A bearded man in overall's who looked to be in his mid fifties leans against a beat up tractor, watching keenly over his crops. He had an Autorifle slung over his shoulder, and he had a Kaizer pistol holstered at his waist. He kept glancing over at the road to the east, almost as if he was expecting to see someone each time he looked.

As Draiken walked through the fields, he kept his hands above his head in plain sight, signifying that he was the person who accepted the mission and not another thief. However, in the case that a real thief showed up, Draiken kept his katanas slung across his back in easy reach. Despite his work to look relatively peaceful, the young mutant didn't like the look of the alert pistol in the man's hand, but Draiken could understand the reasoning.

The old man saw Draiken and knew he was the person here to help him.

"I'm glad you came young'n. I was starting to worry that I would have to take these punks myself. If I were a bit younger I could take them, but alas, I am old and worn. It doesn't mean I am incapable of fighting. Now, let me give you the low down of whats happening."

The old man gestured to the field to the north, which was nothing but Habula fruit bushes.

"You see all that over there? Those are Habula fruit bushes. We mutants love them. The human's think they taste nasty for some reason. Those Habula fruit bushes are my best selling crop. I make practically a two hundred and fifty thousand credits a year on Habula fruits. Unfortunately, the mulch needed to grow these Habula fruit bushes doesn't come cheap. I spend a hundred thousand credits a year buying mulch to grow Habula fruit bushes. Now normally, I don't have many problems on this farm. The occasional Drone will wonder in and start devouring Habula fruits, but their usually pretty easy to kill. then there's the occasional mischief maker who'll steal habula fruit or two, but it doesn't really take much to scare them off. But these bastards are diffrent. They actually have weapons on them and their harvesting my crops! This has been going on for the past five days and already I've lost 3000 credits worth of Habula fruit! I tried to get the police to help me, but they can't be assed to help an old man like me. Thats where you come in. I need your help so that I stop them from harvesting any more of my crop for their own gain. I don't have much to pay you with..... just a couple of old Mod's for my guns that I got back in my younger days and an old Kaiser pistol."

"Sir, please do not worry about the reward. That can come until this mission is actually complete," Draiken replied, processing the situation. The mention of the lack of police enforcement on the situation brought a flashback of Draiken's first and previous mission. Reminding himself that the situation was different and that the police wasn't actually involved, he managed to keep himself composed without a shudder.

Deciding to gain more information, Draiken asked, "Is there any pattern to these thieves' raids on your crop? Time of day, how often they come? Also, could you tell me what kind of weapons they have?" At this stage, it was always good know how his adversary, the brigands as a collective whole, thought and acted. Another flashback of his first mission came up, with Cpt. Curtis's suppressive abilities just by being in his presence. This time, Draiken couldn't suppress the image of Curtis's death, bringing forth a shudder.

He wasn't sure how long this was going to haunt him, but for now, Draiken needed to focus on his current mission. The more he knew, the better. To emphasize with a fellow mutant and fellow farmer would make this all the easier to encourage himself to complete the mission successfully.

The old man smiled.

"Usually you Rangers ask whats in it for you first before you get to work.... Its good to know not everyone is interested in knowing what their reward is first. The only pattern I've noticed is that they usually come around at five or six in the afternoon and cut down whole bushes until seven or eight. There's usually three of them, but the group changes every so often. I've counted at least five diffrent goons in this altogether. One of them is a big guy. He's got a lot of muscle, but he's not very bright. Another one is a droid. He's got dual power saw's that he's using to cut down bushes. He's about your size, and he doesn't look very tough. There's two human's, one of them looks like he specializes in melee weaponry and the other looks like he's a Hacker of a sort. Last but not least, there's a mutant. He's rather scrawny looking, like he hasn't eaten in week's. He appears to be the ring leader of the group. He has to have some sort of powers he uses to be able to keep the others under his thumb but I'm not sure what they are. The big lug seems to just use his fists, but he does have a sword on him. The Droid has just his power saw's on him, One of the human's has all sorts of melee weapons on him while the other has just a plain old safety Autorifle on him. The Mutant has a Winchester Longbarrel, a nasty weapon. He's also got a club on him."

The old man pulled out a pocket watch and looked at the time.

"Right now it is... Four forty eight PM. They should be here soon either soon or in another thirty minutes to an hour. I'll show you were they usually appear if you want me to."

Rewards should be based upon merit, not the task at hand, Draiken thought to himself, thinking out the situation.
================
3 Humans
1 with a sword and fists; strong but dumb
1 that's generally good in melee
1 Hacker: Someone who plays with technology?

1 Droid, human-sized
2 Power Saws?; generally not good
ZapShots any good? Might as well wait to find out

1 Mutant; power unknown; small stature but leader
Has Winchester Longbarrel and a club; don't get shot
================
Not all that fun by numbers, but Draiken figured that he had the element of surprise on him.

"I would appreciate that," he told the man, taking up his offer to learn where the thieves usually show up. Draiken could use this information to find a place to stake out if they weren't already showing up to get more crops.

Why were the bushes so valuable to the thieves? Disgusting to humans, wonderfully tasting to mutants, and Droids can eat them. The bushes were expensive as is the cost to take care and raise them, but something still didn't make sense. Kinda like with the first mission except that the objectives weren't nearly as apparent. Why didn't the facts click yet? Lack of information? No apparent incentives? Looks like Draiken will learn as he went along again.

"Alright then. Follow me."

The old man started walking thwords a rough cut path through the fields. He took his Auto rifle and turned to Draiken.

"I just remembered something, these guys occasionally come slightly earlier then expected. A five to six minute difference, but they have come as early as 4:43. Just keep your weapon's handy if they have come earlier then expected."

The old man turned back around and walked into rough cut path, the scrap of the bushes against his overall's could be heard as he made his way through the path.

Draiken nodded his understanding and followed, thinking up a combat plan should a battle ensue. His ZapShot attack would be a good skill to use against the human/mutant adversaries for sure, but it required the mutant to ground him/herself and Draiken wasn't sure how well he'd be able to stay still and send off shots while probably trying to avoid getting too badly hurt.

Then there were his two firearms. The Tekt Magnum that his father had given him could be useful, but the recharge time could be a disadvantage, even worse with the Bright Bullet mod. Draiken hadn't tried his new Winchester Repeater yet, so this could be a good chance to try it out.

Thinking too much would only lead to indecisiveness. Draiken settled with pulling both of his katanas out of their sheaths and going for the ZapShot idea. Before that, though, Draiken slipped the Bright Bullet mod onto his Winchester Repeater to save him time from having to put the mod on during battle.

Hopefully, this would be a peaceful encounter.
