So...what is a weapon system? Well, it's the general term to encompass all the non-special you can perform. If your guy uses a gernade launcher AND a spike thrower, these would be part of your weapon system. These are custom-made weapons that can be upgraded. Hell, you can even have just a regular arm-cannon and stick you rname at the beginning of it, and behold it's a custom weapon. Mutants need to follow a special rule when it comes to their weapons: They can only have one here. The weapon is subject to the rules of Melee Weapons, but the mutant is trained in how to use that weapon. They gain a natural +1 in that weapon. This weapon can also be upgraded unlike regular weapons, so make sure you get a weapon you think has the most chance of getting more powerful. Alright, so what's an ability? An ability is an inherant...well, ability within either your body suit, droid shell, or yourself. For a human, these would be defensive upgrades and plasma shields. For droids, these can include natural augments or hidden surprises in your shell. For a mutant, this is the most important catagory: this is where all your natural abilities stem from. Make sure you think hard in this catagory. When crafting your character, you will notice that we follow the following format for weapons systems and abilities: Attack/Ability Name Description Type: Rank: Gauge Usage: Notes: Let's go over this together. Try to keep up. The first two are pretty easy to guess. You name the ability or weapon, then describe what it looks like/how it works. Now, as for type, well, that's a bit trickier. It's easy to perscribe for abilites. If the ability needs to be initiated, it will be Active, and the rest of the catagories will be filled out. If it is something that is always in effect, it's Passive and the rest of the catagories are not fille dout, and what the attack does is filled out in the description catagory. Weapons, though, are a different matter entirely. There is no set type of weapons (yet), so what goes in here for weapons is of no matter. The staff will fill this one out for you when reviewing the weapon. Rank and Gauge Usage are stuff you don't fill out. Disregard those when making an ability, only the staff needs to worry about filling these out. You know what those are. Just a note, though: the number in Gauge Usage is already tailored to your gauge, so don't let there be any confusion. Notes are special attributes to an attack. These can include Poison, Blindness, Explosive, or your own custom attributes. The staff will decide what goes in here, but make sure you put what the attack does in the description. |
