Doo Wop. Posts: 363 Group: Admin Member #1 Joined: February 8, 2008	The skyship hummed along the atmosphere, carrying with it 3 occupants; two mutants and one cyborg. The cabin was silent as the taxi descended into the Erubi Plains. Alyx herself had turned herself into her own thoughts, thinking about her long lost cousin. Below, there was a green-blue cloud where there should have been an outpost. Although not heard from the cabin of the taxi, the sound of large booms could be heard along with screams and an outlandish roar. It seemed Haggard, the monster that the three beings were after, had found a new target. All they could do though, was watch and wait as the taxi slowly descended from the sky.

Anna didn't mind - she preferred the contemplative silence over the irritating, useless small talk most people liked to share. The raven-haired mutant liked to avoid meaningless conversations because people were always trying to be her friend when she didn't want any. When she rejected their approaches they assumed she was ill or troubled, and tried to 'help' her by being even more friendly. It disgusted her. Why were people so desperate for friends? All they did was disappoint you. The only person I can be with is myself. When the vehicle lurched to a stop and began to descend, Anna halted her train of thought and edged over in her seat, grabbing her spear, Sorrow, off the wall and holding it close. She placed her free hand on the window and looked down at the scene below, the smoggy outpost that Haggard seemed to be attacking. She furrowed her eyebrows and clicked her tongue. That must be the toxic gas... there's so much, we can't approach until he leaves. We won't even be able to see him until he's done. They're all doomed... I wonder if it's flammable? She chewed her lip. The first twinge of apprehension appeared in her stomach, but she smothered it quickly and looked on as the hovercraft began to land.

One of those things was how on Earth did he end up working with two mutants. Another was how was he going to approach this beast? Take it from at range, or take his chances and try to melee it? And finally, what was he going to get for his services? Karron saw the Green and blue colored gas out the window and began searching through a list of Toxic and corrosive gases, looking for a result. It was most likely safe to assume that it was toxic. Karron was, for once, grateful for his resilient mechanical frame. If the gases were toxic, it would have no effect on him, as he did not need air to live since he was supported by a special gel that kept his brain and spinal cord functioning. Karron was unsure of how his allies would be able to handle the toxic gases, if they were toxic at all. If the gases were corrosive however, then he would be in alot of trouble. He clearly recalled the last time he had corrosive substances used against him, on a mission in the Droid arc of Mason. Damnable acid ate clean through his Armour and destroyed the pneumatics and wiring that powered his left arm. Karron grumbled audibly as he remembered this. His optic's whirred and he flexed his right arm. He activated his Energy scythe, checked its settings and deactivated it. He pulled out his pistols and loaded them. He re holstered his pistol's and silently waited for the hatch to open, so that he could do the work he was brought here for, go home and not deal with any more infernal Mutants. She felt great remorse at being able to do nothing. She held back back an audible, tearless sob as she checked her own weapon. The autoblade was in fine condition...or it seemed to be. Alyx wasn't really good with mechanics. She swiped it, smiled, and put her finger on the trigger as the ship finally landed. The doors opened and the trio leaped out. The ship landed a good distance away from the attack. It was far enough away to be able to see the turquoise cloud but not close enough to make an accurate shot. Alyx began to run towards the ex-outpost. The plains were eerily silent as the trio began to make their way to the outpost.

As the taxi came to a stop over the ground Anna removed the pistol from her left thigh, taking a poison mod from the pouch on her belt. She took a moment to attach it to the pistol, than holstered it again. The door opened, and she stepped out, carrying Sorrow firmly in her right hand. It struck the ground with a dull thunk as she exited, followed by Alyx. The human exited the other side. They began to slowly approach the outpost, weapons at the ready. Anna let Karron take the lead. She had noticed his distasteful lances towards her and Alyx. Anna glanced at the other mutant, who was visibly distressed by the destruction before them, and the elder mutant wondered why nobody had run out of the toxic cloud yet. Is it that deadly? Is Haggard just eating them all, then? She winced as the thundering sound of splintering wood, shattering glass and metal striking metal met her ears, followed by a feral roar. The apprehension surfaced again, and was more difficult to suppress this time. When they were a bit more than a hundred feet from the swirling cloud of gas, Anna stopped. She was beginning to detect the scent of the poison - a pungent, foul, unsubtle odour. She stepped back and wondered if they were upwind of the outpost. The air seemed still, as is Haggard had killed that, too. "I don't want to go any closer. If he decides to come out, I want to be able to react before I'm dead." She drew her modded pistol with her left hand, keeping Sorrow in her right. "Plus, I don't want to be any closer to that poison." She chewed her lip, then turned to Karron. She wondered if e had identified the poisonous gasses yet. "Do you have any sort of sensors you can use to locate him?" From inside the billowing cloud of death, haggard roared again.

He surveyed the surrounding area and only saw total chaos. Haggard has certainly made a mess of things, completely annihilating the outpost and seemingly everything in it. He saw no visible trace of corpses anywhere. Karron quickly assessed the situation and came to a conclusion: Either Haggard ate them or the surrounding gasses acted as a accelerator for bodily decomposition, causing bodies to decay at a startling rate. Karron has seen gases that caused rapid decomposition before. These gases were insanely difficult to obtain and they were extremely illegal. So illegal infact, that if you were found with these gases in possession, you were usually put into prison for life. Naturally, their excellent to have for cleaning up a crime scene, since they remove all visible trace of a body, including blood spill. Karron heard the young woman speak to him, asking him if he could locate Haggard through the thick of all that gas. Karron snarled and turned to face the young woman. The blast resistant glass on his helm opened up, revealing an array of visual sensors, audio tracers and Vocabulators. "Negative. I do not carry a Sonar or Radar package on this mechanical frame. What I have is Ultraviolet visual sensors, Normal visual sensor's, Audio pick-up and Audio tracing and filtering." He turned to the massive cloud of noxious green and blue gas. He knew Ultra-violet visual sensor's wouldn't help here. The gaseous cloud would only appear as a more attractive color if he switched over to it. Edited by Koal, Feb 28 2009, 11:24 AM.

She ignored his tone and turned to look at the gas cloud before them again, thinking. They still had no way to approach the situation, unless Karron could turn into a gigantic fan. Tilting her head, she looked back at the hovercraft. It had flown upwards to a safe distance, from which it would probably wait for them. Anna briefly considered signaling for it to come down so she could have them fly over the poisonous gasses and try to dissipate them with its turbines, but decided it would be too risky. Are we just going to have to wait until he comes out? Anna glanced at Alyx, wondering if her mutant abilities would be of use. I would assume she'd have mentioned if they could help locate Haggard, so probably not. Considering again what Karron had informed her, she faced him again. "Forgive me for being ignorant of your technology," she said, "but would it be possible for you to use your audio tracing to get an approximate location of Haggard when he roars?" Anna was skeptical - there was a lot of noise in the outpost, and she wasn't sure how sensitive the man's equipment was, or if it even worked that way.

Doo Wop. Posts: 363 Group: Admin Member #1 Joined: February 8, 2008	Just as Anna asked her question, Haggard appeared from the bluish mist. "There'll be no need for that," replied Alyx. Haggard was quite a sight. It stood on four feet, but its arms were much longer than its legs, looking like it stood upright. On top of that, the arms bulged out into what looked like giant spiky clubs. It had a bluish shell on its haunched back and was brown in color. Red, pupil-less eyes glared at the team and it started lugging its way to them, going its own slow pace. The ground shook with every step of its forearms, a show of sheer power. [BATTLE START!] Anna: 50 Karron: 50 Alyx: 50 Haggard: 200 Haggard stopped abruptly, lifted up an arm and brought it to the ground. The ground seemed rise, as if like an earthquake, and this pseudo-fissure made a bee-line for the trio. It was easily dodgible, but it was apparant that stationary attacks were now out of the question.

Dirt and pebbles sprayed her as she came to an awkward stop due to her drawn weapons. They didn't mention that in the post... The attack was intimidating, but ineffective; easy to avoid. It'll keep us moving, but that's hardly in his favor. We don't need to set up a turret to kill this thing, we just need to shoot it and keep away. Guerrilla tactics, wear it down. Anna didn't bother to look for the others. She assumed they had avoided the attack as well - if they hadn't they were hardly fit to take this thing on anyways. With a swift motion, Anna thrusted the butt-end of her spear into the ground, causing it to stand upright while she held her gun with both hands to steady it. She took brief aim and fired, sending a poisonous bolt of plasma towards the club-armed drone. I wonder if you're vulnerable to other poisons? He had noticed that the Mutant by the name of Anna had done the same. He backed off and drew his Teck Special pistol. Hmmmm.... I have no idea what this thing is even capable beyond what its displayed at the moment. I think I'm just going to sit back for a moment and observe it and see how it reacts to Anna and her pistol. Any poison's it emits should have no effect on me, considering that I'm 97% machine. Also, considering, it has an attack that could potentially destroy the lower part of my body if I try to use the half turret. He continued to back off, putting some distance between him and the beast. He wouldn't want the others to think that he was just going to flee though. He was simply waiting for Haggard to react. He kept his pistol trained on Haggard's head, ready to fire if he suddenly decided to come for him. Karron: 50 HP [0]>=1===2====3 Edited by Koal, Jan 20 2009, 03:12 AM.

The kickback brought the gun behind her, but she was used to it, so her arm was relaxed as it fired, preventing injury. She, like the behemoth cyborg, started backing away, keeping her aim straight at the beast. Start of Turn: +2 Autoblade ranged attack: -1 Anna's and Alyx's attacks hit the thing square in the chest. (Haggard -15 + 2 Poison) With the hits, it began to steam the blue gas. Seems that the gas was mainly a defense mechanism, not a something with the intent of killing. It also seemed to be moving slightly faster as it began to lumber once more to the trio. (2 turns to Anna, 3 to Alyx and Karron Haggard: 183 Poisoned/-2 Anna: 50 Alyx: 50 Karron: 50

The raven-haired mutant had also hit the large drone. She assumed her poison was in effect, as it staggered slightly every step at it lurched towards her. It was faster now, angrier. Anna holstered her gun and began to move backwards, not daring to turn her back or allow it to get any closer just yet. It could leap at me or sprint, I don't want to take that risk. After a dozen steps she turned and began to jog away to a safer position. If I can just concentrate for a bit, I'll be able to incapacitate it. I'll bet Karron has some nice big guns he could use if he got a opening... She again wondered what abilities the other mutant had. We really should have discussed all this on the aircraft. She strode until she was behind Alyx and Karron by a fair distance, than turned and looked at Haggard. He was speweing toxic gas and looking none-too-pleased with his wounds, however minor they were. Anna grinned and raised a hand, palm towards the lumbering drone. Her eyes tinted purple and she called the strange forces of warp energy around her. ~~~ Start of Turn: Spend Gauge + 2 No Action \|---l------------\|

It simply took the hits and just started lumbering forward. Karron watched as the beast started spewing gases out of its back. It quickly became apparent that the gas was a sort of defense mechanism of a sort. What kind of effect's the gases had, Karron was unsure. He wouldn't be able to know, unless he just decided to pick up one of the mutant girls and throw them at Haggard or if they voluntarily went up to the beast. He continued to back off from the monstrosity. He had noticed that Anna had ran behind him, attempting to put him and Alyx between her and Haggard. I am, in no way, going to be your shield... He continued to back off until he was past Anna and now behind her. He pulled out his Alcor Spiker and pointed it at Haggard's head. In a moment, he would start unleashing hell on Haggard. Getting hit by its arms is going to hurt, I can tell, she thought, she turned her upper body, aimed as best she could, and fired another round at the beast. Haggard was hit with Alyx's attack as a glancing blow. (-6 HP) It didn't pick up its pace. It seemed this was its maximum speed. Just keep up the pace and they would be fine. Haggard: 175 Poisoned/-2 Karron: 50 Anna: 50 Alyx: 50

It was still very slow. This will be easy... Concentrating, her eyes flared bright purple and her vision shifted - she saw the swirling nimbus of energies only she could command, their weak points and where the flow was strongest. She selected a spot in front of herself and ripped it open, bringing two worlds together. However, she did not stop there. She again focused her power and tore a second rift into reality, closer to her than the first. Then, she grabbed hold of the first portal, calling it to her. It warped and stretched like chewing gum, and she pulled it into the first portal. The two flared and combined, and she twisted them around each other as intricately as she could. Now, there was a bolt of warp energy before her that resembled a writhing mass of twisted cords. Each led into itself a thousand times, and just looking at it for too long could make you dizzy. Haggard was reasonably closer by this point. With another loud breath, Anna pushed the bolt of intertwined portals toward the lumbering drone, leaving a twirling trail of sparkling energy in it's wake. If this works, he'll be open for some serious punishment. ~~~ Anna: 50 Start of Turn: Spend Gauge +2 Used Motion Sickness: Spend Gauge -4 \|-l--------------\| Motion Sickness Anna condenses two portals together in a bolt of warp energy, firing it at her foe. Upon being struck the enemy is warped back and forth between the two portals at a rapid rate for several seconds. When they land, they will likely be nauseous and dazed. She then threw the bolts of energy at Haggard, the bolts leaving a sparkling trail in their wake. Karron began to grumble, wondering if the attack was just for show or if it was an attack of sufficient power. "That attack had better not of been just for show, because I doubt this thing will be intimidated by it." Karron grumbled once more and took aim at Haggard's head with his pistols. The Alcor Spiker fired naturally armour piecing energized crystals, so any defense that Haggard would have had with his tough hide would be practically ignored by the crystals. He began to fire rapidly at the beast with both pistol's, The Alcor spiker firing a rapid stream of energized crystal's and the Teck Special pistol firing bolts of plasma. Doo Wop. Posts: 363 Group: Admin Member #1 Joined: February 8, 2008	Alyx figured that her attacks just weren't doing enough damage with her autoblade alone. If only I had some fire or some kind of electrical source. It's too far away to hit it with static electricity. I'll just have to resort to two guns. She pulled out her Tekt Sidearm with her off hand and fired both weapons at the beast. Start of turn: +2 Autoblade: -1 Tekt Sidearm MkII: -2 Haggard was hit with all attacks: first the Spiker/Special combo (-17 Hp), then with the autoblade/Sidearm combo (-18), then finally with the portal attack (-9). It seemed to fade into and out of reality before becoming fully visible. Now however, it seemed dissuaded by the barrage of attacks. It stood, confused, unwilling to continue pursuing the attackers. Aside from a few new bullet wounds, the drone had acquired a confused and dazed look. It had stopped moving and it's focus wandered, no doubt due to her nauseating attack. She grinned, hefting her spear over her shoulder and taking several steps back. She didn't know how long it would be stunned, so she took advantage at the opportunity to move out to her left, separating herself from the others. She hoped to divide his focus to further disorient him, and reduce her chance of being attacked. It was unlikely that Haggard would attack her over the others, especially Karron, for they posed a much more direct threat than she. I need to decide what to do next, something to make this go faster. She wondered how effectively she could hinder the drone with Sorrow. She fingered the weapon in her hand as she sidestepped around Haggard until she was forty-five degrees to his right. With her cunning eyes, she began to scan his body for a weak point. ~~~ Anna: 50 Start of Turn: Spend Gauge +2 No Action \|---l------------\|

Its acting strange, as if its been in a RF-32 class transporter that's been spinning out of control at top speed. I hope she can do more then just that though, because this thing still looks like it has plenty of fight left in it. Karron kept squeezing the triggers of his pistol and kept holding down the trigger of the Spiker, continuing to fire a rapid barrage of plasma and crystallized energy shots at the massive drone. Karron: 50HP [0]>>[1]===2====3

It seemed unwilling to continue with this pray. We can't let it get away. Alyx began to chase run towards it, guns ablaze. Start of turn - +2 Autoblade - -1 Tekt Sidearm MkII - -2 Once more, Haggard was hit with a barrage of attacks once more (Haggard -36 HP). It seemed like it was now tired of chasing these three newcomers so it turned and began to lumber away, spraying its gas in its wake. This gas would surely make it harder o hit the thing. Dare you chance it to get back to the encampment? Haggard: 99 Alyx: 50 Anna: 50 Karron: 50
