Is it worth the trouble?

I've been waiting to introduce a Crossover Original Character into a forum for 40 days now. I've never been denied out right, but Its always been *Weeeellll, I'm not sure if this fits. I don't think he'll find his place.*

Now, the forum I'm trying to get into is not a very big forum, is completely RP based with the exception of overall power level.

With only this, what would you have done if you were given the promise of *maybe if you make it fit more.

I tried to explain how my character fits in just fine, he'll make his own place or die trying to become another random sidestory of no particular significance. Now I've brought forth more Canonverse methods for bringing the same, no real changes, character into the Canonverse. Suddenly, the Admin I'm talking to basically wants me to ask the other Admin. He would like to see it, but hesitates in actually introducing it.

And thats where it stops, this is where I'm waiting at. The first PM from the other Adimn.

So, what would you have done?

I would let you get away with it because your EXTREMELY experienced at RPing. But I bet this admin doesn't know this.

The Rules, and their general attitude, is against Crossovers. Its only my background and my usual *I understand if this is denied* that has kept me under the Maybe category for so long.

Besides, the lot of my RP experience amounts to running a failed forum, and generally low requirement RP forums, to include Max Op and Tohea. Tohea is the only forum I've been with, on and off, for a couple years.

And I wanted what you would do in my situation, not theirs :P.

Personally, I think that I would have just let it slide after perhaps a week or two. I mean, forty days to try and introduce a character? Maybe's or no, I would hardly believe that admins should take more than a few weeks at most to discuss an idea assuming regular activity of perhaps every (couple of) day(s).

Also, I would have given the idea to both admins within a reasonable time interval (say a few days or so) so both can review it at the same time, discuss it among themselves, and give a collected reply. It's good to find ways to make your idea fit into the canonverse of the site, but I wouldn't wait forty days to get an idea (dis)approved. Effective admins should be able to analyze an idea, perhaps debate about it if it's among more than one, and give a prompt response and possibly repeat the process if new details come up. Just my two cents.
