Doo Wop. Posts: 363 Group: Admin Member #1 Joined: February 8, 2008	Alright, you've read all the basic rules, you have in mind what race you want to be, and you know what abilities you want to have. So now your ready to finally make your character, right? Ha ha WRONG!! First we need to go over a few things. First is: Filling out the application Below this is the application. Gaze at it in awe and mystery. Okay, now stop, come back up here and keep reading. Copy the application down below and make a new thread in this forum. Now, fill out the application. The first six catagories are pretty self explanitory: your name, age, sex, origin, description and history. A big tip for you: The longer and more detailed the latter two, the better chance you have of passing and getting your custom weapons and abilities. Now we come to your primary weapon. This is where you get to be creative. Droids and humans are very customizable when it comes to this catagory, so let your imagination soar. What I'm saying is that with this catagory, you can create your own weapons from your mind. Describe what your weapon does and the attacks it can use. Example: Garret is a human who uses a gauntlet system. What he has is a pair of gauntlets and grieves that make him a master of martial arts. He can perform a variety of kicks and punch combos. Now, he also has some special moves: Slider Kick, which lets him do a kick from the sky, Bomb Combo, a serious of explosive punches, and Quivering Fist, a delayed yet damaging attack. He must list these attacks under his Primary Weapon catagory in order for them to be given credit. Otherwise, they will not able to be used or even taken into account when approval is pending. Next, you have abilities. This catagory plays an important role for mutants, because this is where their powers come into play. Mutants list all their offensive and support powers in this catagory. Humans and droids can also fill this catagory with augmentations to their armor and chasis. Next is your Battle Gauge. This is important for the approval process because this factors the damage and usage points of your weapons and abilities. Choose from these gauges. Finally, you have your level up system. If none of these appeal to you, you can always try to make your own level up system. If we decide that it is fine to go through with, you can play with that. --- After you have filled out your application, now comes: The approval process Yuor application will be reviewed by the administrators. Our first test of your application will be whether or not your application is up to snuff. If it's just a mish-mash of everything you could think of thrown together in a jumbled mess of grammar errors and misspelling, we will throw it out the window and tell you "Do it again, only, you know, better." Second comes the attack test. We will review whether or not your attacks are overpowered. I mean, come on people, you're a starting character, moving up in the world. You have to start at the bottom. Go ahead and give your guy super-powered moves. You know what we'll do? We'll tell you he needs to be weaker, or you can GTFO. Try to be reasonable. If it passes these two tests, then we move to point distribution. We take into account your battle gauge and with it, we decide how powerful your moves should be. We also give them a certain number through our point system. [VERY IMPORTANT] This is how it works: Each applicant gets 100 points. Extremely high quality applications can increase this number, which is a good thing. We then give weapons and abilities point values. Weaker attacks are lower value, while stronger attacks are higher. If the total of your weapons and abilities' point value exceeds the number you are allowed, then you need to go back and edit it properly. If it is drastically lower, then we'll ask you to add additional attacks and abilites. If neither of these is true we'll convert the app. points into your level-up points. Don't worry, we'll show all our work when factoring point values. [/VERY IMPORTANT] After some editting and tweaking by both the reviewers and applicant's part, you'll character will be just about done. --- Now that your character is all set up for the job, there's one last thing we'll need to go over: Final preperations So now your character is approved by the staff. What do you do now? Well, first we need to discuss application rewards. When you complete your application, you'll notice we give you some items: some currency, a weapon or two, maybe even an mod. The reward you are given is directly proportionate to the quality of your application, so another reason to be of good quality. Anyways, these items are what we deem fit that would benefit your character. Say that Garret has just finished his application, but because of his martial artist status, he doesn't have any ranged attacks. Not to worry, for the staff gives him a pistol and an autorifle, though of low grade and level. Now he can fight at a range. The staff will make one last post in your application topic, then they will close the thread. This post will contain the final product: your character in all its glory. Now, you must copy the post and put it into a different topic altogether in this forum. If we feel that your character is truly gold material, we will move the topic into the Golden Applications forum for all to see. --- And now your down. Congratulations on finishing your character. Now have fun, and I'll see you in the RP.
