Name: UN-09-E1, Unit Model "Asp"
Age: Unknown
Sex: Male Persona
Race: Droid
Origin: Unknown

Description:
Asp is a rather large unit, about 7'6" and covered in layers of armor. Picture a Big Daddy, the mascot of the game Bioshock. Now, convert its six or eight eyes into one relatively small, white one. Instead of a drill on one arm, give it two hands. He's also got the same, worn coloration though he doesn't have any of the back equipment. There. You just pictured Asp. Oh, also, his eye is capable of emitting a flashlight-like source of light, and night vision.

At its best, his ever-developing personality can be equated to that of a hermit. He believes strongly in the concept of self-sustainment, and prefers such a lifestyle. While his thoughts on life are still naive and almost childlike, he still knows killing is necessary in many a case. He only knows this because he's also come to terms with the fact that he might as well be biological, meaning that he, too, must fight for his survival at times; and in doing so, he's developed a high respect for humans. knowing they and their ancestors had to survive this harsh world. In fact, he values most humans over droids, he himself seeing droids as expendable whereas humans are precious, fragile and unique beings. In the end, all he would need is a human to protect - preferably a female or a child, for a reason he can't quite understand himself - and a secluded shelter with Drones to kill to feed said human, and his would be a perfect life.

But one thing he can't question is how much of that desire is just programmed into him.

Biography:
The Asp model was the ninth of ten snake-themed robots built by a private corporation toward the end of the Age of Water. This unit of ten was to be called the Ten Snakes. Created alongside nine other units, he, as his comrades, were among the first to be engineered with a degree of emotion, the largest being sympathy and empathy. This feature, however, was an unintended fluke, and the corporation scrapped the entire project, leaving the ten units to spend eternity in the confines of the lower levels of their headquarters, performing menial maintenance-related tasks.

Originally, he and his 'brothers' were created for war; made to be the best available war droids. However, due to the aforementioned discovery of the droids' abilities to act outside of orders and emote to a small degree, outside funding for the project was stopped, and nobody wanted to buy them from the original corporation. Eventually, during the gradual recession of the waters, the building was condemned, though never destroyed. The modest successes of the original, still-unnamed corporation was enough only to keep it alive until now. Thus, the no-name company dissipated, and the Ten Snakes were completely forgotten.

During their time together in utter darkness, the Ten Snakes grew very close, to a point of near-telepathy. However, when land was finally reachable, and the walls crumbled around them, the ten were all equally lost in the foreign world of the Wilds, and, despite their moving as a unit, were eventually separated or killed.

Asp eventually found himself alone, though he wouldn't be able to tell you when. That's not to say he doesn't remember; he just never talks. He was built with a voice - a hideously deep, thunderous one - but has not used it in decades, and may very well have forgotten speech altogether.

Primary Weapon:
Asp Cannons
The Asp model is capable of converting its two arms into guns. The palm of the hand opens up and the fingers fold back over the barrel. These weapons are energy-based, and fire beams of white energy at a relatively low speed. These beams can be continuously held to Asp's desire, and are incredibly hot. Such heat, however, is countered with an automatic limiter system that cuts off the energy if the inner workings get too hot. This limiter cannot be removed or overridden, for Asp's sake.
Type: Stream
Damage: Rank 2
Gauge Usage: 1
Notes: Cannot be used for 3 turns in a row; if holding an object in one hand, damage is halved.

Abilities:
Scan
Asp is able to quickly scan something to an extremely detailed degree. When the scan is performed, Asp must concentrate all systems upon the task, meaning that for anywhere from 2 to 10 seconds, he is completely focused upon what must be scanned. The process also shuts down immediate sensors including vision, meaning that Asp must be aimed directly at the object before initiating the scan.
Upon completion of the scan, Asp is able to store schematics, biological data, elemental abilities and currently equipped mods permanently into his memory for later use.
Because so much is disabled for the scan, it actually takes very little energy, and thus can be used frequently.
Type: Active
Damage: n/a
Gauge Usage: 2
Notes: Gains temporary knowledge of HP, built-in weaponry, and biological make-up; Does not analyze mutant powers.

Heavy Armor
Since Asp was constructed with an obscene amount of armor for being in the front line, he's practically immune to some weapons. However, such armor takes a powerful and painfully obvious toll on his agility and speed. While it also helps his strength due to the sheer weight of one of his arms, Asp's shell so heavy, his maximum speed of running is probably no more than 5 mph. Seriously.
Type: Passive
Notes: Defense +1, slow speed.

Overdrive
Rarely used, this ability causes Asp's physical abilities to reach unfathomable levels. It enables him to see, hear, and sense things he normally would never even consider existent. It also enables him to briefly run at relatively high speeds in a linear fashion. Furthermore, his already-high physical strength is nearly tripled. However, this ability is dangerous, as all sentient units are treated as hostile (another unfortunate design flaw). Also, removal of strength limiters can be dangerous to his own shell, meaning that damage to himself in some form is almost inevitable.
Type: Active
Damage: n/a
Gauge Usage: 5
Notes: Speed increased when moving in a straight line; increased awareness; +2 to Melee damage and increased strength; -2 HP per turn; berserk; can be deactivated at user's discretion
