What do we think of the 45th U.S. President's time in office, so far? |

I think that his first acts have not been very good, but that isn't what concerns me about him. Through the 25th Amendment, the cabinet can vote by majority to remove the president and transfer powers to the next person in line (In this case, a chap from Indiana who thinks you can electrocute gay people until they are straight.) If the President challenges the decision, it goes to Congress, where a two thirds negative vote rejects it. This could easily, easily happen. In addition, the simple fact of the Trump administration is that it is a dishonest kleptocracy. The Donald is not going to do shit to bring back jobs. Anyone with half a brain knows that large-scale protectionism works to drive up prices before it fosters any domestic industry. This term will be yet another four years of upper level republicans networking and writing in loopholes and inventing exemptions so that the rich will be secure in their assets, businesses, and investments, while the poor are shafted and killed by a lack of healthcare or safety standards. I think that he is a too dangerous bomb in the US Government. He made lots of things which, doesn't matter your party, you MUSTN'T do it. Firstly, what does he thinks women are? Toys or rubbish? He is really unrespectful with ladies. Because he has money?! So, poor men are single because they don't have money? Let me say that money, doesn't buy anything. You can't buy love! Have you ever felt it? I think that not. You don't love your wife, you bought her. Ridicolus! Secondly, he is touching dificult topics of Diplomacy. What does he think? That he can fight against China and the OTAN at the same time? I only wish that the WWIII doesn't explode. Do you think thay somebody who easily gets angry and attack saying horrible things via Twitter, must have the power of the nuclear bombs? Well, I think that he doesn't have enough psicological abbilities. He is really arrogant. Does he really think that Mexico will pay the wall? It's like saying that he wants a Mc'Donalds in North Korea. It's really stupid! He wants every company in the USA! Toyota is a Japanese company which wants to work in Mexico. And he don't accept it! Why? If the company is from Japan, what does the USA wants? Fame? I would certain prefer Donal Duck as president of the USA, more than Donald Trump! He isn't a politician, he is an arrogant monster! P.S.: I am really sorry if I spoke so bad. But this is a part of my opinion about D.J.Trump. I think that it's time to have a lady in Government, unfortunately we must wait four years more! |

He promised to do a lot of things on "Day One" and then immediately broke that promise. So far, he's acting an awful lot like a politician for a man who got people to vote for him because he's not a politician. As Trevor Noah said, he's got no more excuses. He got elected on all of these ridiculous and plainly impossible policy proposals, and now he's got both houses of Congress and and a Supreme Court vacancy to help him do it, even though he'll never be able. So I can't wait to see what rubbish he comes up with when he fails. And that's not even taking into account the fact that he's the place where morals and decency go to die. I could go on for hours on how much I despise the man (or should I say creature?), but I'll spare you all the lengthy reading. Edited by The Rt. Hon. Lord Lucas of Texas, Jan 23 2017, 11:43 PM.

I have faith. All we can do is see what happens. I just can't stand people that want him to fail. If he fails, the country fails. The hell kind of good would it do to watch your own country fail? |

I am actually wondering which acts you think are not "very good." Because I think that there is plenty of discussion to be had on this. First, there are many ways to bring jobs back to the United States, and I think it's a bit dishonest to say no jobs will be saved. This is especially true if Trump goes protectionist. Also, you say prices will go up, yes that's probably true. But if incomes rise (not saying they will) and there is a decrease in the income tax levels, well then you have probably a net zero. I am also concerned about your latter statement about Republicans networking and writing in loopholes...protecting the rich, etc. Sorry, but that facts do not exactly support Republican investment in the rich or vice versa. Fact is, many voters in the upper elitist of our society vote Democrat. The second is that Democrats are just as responsible for loopholes and networking as Republicans, and there are many loopholes in the tax code for specific industries because of Democrats. Now, I do not think Republicans are perfect, and actually, they are far from it. But I do think we should be careful about the silly labels that one party brands on another...particularly when it's rhetoric only. |

The Honourable Gentleman has not heard of accelerationism. To address His Grace's response. Most of your pints are fair, except I think it is important to note that Trump, who promised to divest from his businesses, has yet to, and that divestment is problematic because it is nepotistic by nature and not really divestment. That combined with the free publicity for his brand and the fact that his charity paid his companies for services shows some pretty corrupt and kleptocratic behaviour already from Mr. Trump. |
