but as a consequence its efficiency will not be optimal, and Sascha's variation, in order to bring all possible seals together, is noted to have a weaker output than if she were to spend time devising each seal to a stand-alone purpose rather than using select seals for all purposes. Despite this, depending of the amount of chakra channeled into the seals, it is possible to cast a high-level 'jutsu' instantly. In Yori's case, her Makyou no Chie is split up into many different sub techniques and her education of the seals is greater than Sascha's, allowing her to carry them all.

Concretely, the technique was inspired by the Ryuusouken of the human dragons themselves, and Sascha claims she can "grasp anything" with it. In its most rudimentary usage, the user is able to take hold of the air that is in contact with her body, releasing hollow "booms" whenever she strikes something, delivering thundering blows of up to Very High power for an equal chakra cost. She is able to use this power defensively, and her seal is capable of completely canceling out all forces in opposition to it - this allows Sascha to, seemingly in nonchalant fashion, stop the head-on charge of a Gravity Dragon with only her palm, provided the chakra she supplies is sufficient and creates a boom of equal power; this display is what prompts Eisenhart to label her "the most terrifying woman to ever step foot on a battlefield," due to her habit of handily deflecting the blows of dragons with the back of her hand. Unlike Sascha, Yori is not able to affect the elemental forces with her general seals, and is instead able to use the seals to emit her chakra in a variety of ways, often releasing beams from her fingertips or hand; by making a particular swipe or gesture she is able to shape the discharge, which can be utilized for concussive, slashing or piercing attacks as she requires. She is capable of emitting the beams as walls or as a shroud for self-defense from any point of her body due to the more advanced array of seals around her, and as a result of this her seals are stated to be even more powerful than Sascha's own.
Side Effects: The runes can be utilized to "cross out" modern Fuuinjutsu, allowing Yori dispel and undo even the most complicated of seals by paying a chakra cost double to the seal's casting cost.

Name: Makyō no Hisaki (Flames of the Haunted Ground)
Rank: A
Type: Ninjutsu / Fuuinjutsu
Direct Effects: A sub-technique of the Makyō no Chie. It is a Fuuinjutsu that is placed on the user's fingertips and the top of their feet, allowing for them to utilize a Katon affinity to activate them. It is an automated technique that requires the user's chakra be of the appropriate element, and upon activation the seal takes the offered chakra and utilizes it in order to cause reactions in the air that suit the bearer's needs. The seals function by taking friction in the air, igniting the air that passes over the user's fingertips and feet to create flame, and then the user's chakra is utilized to manipulate these flames. This is very similar to the Fuuinjutsu utilized by Minato Namikaze in that it allows the user to focus on shape manipulation, as the Hisaki will automatically adjust any chakra fed to it into Katon. However, Minato's seals are used to create flame directly from the supplied chakra; the Hisaki is utilized to create additional flame from the environmental components of oxygen and friction, and as a result it carries the same benefits as techniques created through inhalation, such as the Uchiha's Katon, and consciously emitted chakra, such as the Ryuujin Jakka of Kin Tsuchi - namely, vastly increased scale and versatility in terms of emission, though the exact effects and powers can vary based on the complexity of one's seals and the individual Uzumaki's talent with flames. The Hisaki is considered to be a staple of Uzumaki who wish to pursue an affinity with flame since it dispenses with the need for handseals and can afford even standard users with the expertise required for Nintaijutsu as well as ranged abilities, and for skilled users may even facilitate supplementary uses such as creating steam or fog.

When utilized by Yori Uzumaki, she demonstrates casting abilities generally identified and affiliated as trademarks of elite Katon users; she is capable of unleashing waves of flame with a wave of her hand that are up to fifteen meters in scale, though she prefers to use more precise attacks by releasing bullet-esque projectiles from her fingertips. Yori is noted to have a strong preference utilizing her flames as her primary ranged attack, often assaulting an opponent with a bombardment of explosive flame blasts, but the Hisaki is equally useful in close-range combat; she is able to emit the flames in the shape of swords, lances, axes and other weapons, as well as create claws and blades. The flames are emitted from the tops of her feet as well as her fingertips, and flow in the direction her chakra requires, allowing her to create a defensive armor shroud from beneath herself and work its way up to her, and she can route flame chakra through any surface she is standing on or touching up to fifteen meters away, creating fiery explosions beneath her targets. The most common close-range method is that of fiery punches, in contrast to the lightning-enhanced kicks that Yori also favors. Yori often surrounds an opponent by catching them in an urban area, and is somewhat infamous for unleashing three blades of flame that cut down multiple buildings, trapping her target in a makeshift arena with herself.
Side Effects: Yori has demonstrated sufficient precision that she can utilize the heat generated from her seals to affect the water vapor around her; this allows her to create a heat mirage blur around herself as well as shroud an area in fog and steam vapor similar to the Hidden Mist. The former weakens the effect of visual precognition for a Medium chakra drain, while the latter will obscure the sight of her enemies for a Low Drain, though it is only partially effective against most doujutsu since it does not hide or obscure chakra; therefore, most doujutsu lose the ability to track and predict her movements at a distance, but can still identify her location by seeing her chakra through the fog.

Name: Makyō no Tsuchi (Earth of the Haunted Grounds)
Rank: A
Type: Ninjutsu / Fuuinjutsu
Direct Effects: A sub-technique of the Makyō no Chie. It is a Fuuinjutsu that is placed on the user's palms and the heels of their feet, allowing for them to utilize a Doton affinity to activate them. It is an automated technique that requires the user's chakra be of the appropriate element, and upon activation the seal takes the offered chakra and utilizes it in order to cause reactions in the ground that suit the bearer's needs. The seals function by taking hold of the earth at their feet, exerting a natural dominion upon the earth that slides under the user's hands and feet to draw in a greater concentration of earth from beneath the surface, and then the user's chakra is utilized to manipulate the excess earth. This is very similar to the Fuuinjutsu utilized by Minato Namikaze in that it allows the user to focus on shape manipulation, as the Tsuchi will automatically adjust any chakra fed to it into a Doton nature. However, Minato's seals are used to create flame or wind directly from the supplied chakra; the Tsuchi is utilized to create additional soil from the environmental components of rock and dirt, and as a result it carries the same benefits as other techniques that naturally manipulate the earth beneath the user's feet, such as Kirigakure's Kihaku no Tsuchi or the Earthen Fortress technique of the Makaze clan - namely, vastly increased scale and versatility in terms of emission, though the exact effects and powers can vary based on the complexity of one's seals and the individual Uzumaki's talent with earth. The Tsuchi is more rarely used than its elemental siblings due to its need for violent, powerful motions to accompany the Doton attacks, which run contrary to most Uzumaki sealing masters' temperaments. However, like its counterparts, the Tsuchi dispenses with the need for handseals and can afford even standard users with the expertise required for Nintaijutsu as well as ranged abilities, and for skilled users may even facilitate supplementary uses such as creating loose soil or dust.

The Makyou no Tsuchi is Yori Uzumaki's personal favorite of the techniques available to her, and many have a hard time distinguishing its effects from her natural strength due to how seamlessly she blends it with her Taijutsu, as well as her impressive expertise with earth chakra in general. Like with the Hisaki her overall range is fifteen meters, and though it is rare for her to use the Tsuchi as a ranged attack, she is able to strike opponents with wide waves of rock and earth simply by sweeping her foot at them, though it is more common for Yori to punch the ground and propel the wave towards a target that way. With only a simple stomp attack, she can cause the earth around her to spike up or cave in as she requires, easily shaping the rock beneath her feet into spikes or bladed formations to impale a target, though concussive attacks are by far her favorite. Alternately, the earth can be parted and turned to silt, momentarily undoing an opponent's footing as if they fell into a sand pit, and she may even raise up dust and dirt to attack an opponent with as well. The earth at her feet may be molded into weapon shapes that she can wield in her hand (requiring no drain to sustain due to their composition as rocks), or she can hurl them immediately as projectiles. Her personal signature usage is using the debris kicked up by the attacks (or bodies) of herself and her opponent and manipulating the pebbles and rocks to create a storm of lethal attacks.
Side Effects: Yori is uncommonly skilled at the Makyou no Tsuchi, to the point that she, contrary to the norm, does not require any motions to activate it. She can seamlessly flow and sink through the earth as if using Hiding Like A Mole for a Low Drain, and for a Low Drain she is able to monitor the earth around her within fifteen meters, immediately aware of anything standing on it similar to Gaara's contact-sensing method. She is able to root herself to the earth, "borrowing strength" from it so that she cannot be knocked down or back by any amount of force for a Moderate drain, though it's important to note that this does not reduce damage in any way. For a Low drain, she can rip the earth out of the ground as a five meter wide platform to ride and fly on, moving at a rate equal to her base movement speed, increasing this speed by 50% per tier up to Very High. She is uniquely able to harden and expand the trace minerals in her body to further boost her base durability for an extra 50% per tier, from Moderate up to Very High, and may do the same for her physical strength as well by reinforcing her muscles with trace elements and her chakra.

Name: Makyō no Ten (Heaven/Sky of the Haunted Ground)
Rank: A
Type: Ninjutsu / Fuuinjutsu
Direct Effects: A sub-technique of the Makyō no Chie. It is a Fuuinjutsu that is placed on the back of the user's hands and the balls of their feet, allowing for them to utilize a Raiton affinity to activate them. It is an automated technique that requires the user's chakra be of the appropriate element, and upon activation the seal takes the offered chakra and utilizes it in order to cause reactions in the air that suit the bearer's needs. The seals function by discharging Raiton chakra into the air that interacts with the static energy of the appropriate polarity, increasing the amount of electricity readily available to draw from while also supplementing it with the user's own bioelectricity, and then the user's chakra is utilized to manipulate the excess electricity. This is very similar to the Fuuinjutsu utilized by Minato Namikaze in that it allows the user to focus on shape manipulation, as the Ten will automatically adjust any chakra fed to it into a Raiton nature. However, Minato's seals are used to create flame or wind directly from the supplied chakra; the Ten is utilized to create additional electrical energy from the environmental components of static and electrically charged molecules, and as a result it carries the same benefits as other techniques that naturally manipulate the user's bioelectricity or static energy in the air such as the powers of Kirigakure's Raikou clan - namely, vastly increased scale and versatility in terms of emission, though the exact effects and powers can vary based on the complexity of one's seals and the individual Uzumaki's talent with lightning. The Ten is easily performed and does not require any motion for most users since it relies on the manipulation of energy and chakra, though some users tend to make particular motions that suit their personalities or training style. However, like its counterparts, the Ten dispenses with the need for handseals and can afford even standard users with the expertise required for Nintaijutsu as well as ranged abilities, and for skilled users may even facilitate supplementary uses such as manipulating magnetic fields.

Yori Uzumaki's Makyou no Ten is quite standard, however, as Raiton is her tertiary affinity and she is not overly skilled with it. Unlike her other techniques, the Ten only has a ten meter range limit for Yori and has no supplementary uses beyond the manipulation of Raiton. She is able to unleash attacks of the Raiton element from her hands and feet, commonly preferring a generic beam about the width of her hand, though she can strike with wider scale attacks of up to ten meters. The lightning can be emitted through the ground in a fashion not unlike Sasuke Uchiha's Chidori Nagashi, and can even be triggered on targets that Yori has grasped or stepped on to shock them further. The Raiton can be molded into weapon shapes and held in her hands for melee combat as well, though Yori prefers to use her Raiton to create projectile attacks or for defense, utilizing her Doton for close range attacks and Katon for long range attacks.

Supplementary Fuuinjutsu

Name: Makyō no Isogi (Haste of the Haunted Ground)
Rank: A
Type: Ninjutsu
Direct Effects: A Fuuinjutsu movement technique of the Uzumaki clan, devised from the Makyō no Chie's principles. It utilizes seals placed on the bottom of the user's feet to affect their motion, as the seal calibrates their chakra when it is channeled to the feet. To perform the technique after the seals are prepared, the user need only perform as if they were performing the Shunshin no Jutsu. This tactic allowed for the Uzumaki clan to induce states of high-speed movement through Fuuinjutsu, which is otherwise almost completely unheard of. Such movements are accompanied by the flickering of a green luminescence, which is the preliminary for each high-speed movement similar to the shock waves produced by techniques such as Shundo or the whirling of leaves or other medium performed by traditional Shunshin users. The seal modifies the chakra of the user so that it affects the ground at their feet, essentially pooling the chakra between the foot and earth, and then blasting them forwards. This process is replicated in the air with either the feet or hands, allowing for the Isogi to be utilized to boost attacking speed as well as movement speed. The chakra emitted from the seals can grasp anything, and users can casually stand upside down in mid-air for a low drain, and suffer no loss of speed or agility if the technique is performed underwater or in the air, even being unaffected by gravity insofar as starting or performing the technique; gravity shifted downwards will cause them to bend in their path unless the user in question is strong enough to resist it. They receive a 150% boost to their speed per tier up to Very High, with an 800% boost at Extremely High, though this necessitates a two second charge time. When preparing the technique, a user's seals glow a bright color dependent on their chakra.

Name: Makyō no Chikara (Power of the Haunted Ground)
Rank: A
Type: Fuuinjutsu
Direct Effects: An advanced Fuuinjutsu of the Uzumaki clan that is a sub-technique of their Makyou discipline. It is believed to have been the inspiration for the Kenkage Chikara utilized by Sankaku Highwind, though it is noted to be a great deal stronger. In order to used, the user must prepare beforehand in a ritual by placing seals that function like artificial chakra gates, designed to emulate the effects of the Eight Inner Gates but on a far more manageable level. The seals are placed on the underside of the bearer's arms, their biceps, the base of their neck, left and right ribs, back of the thighs and calves, the left and right side of their lower back on either side of the spine with another seal in the center of the spine and back, and one final seal over their heart. These seals are used to control the flow of chakra by speeding up and slowing it down as needed, and imbuing the chakra with particular effects depending on the order of the seals' activation; all of the user is responsible for is the sheer amount of chakra supplied and the order the seals are triggered, and the Chikara system will produce the corresponding physical benefits. The bearers are able to boost their physical strength, moving speed, attacking speed, reflexes, or durability by 50%, 100%, 150%, 200%, 300% and 400% at Low to Extremely High chakra drains, and can boost multiple stats (or all of them) simultaneously at the same or varying outputs so long as they are willing to pay a drain per stat to do so.

Name: Makyō no Chuu (Space of the Haunted Ground)
Rank: B
Type: Ninjutsu / Fuuinjutsu
Direct Effects: Another technique derived from the Makyou arts, this one takes the form of a seal placed at the base of the user's skull. When triggered, this seal momentarily boosts the user's senses in minute but highly calibrated ways - it is not a "sensory amplification" technique in the sense that it does not imbue a person with exaggerated senses of sight, sound or smell, but it does improve the quality of one's senses to increase their threat detection abilities. When the seal is activated, the user's eyes are enhanced to a very high level so that they are able to physically predict the movements of individuals within their sight similar to the Mukansa technique. The sense of hearing and smell are enhanced sufficiently to allow the user to detect the breathing and scent of an individual within twenty meters of themselves even in the midst of intense combat, though none of the boosted senses are sufficiently increased to make the user (more) vulnerable to attacks that target the senses, such as flashbangs; at most, they are slightly more resistant to illusions by having a better chance of picking out flaws or imperfections in Genjutsu. Most notably however is the increase of the body's natural sixth sense to make it more sensitive to chakra; attacks which come within ten meters of the bearer are studied and analyzed so that they may determine the chakra placed within the technique as well as its elemental nature; even attacks that do not consist of chakra will at least trip the barrier, alerting the user of the Chuu that they are being attacked, provided the seal was activated in the first place.

Name: Keison Fuuin (Message Seal)
Rank: S
Type: Ninjutsu / Fuuinjutsu
Direct Effects: The Keison Fuuin is a highly advanced variation of the rare Transcription seals utilized by Itachi and Madara Uchiha. It is a creation of Yori Uzumaki's own design, and it is considerably more versatile than the Uchiha counterpart, which Yori states was originally derived from Uzumaki teachings anyway; in her account, the transcription seal method was a little known, primitive tactic of the Uzumaki clan that Madara Uchih appropriated and devised, allowing one to seal doujutsu techniques into the doujutsu of one's self or someone else with the same doujutsu - most famously done with Izanagi, to overwrite Madara's demise at the hands of Hashirama Senju, and with Amaterasu, in an effort by Itachi Uchiha to assassinate Obito Uchiha after his death. The concept of sealing jutsu was adapted and modified by Konohagakure's Black Witch Kurohime, but the Keison Fuuin that Yori uses is neither her adaption nor the original technique; rather, it is an improvement of the original technique that has more in common with the Uchiha's "amateur" counterpart in purpose, but with much greater function. It is considered her secret weapon, and she jealously guards it even from her fellow clan members, as rare as it is for her to encounter them.

The Keison Fuuin prepares a technique in her arsenal ahead of time within an assortment of invisible seals on her body, and in order to use the said sealed techniques, certain terms and conditions must be met. For each technique, there are different terms and conditions that may be applied. Each technique's criteria appears to be unique, though it is a universal rule that all sealed techniques may only be performed once - after doing so, the seal is destroyed, and the creation of a new seal is a fifteen minute process, preventing Yori from re-sealing and re-preparing techniques in combat. The actual criteria can be anything she imagines but also must be specific enough to apply to an apparent situation - a general criteria will cause a seal to malfunction, and the seal will not activate. For example, she is not capable of selecting the criteria of "Activate when my breathing stops," as such an event could happen just from her holding her breath or her breath catching from surprise, as well as being strangled or smothered. However, the criteria of "activate when my heart stops" is specific enough to be a functioning rule of activation. The seals are placed either on her own body, in an item, or in the body of another person, and the chakra cost is involuntarily paid to release the seal (as well as to place it in the first place), equal to the cost of casting the technique itself. Her current list of seals include:

-Kagirinai Gōken (Set to activate when her heart stops, essentially giving her a second life if she is wounded before activating the technique. If the technique was activated prior to her heart stopping, this seal will not activate)
-Makyō no Chikara (Set to activate in the form a 200% boost to her reflexes whenever her eyes register the sight of an exposed blade, as a defense against an ambush or speed blitz attack from enemy swordsmen)
-Makyō no Chie (Set to activate whenever she registers the sound of a weapon being drawn, immediately erecting a Very High defensive barrier, which she may sustain for a drain; it is a defense against ambush attacks that she doesn't see coming)
-Makyō no Tsuchi (Set to activate whenever one of her leg bones is broken, paying a Low cost to erect a pillar beneath her to lift her into the air and allow her to fly to safety or evaluate the situation at hand)
Side Effects: Yori has noted that the Kagirinai Gouken is rarely sealed in other individuals, as doing so prevents her from using the technique for herself or others for a full day, and the chakra cost is taken from their own chakra pool rather than hers - she had sealed the technique into a young businesswoman she was in charge of protecting, and the technique's mere activation was so chakra intensive that the businesswoman's safeguard almost failed to activate, and as a result Yori will usually refuse to consider it without ample reason and prediction of semi-immediate use by a target of sufficient chakra supply.

Name:  Kannagara-no-Michi (The Way Which Accords to the Gods)
Rank: S
Type: Hiden / Fuuinjutsu
Direct Effects: The Kannagara no Michi, often shortened to simply "Kannagara," is an extremely advanced and powerful Fuuinjutsu once utilized by the Uzumaki clan; it was believed that in concert with the Renkinjutsu, the Land of Whirlpools was an impregnable nation. It is the single most powerful and arcane technique in the possession of both Eileen Belserion as well as Konohagakure's Kurohime. When the enemies of the Uzumaki clan banded together and destroyed Uzshiogakure, this technique's writings were destroyed, but its teachings survived in oral fashion, and after having the technique's properties relayed to him, Minato Namikaze recorded them in his own journals. After Minato's death, Kurohime would come into the possession of the writings, and would be the first person since the destruction of the Uzumaki village to be able to recreate the technique, a feat that even other Uzumaki such as Kushina and Mito were not capable of. Upon defecting from Konohagakure, Rikona Aburame destroyed the journals at Eileen Belserion's request; Eileen had also discovered the technique from encountering Yori Uzumaki and obtaining the method from her in a similar fashion - it was previously unknown if Yori possessed the technical abilities to employ the Kannagara, but she has already been known to possess knowledge of it in some form, as does  Kurohime's apprentice Keiru Makaze. The Kannagara no Michi is singlehandedly credited with Kurohime's title as of the Black Witch, and Eileen Belserion credits it with her own success in the Third Shinobi War, in which she earned the titles of "Scarlet Despair" and "Scarlet Angel."

The premise of the Fuuinjutsu is very similar to tactics employed by the serpents of the Ryuchi Cavern, and it is believed to be evidence of a long-lost relationship between the Uzumaki clan and the Yamanaka clan. The Yamanaka clan's Shintenshin no Jutsu is noted for the obscure talent of using chakra to guide and manipulate own's very soul, and to insert it into the bodies of others to allow for momentary possession of other individuals. The designation of the Kannagara no Michi is the action of binding one's spiritual energy to a seal, which is then placed on an object such as a weapon or part of the environment. The presence of one's spiritual energy allows for a person to utilize their chakra through the seals, drawing upon the spiritual energy to manipulate the environment in contact with the seals. The spiritual energy forms an anchor point, and by inserting one's spirit into the sealed target, it becomes considerably more amiable to manipulation by the user's chakra. This has been referred to as an "atmosphere enchantment," as the wielder can take the environment and turn it against their opponent by placing seals on an area. The seals themselves serve not to allow direct manipulation of the environment, but are instead conduits through which one's jutsu may be utilized; thus, a seal placed on the earth allows the caster to utilize earthen jutsu through seals and manipulate the earth in the fashion of their usual Doton techniques. As a result, this Fuuinjutsu is especially powerful when utilized to defend an area; Yori has estimated that she can prepare the seal layout of a twenty square meter area in about five minutes, but she has noted that she has spent most of her free time erecting a square mile domain around every Church Abbey to better protect her organizations' interests.

The range and control of seals varies on an individual basis; like Eileen and Kurohime, Yori possesses the ability to utilize her  jutsu up to ten meters away from a given seal, and may access any seals within ten miles of themselves. In addition the seals may be used to create a "sensory network," serving to detect the presence, volume, and type of chakra - the network has been compared to a spiderweb or tripwire system, and due to any targets being within the chakra field already, jamming methods or ways to hide chakra are all but useless - this requires a Moderate drain, and only seals linked to one another may be used. Individual seals however can be utilized to fire off jutsu from the seals like turrets; seals are commonly applied to the Black Keys by Yori in particular, allowing her to unleash even intricate jutsu without using hand seals. Eileen has also demonstrated it is possible to activate multiple jutsu from multiple seals, utilizing the seals beneath the sands of Hueco Mundo to impale her victims on rock spires, which in turn possessed additional seals that allowed her to ignite her impaled foes, while also firing wind storms at those who had dodged the initial impalement.
Side Effects:  The seals are difficult to remove as well as apply, requiring a 4.5 in Fuuinjutsu in both respects, and some five minutes to prepare a single seal. Yori has seals at each Church Abbey and in select areas of Yukigakure at the request of the Sereki. She commonly places these seals on the bodies of Etsuko and Hiroshi to protect them as well. However, they may not be applied to indestructible surfaces, weapons or items, due to the seal inherently interfering with the durability of a target by removing some of its "essence" to make room for the user's soul. The seals may be destroyed by a Medium power output.

Name: Kongō Fūsa (Adamantine Sealing Chains)
Rank: S
Type: Ninjutsu / Fūinjutsu
Direct Effects: Believed by many to be the most potent sealing technique available to the Uzumaki, the Kongō Fūsa was once viewed as a technique which had been lost to time with the untimely death of Kushina Uzumaki, whom many thought was the last of her clan. This belief was solidified with the unusual rarity of the technique itself, as it was not displayed by many Uzumaki despite their overall proficiency with Fūinjutsu and unusually powerful chakra, which many believed was the result of a genetic requirement not possessed by the entirety of the clan - thus any Uzumaki discovered after her death was likely to not possess this genetic trait, while her son Naruto, who logically would, was left without an individual to instruct him in the art. In truth, the Kongō Fūsa was not lost to time, as an Uzumaki with both the genetic trait and training in the ability existed in Otogakure, though her talent was unknown to Orochimaru - Karin Uzumaki, who would later become a member of Akatsuki before joining Kirigakure's ANBU, and whom would pass the ability on to her daughter. Curiously enough, Karin refrained from using the Kongō Fūsa for many years, until being forced to do so during the Kiri-Konoha War against Minato Namikaze.

The Kongō Fūsa is an advanced Ninjutsu and Fūinjutsu fusion technique which allows the user to rapidly generate thick chains with their chakra, which they can then eject out of their body and manipulate freely for purposes of attack, defense, and supplementary uses. These chains are directed by the will of the user, allowing them to twist and turn through the air as they please in order to assault targets, erect defenses, ensnare opponents, haul allies away, or act as a grappling system to pull the user across the battlefield. Due to being composed of chakra they are as sturdy as the user desires, and can strike for power equivalent to the amount of chakra paid, up-to-Very High in both cases, while also allowing the wielder to crush or pull targets with incredible strength should they become wrapped in the chains, requiring an up-to-Very High drain to hold a target down with similar strength, regardless of size. Kushina is capable of fashioning the chains into various shapes before erecting barriers between the links via Fuuinjutsu, allowing her to fashion makeshift weapons for slicing or blunt strikes, as well as forge defenses rapidly to shield herself and allies - Kushina is notably capable of creating immense defensive barriers in this fashion, allowing her to protect entire cities with the Kongō Fūsa, though this method requires an Extremely High cost and one-tier lower drain to create and maintain, and possesses an equivalent defensive power. Kushina's barriers are extremely potent, requiring advanced mastery of Fuuinjutsu to unravel or otherwise dismiss, with Kushina speculating that only a Kikaki's eye, someone trained in Uzumaki sealing arts, or someone of equivalent master and understanding would be able to deconstruct her barriers through sheer skill. Karin Uzumaki, while capable of creating similarly powerful barriers, cannot do so with such grand scale, and is instead limited to only twenty meters.

Name: Kyōkō Kishitsu (Unyielding Spirit)
Rank: -
Type: Supplementary
Direct Effects: The Kyōkō Kishitsu is more an aspect of an individual than a proper technique. It is more appropriately described as a trait belonging to those of indomitable willpower, to those capable of enduring grievous injury without faltering, to those whom have faced impossible odds, and to those capable of surviving even immediately fatal wounds. To consider it something which can be taught is to misunderstand the source of this gift, and even genetic manipulation cannot bestow this trait upon individuals, causing those blessed with it and those aware of its existence to describe it simply; one either has it, or they do not. Even among those gifted with the trait there is an understanding that it cannot be honed or empowered, though there are documented cases of individuals known to harbor it surpassing previously displayed limitations. However, whether such events are cases of a misunderstanding of their limitations or an actual moment in which they exceeded them is unclear, as the trait is nearly impossible to test or research - even the Hunter-Nin, which are known for their inhumane research methods, have precious little information regarding the Kyōkō Kishitsu.

Those whom display the Kyōkō Kishitsu trait are few and far between, yet are known for living extraordinarily long lives wherein they survive horrific ordeals in the face of all logic. To put it aptly, the Kyōkō Kishitsu is the culmination of willpower to endure, and is likened to one being empowered by their own survival instinct, rising victorious even when faced with impossible odds. Though their bodies are no more durable than their peers they are capable of suffering immense pain and injury without wavering in their path - the Kyōkō Kishitsu renders an individual nearly impossible to render unconscious through physical or mental trauma, and while they feel pain as thoroughly as any other they are capable of pushing on without being distracted or hindered by it. Injuries are no less debilitating to their physical state, however; severed muscles and broken bones render their limbs inoperable, and they naturally lose all ability to use a limb that has been removed from their being.

The most basic understanding of the Kyōkō Kishitsu is that it is the ability to survive and endure. This trait is most prominently displayed by the Uzumaki in particular, with perhaps the most obvious feat of the Kyōkō Kishitsu being the moment Karin Uzumaki survived being impaled by several massive blades at the hands of Ryuuza Makaze. What would have immediately rendered another unconscious or even dead on the spot did little to slow Karin, whom proceeded to unleash her own brutal counter-attack while healing her body. Kakashi Hatake remaining conscious through Itachi Uchiha's Tsukuyomi and Kushina Uzumaki surviving the removal of Kurama from her body are other related, documented moments in which the Kyōkō Kishitsu seemingly manifested for individuals. Miryoku Cheney and Little Hitomi Raikou have both shown the willpower to remain conscious after the loss of a limb, with only the trauma of a heart attack slowing the latter in particular, and both Yim Lan Fan and Taichi Yuudai underwent the painful process of attaching their mechanical limbs, with the former even returning to active duty in record time.

Most agree those with the Kyōkō Kishitsu are seemingly immune to falling unconscious regardless of the depth of physical or mental trauma, though they are subject to the limitations of their body, and techniques which are designed to force a comatose state - such as Mystical Palm and some Genjutsu - experience no loss in effectiveness. Bearers of the trait are even capable of surviving instantly-fatal attacks for short periods of time, such as the removal of a Tailed-Beast, and can continue fighting despite their wounds, albeit with limited effectiveness. However, while they can temporarily shrug off fatal attacks, the Kyōkō Kishitsu does not allow them to outright ignore their own mortality, and thus they often require medical attention following their ordeals - Uzumaki, whom almost universally display this trait, are naturally capable in this regard due to their own regenerative powers.
Side Effects: Some individuals have displayed the inhumane ability to remain cognizant of their surroundings even after falling unconscious, most often after horrific injury surpassing even their incredible ability. The most memorable modern display of this trait in particular came during Konohagakure's Chuunin Exams, when Rock Lee continued to challenge Gaara after losing consciousness.

Name: Sekkendō
Rank: -
Type: Taijutsu
Direct Effects: Sekkendō is an eclectic and hybrid martial art style which draws heavy influence from Chinese Wing Chun, Western Boxing, Épée Fencing, Kickboxing, Taekwondo, Jujitsu, Chan Buddhism, and Taoism. It is often referred to as a non-classical approach to fighting, suggesting it is considered a form of martial arts, yet without form. Unlike more traditional martial arts, Sekkendō is not fixed or patterned, but is instead a philosophy with guiding thoughts, and was named for the Wing Chun concept of interception or attacking while one's opponent is about to attack. Sekkendō practitioners believe in minimal movements with maximum effects and extreme speed - the system works by using different 'tools' for different situations, which are divided into ranges; kicking, punching, trapping, and grappling, where practitioners use techniques to flow smoothly between them. Practitioners of Sekkendō often claim the style to be 'fighting without fighting', and believe 'Sekkendō' itself to be just a name, describing it as 'the art of expressing the human body'. Those who practice Sekkendō are exclusively combatants whom have come to view most modern martial arts forms to be too rigid, uncompromising, situational, and ultimately unrealistic - they believe real combat is spontaneous, meaning one could not predict it, but instead only react to it, requiring one to 'be like water', moving fluidly and without hesitation. Though it borrows from many principles, teachings, styles, and forms, Sekkendō does not compile it all together at once, but rather selects the best thereof. The metaphor borrowed from Chan Buddhism was of constantly filling a cup with water, and then emptying it, used for describing the philosophy of 'casting off what is useless'.

The greatest strength of Sekkendō is the dynamic property which enables practitioners to adapt to the constant changes and fluctuations of live combat. Practitioners believe these decisions should be made within the context of 'real combat' or 'all-out sparring', as those are the only environments in which one could trully deem a technique worthy of adoption. This was due to the fluid and dynamic nature of combat, in which circumstances change from millisecond to millisecond, rendering pre-arranged patterns and techniques inadequate. Sekkendō is ultimately described as an entirely philosophical approach to combat, teaching practitioners how to best utilize the techniques and lessons they have been taught or encountered throughout the course of their lifetime. Sekkendō practitioners emphasize that every situation, in fighting or in everyday life, is varied. To obtain victory, therefore, it is essential not to be rigid, but to be fluid and able to adapt to any situation. The philosophy is compared to being like water; 'Empty your mind, be formless, shapeless, like water. If you put water into a cup, it becomes the cup. You put water into a bottle and it becomes the bottle. You put it in a teapot it becomes the teapot. That water can flow, or it can crash. Be water, my friend.' The theory behind this is that one must be able to function in any scenario one is thrown into and should react accordingly. One should know when to speed up or slow down, when to expand and when to contract, and when to remain flowing and when to crash. It is the awareness that both life and fighting can be shapeless and ever changing that allows one to be able to adapt to those changes instantaneously and bring forth the appropriate solution. Practitioners do not believe in 'styles', believing that every person and every situation is different and not everyone fits into a mold; one must remain flexible in order to obtain new knowledge and victory in both life and combat. One must never become stagnant in the mind or method, always evolving and moving towards improving oneself.

Practitioners learn to emphasize an economy of motion, stressing an 'Efficiency, Directness, Simplicity' mindset when striking - Efficiency; An attack which reaches its target in the least amount of time, with maximum force, Directness; Doing what comes naturally in a disciplined way, Simplicity; Thinking in an uncomplicated manner, or without ornamentation. This is meant to help a practitioner conserve both energy and time, two crucial components in a physical confrontation. Maximized force seeks to end the battle quickly due to the amount of damage inflicted upon the opponent. Rapidity aims to reach the target before the opponent can react, which is half-beat faster timing, as taught in Wing Chun and Western boxing. As Sekkendō does not have taught techniques belonging to itself, and instead teaches practitioners how to best employ what they already know, it is required for every practitioner to have formal training in at least one form or style prior to seeking instruction. Those instructed in the philosophies of Sekkendō are taught to employ non-telegraphic attacks, which are believed to be most suited for combat applications. Properly executed attacks using this instruction are meant to catch the opponent off-guard, throwing them off-balance and leaving them unable to defend against further attacks. The key is that the practitioner must keep their body and arms loose, weaving their arms slightly and only becoming tense upon impact. For this reason it is important one does not employ wind-up movements or adopt 'ready postures' to prelude any attack - it is explained that any twitches, glances, or slight movements before striking should be avoided, as they give the opponent insight as to what is being planned, allowing them an unnecessary advantage while one is preparing to strike. This loose, fluid nature, as well as the act of attacking at the last possible moment, serve to dilute the potency of precognitive abilities, as the window of opportunity is much smaller, and the information is not as complete, weakening the effect by 50%. Similarly, Sekkendō borrows from both Épée fencing and Wing Chun when employing 'stop hits', or attacks meant to intercept the opponent mid-strike, using the momentum of the opponent against them to render the counter-strike nearly impossible to check, deflect, or dodge.

The most iconic tactic of Sekkendō is borrowed primarily from Wing Chun; simultaneous parrying and punching. While the tactic is not as effective as the 'stop hit', yet is more effective offensively than blocking and counter-attacking in sequence. Simultaneous parrying and punching utilizes the principle of economy of motion by combining attack and defense into one movement, thus minimizing the 'time' element and maximizing the 'energy' element. Efficiency is gained by utilizing a parry rather than a block, as blocking stops the attack, whereas a parry merely redirects it - redirection has two advantages, requiring less energy to execute and utilizing the opponent's energy against them to create an imbalance. Furthermore, efficiency is maintained in follow-up strikes on the imbalanced opponent, whom is often still reacting to the initial attack and contact, creating an immediate advantage. The primary weakness of Sekkendō is noted to lie within its own combat philosophy, as practitioners are taught to no longer utilize wind-up motions or adopt ready stances in combat. While this facilitates more fluid movement and serves to mitigate the effectiveness of precognitive abilities in battle, it also weakens the overall power output of the practitioner - those of lower physical ability are unable to strike at maximum power, rendering Sekkendō purely defensive in nature for them, while more physically powerful practitioners are capable of taking to the offensive. However, Sekkendō is capable of striking for an additional 25% power when attacking an opponent in direct opposition of their momentum, though only when the practitioner is not employing a stop-hit.
Side Effects: Even more than Hashirama Senju, Yori Uzumaki is noted to possess an extremely aggressive form of Sekkendō, which utilize her surprising strength and technical expertise. While typically capable of striking for up-to-High damage per strike, she is instead capable of dealing up-to-Very High damage when grappling opponents, preferring to use their own momentum and/or weight to assist in slamming them into the environment - a common favorite is seizing an opponent's limb in mid-strike, using their own strength to throw them into the environment for Very High power. In addition, Yori can perform the traditional wind-up requirement for Very High power and also drops into low stances when delivering thrust punches, which have Very High power for an equal stamina cost as well. Finally, when performing a diving attack with her legs she is able to emulate the Highwind to a modest degree, and a dive kick from her is strong enough to hit the Very High tier and create a crater around the impact zone.

Side Notes: Due to the eclectic and hybrid nature of Sekkendō it is impossible for two practitioners to employ perfectly similar forms, as the development and adoption process differs based on personal preference and experiences. Lan Fan, for instance, gravitates towards counter-offensive methods, employing tactics and strikes adopted from Wing Chun and Krav Maga, preferring to use her hands over her elbows or legs, and targets primarily the upper-body of her opponent. However, she describes her instructor as preferring grappling techniques, relying on kicks the calves and shins offensively and employing his hands defensively. This same nature renders it impossible for Sekkendō to be copied via visual methods, as one would only be able to glean the physical technique of another style, rather than the entirety of Sekkendō itself. Yori's style is very brutal and similar to boxing, yet retains a great deal of sprinting agility and a habit of utilizing stomping attacks and knee strikes.

"Bow down before Fragarach!"

Weapon

Weapon name: Fragarach
Weapon genre: Sharp, Ranged, Piercing
Weapon type: Dagger
Material: Lead, blood, silver.
Size: See assorted images.
How is it carried around: A large case slung over her shoulder, which is dispensed when she starts fighting, and the five orbs are instead manipulated with her chakra, floating around her in a pentagonal formation.
Appearance: See assorted images.
Amount: One set of five.
Abilities: The Fragarach is one of the oldest and most powerful weapons of the Uzumaki clan, and one of their few surviving treasures; when Uzishogakure was destroyed, the Fragarach was smuggled out by an unknown clan member and given to Yori's family, who safeguarded it until it fell into her possession. She deigned to take the weapon with her when she left her shadowy home and has since become somewhat reputable for its usage. It is also called the "Answerer," as it was was the Uzumaki clan's tradition to respond to challenges or invasions upon their coast by firing the Fragarach out over open water against the lead ship. It is also known as the "Retaliator" due to its usage as a counter-attack weapon, and it is from this alias that Yori derives her own epithet, as she is usually known to take a job in order to avenge a slight or wrongdoing on the part of her clients, even if it is imagined. It is the "Sword of Retrograde" and it is fabled to be an indefeasible weapon of the gods, divinely protected by some malicious will, that works by using a conceptual curse to warp the power of the opponent, and a divine trick that uses chakra as its blade. The purpose of the Fragarach is to take an opponent's heart with a needle-thin, concentrated blast right before they unleash their ultimate attack. The condition for its use is that the opponent must use their strongest attack, and Fragarach must be used directly before the enemy's strike.

Insofar as its construction, "Fragarach" actually refers to five different, identical blades made from silver and lead. Created to be indestructible and immune to magnetism, Fuuinjutsu, as well as the Whisper of the Heart and other external powers, they are bound to Yori's chakra through a ritual that she used to turn the Fragarach into an assassination weapon. Over the course of six months, she poured out her blood over each of the orbs, imbuing them with the property of only responding to her chakra, allowing her to wield the weapons without interference from others who might somehow discover the method by which she does so. The blades are sharp enough to pierce through diamond and draw blood from Yokai herself, attesting to their wicked lethality. All five blades are "activated" for a Low chakra drain in total, though each orb attacks for up to Very High power for an equal chakra cost per blade, flying towards at an opponent at a rate equal to a 5 in attacking speed. Their primary purpose as used by Yori is to hassle and attack an opponent after she engages them, darting down to slice them with a potent knife in order to ward off attacks or supplement Yori's own strikes, but they retain a trump card as a counter attack.

Any of the blades can be "keyed" for an additional High cost, which causes them to float in the air, glowing like a bulb, and they are unable to be utilized further until another High cost is paid to "de-prepare" them. This preparation is used to cause the Fragarach to ready itself and search for an Extremely High amount of chakra or physical stamina being utilized in a twenty meter vicinity, at which point it will automatically extract an Extremely High chakra cost from Yori and 'home' back in on the source of the energy it detected. Despite being released afterward, Fragarach is able to target the source of chakra the moment it is readied and follows it back to its opponent at blistering speed, so that it will arrive at the same time as the opponent's attack hits Yori - it is not a clashing attack, as it wil go through or around the mass of chakra if at all possible, but rather it is an attack of "mutually assured self-destruction" that abandons the wielder in order to gouge out the heart of the enemy, severing the fate of the combatants, as if it is destiny's whim that both the user and enemy simultaneously kill each other with their attacks. By combining it with the Uzumaki's healing power and enhanced life force, it becomes an ability using one's life as bait to counter a one-turn-kill to win the battle, creating a perfect balance between offensive and defensive capabilities.

Fragarach is an "Ace-Killing Joker" and the "ultimate counter code" that responds to the "trump card" of the enemy, such as the Bijuudama of a jinchuuriki. Against passive trump card abilities that are constantly activated, such as a buff of the Extremely High tier, it can be used against them at any time, and against an attack used by a summon, it naturally targets the summon rather than summoner. If used with the proper conditions with the "Answerer effect", it activates with as an A Rank attack after calling both out of its names. One major weakness is that it is useless against enemies without a special ability that they default to, and it is noted to be almost useless against individuals such as the Raikou who unleash volleys of powerful attacks. Further, Fragarach must detect a single, lump sum of chakra, so an individual who is paying multiple Very High costs and drains is not a legitimate target for the counter strike.

It can be used as a normal attack with the "non-Answerer effect", as noted earlier, but unless power is cut to four other orbs, the individual attacks are halved and dramatically slower; by concentrating her attention on one orb, Yori can supercharge and punch it to deliver an Extremely High beam for an equal chakra cost, sweeping it to strike and cut her targets, but it is not any faster than the normal Fragarach if she does so. It is essentially just the equivalent of a bolt of light in that state. It limits the use of such attacks for those who know of it, and upon encountering her Sankaku Highwind states she would have to keep hitting him with the low level version a number of times before the "no Flying Spear policy" would start to annoy him. It is only guaranteed to gouge the heart, so it may not immediately kill the enemy if they possess the Unyielding Spirit quality or similar tenacity. Its natural enemy is "something that remains alive after it has been killed", such as enemies with great regenerative abilities or multiple sources for their life, such as Erza Scarlet's Avalon. The damage done by the attack is normally a small, minimum-sized fatal wound the size of a pebble that pierces the heart due to the focused energy of the laser. Against Sankaku Highwind, it took out a large chunk of his body between his heart and his left shoulder because Yori swung wide with the laser after Gáe Bolg struck her.

How is it carried around: Varies based on the individual.
Appearance:https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/5...ea1be6cf861.jpg
Amount: Usually in the dozens.
Abilities: Black Keys are a sacrament of the assassination bureau known as the Church, one of their many charms used against their targets. They take the form of long and slender rapier-like swords with blades measuring over one meter and extremely short hilts, looking more likely to be used to thrust than slash at the opponent. Weighing one kilo, they are too thick and oddly-balanced (feeling heavier towards the tip) to use as melee weapons in general, and they seem more like dirks made into swords or arrows even to someone who does not know of their true nature. With low effectiveness as swords despite their appearance, and their great length, their true usage is almost exclusively as throwing weapons likened to shuriken rather than for swordplay. Despite being a basic weapon of the Church, they are mostly considered to be a symbolic weapon for Executors, and have fallen out of favor due to the difficulty in learning how to handle them and their weak innate attack power. The Keys employed by the Agency division have been especially enhanced by Etsuko and Yori Uzumaki to have additional effects; they are not indestructible but are highly durable, being able to clash with Makaze steel-grade weaponry, and can naturally pierce iron themselves. They are non-magnetic as a matter of course, and are woven with counter-measure Fuuinjutsu that repulse any attempts to place seals on the blades and interfere with their additional abilities.

In general, the Black Keys are enhanced by Etsuko over the years, and all of the Church's Keys are able to call upon the "original laws of nature" for a Moderate chakra drain, sealing the ability for targets struck by these blades to heal wounds caused by these weapons through regenerative abilities. Emphasized on the ability to intervene spiritually against "evil", they focus less on physical attack power, even affecting those who are morphed into intangible targets with the addition of a Medium chakra drain as well. Those who wield them often hold multiple Black Keys at once in a "fan formation" between the fingers of each hand, and an expert like Yokai can wield up to four in one hand. They can be thrown singularly or all at once with great accuracy and speed. Primarily being throwing weapons, their length makes defending against short knives and daggers hard due to the lack of balance, so Yokai prefers abandon them to use her Koumajutsu instead in such situations. Experts and chosen Executors generally manifest the blades from preloaded chakra contained within the hilts, carrying around only hilts in great numbers, essentially the equivalent of carrying many switchblades; the blades are sealed within the hilts, and all it takes is an iota of energy to allow them to manifest.

The blade is a semi-solid formed by pre-readied chakra so as to be compatible with all members of the Church, and further they are half spiritual objects able to be over-filled with energy to increase their size more than twice over when used by someone such as Etsuko or Yori; this allows them to empower the weapons for up to Very High power for an equal chakra cost, though this skill does not seem to function for those who rely on stamina, such as Yokai or Reizo. Etsuko has demonstrated that the reinforcement can be used to repulse the strikes of an attacker, allowing Etsuko to deflect a sword strike from Ryuuza Makaze at the cost of the weapon's destruction in general. Although normally considered weak in force, it is possible to utilize Church martial art theory to throw them more effectively, increasing the force of impact dozens of times to allow them to bore through even reinforced concrete walls and hit an enemy with enough force to be likened to being struck by a shinobi. Although it would seem to be some form of magical enchantment, it is actually a "secret throwing technique" of the Burial Agency, strengthening them through pure martial arts, and is the counterpart of the reinforcement method - Yokai and Reizo are especially fond of it, able to throw individual Keys for up to Very High power for an equally stamina cost.

Yori has a different collection of Keys that have unique seals engraved on them, allowing her to create some elemental effects. The Cremation Rite (Kasō Shikiten) causes the target to burst into flames upon being pierced, dealing up to Very High damage for an equal chakra cost separate from the blade itself. Her Internment Rite (Dosō Shikiten) causes petrification upon the target being pierced, immobilizing the region struck until treated with Medical Ninjutsu or the key is removed, necessitating a Medium chakra cost to trigger the seal. Finally, the Excarnation Rite (Chōsō Shikiten) immobilizes the target upon the blade piercing their shadow. She mentions that the "shadow will struggle just as hard" not to separate from the target as they attempt to escape from the binding, requiring a strength stat of 5+ to ignore the effect, though the key itself can be removed from the shadow through any conventional means available.
