It's the heat of battle. You've used all the attacks you could, but nothing seems effective. Your opponent stands above your battered body, grinning maliciously. His coup de grāce is about to be delivered, and you send one final prayer to whoever will listen. Suddenly, you feel your body revitalized, your strength enhanced, and the world moving slower around you. You are filled with a fervor to beat your opponent, so the battle continues.

What just happened? Well, in the situation above, the person was using the Miracle System, a battle-based level-up system in which you spend Divinity Points (DP) to give your character certain effects. These can range from healing, attack bonuses, or escape.

When can these effects be utilized? Anytime during a battle, in fact. You are rewarded DP after battles and missions, and with these, you can utilize the vast array of effects. You have to sacrifice DP to use them, though, so be wary of how much you use.

You may notice that because DP points are spent during battle, there's no room for personal improvement. This is somewhat fixed by allowing DP to be spend much like EXP is spent. However, abilities to be purchased are more expensive than in the Experience System.
